    Integrated Network Pharmacology and In-Silico Molecular Docking Studies to Unveil Mechanism of Action of Polyphenolic Compounds of Psidium Guajava for The Management of Thrombocytopenia

    Despite considerable studies, thrombocytopenia is still affecting millions of people with an increasing rate of morbidity and mortality around the globe. Therefore, we aimed to identify pharmacologically active polyphenolic compounds such as quercetin, apigenin and kaempferol in Psidium guajava for the management of thrombocytopenia using network pharmacology and in-silico molecular docking. The results of ADME/Tox screening revealed that all the polyphenolic compounds possess the drug-likeness activity and were found safe. Moreover, network pharmacology revealed that polyphenolic compounds of Psidium guajava may combat diabetes by acting on key targets, such as MAPK, TP53 and TNF-α which were strongly involved in oxidative stress, inflammatory responses and blood-related parameters involved in thrombocytopenia. Further, a mechanistic approach through molecular docking also supports the strong binding sites of quercetin, apigenin and kaempferol. Conclusively, in-silico ADME, molecular docking and network pharmacology study revealed that identified compounds are safe and pharmacologically effective. These identified compounds could be a great source for the development of new anti-thrombocytopenic drugs in the future

    A Two-Layer Authentication Security Through Personal Mobile SMS for KRG-Iraq E-Government System

    This work is presenting the design and implementation of a two-factor authentication login system using mobile SMS. The main aim of this project is to build, present and add new security layer for the E- Government websites of KRG-Iraq that proposed by the IT section in the KRG Ministry Council. The plan of KRG IT section is to tie individuals to do their works and activities formally over the KRG official websites. However, the login security of such websites should be controlled so that unauthorized users should not be able to access to data belonged to other users. This work follows the scenario-based software engineering that thoroughly developers can collect requirements, and accordingly, the proposed project could be designed and achieved correctly. The developed project has been tested based on reviewing ten software testers. The overall acceptability that obtained from the assigned software testers is 86.7%

    A New Hybridization of Bilateral and Wavelet Filters for Noisy De-Noisy Images

    In this work we propose, a hybrid noise reduction algorithm that is a combination of a spatial field binary filter and a hybrid wave field threshold function. These two methods are used to stop Gaussian noise. The hybrid filter is a nonlinear filter that deals with spatial averaging of non-uniform edges. We found it to be an effective technique for image reduction. Determining filter parameters for the mixed filter is important to avoid large differences in results, besides the issue of acceleration velocity. This hybrid model, binary filtering, and Wavelet Thresholding have tried standard images, such as normal eyes, MRI, Roya Face, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Rawa. Different Gaussian noise was added with different standard deviations σ = 10, 20, 35, 40, and 50. The peak-to-noise ratio (PSNR) signal, MSE, VIF, IQI, and the proposed model MSE between pixels were used as quantitative measures of performance of the relative noise reduction algorithms and then were compared to the models

    Acoustical Evaluation and Comparison Between Two Classroom Types in Erbil

    In order to acquire an effective learning process in lecture halls with good speech intelligibility, good acoustical performance is essential. Inappropriate acoustic quality in classrooms reduces learning quality experience and can induce emotional disorders among students. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare acoustic quality in two classrooms to determine their performance in terms of the learning process, at two types of theoretical halls at the Faculty of Engineering, Tishk International University. The calculation for the acoustical parameters of Reverberation Time (RT, T30), Speech Transmission Index (STI) and sound pressure level (SPL) for the selected educational spaces (classrooms) by simulation software (ODEON) were conducted, and the results were compared with acoustical requirements and guidelines for educational spaces. The results indicated that the closer the receiver (i.e., learner) is to the source (i.e., the lecturer), the lower the reverberation time; conversely, the further students (receivers) are from the teacher (source), the lower the STI and SPL values. This is mainly because of teacher’s direct sound. It can be concluded that the acoustic quality of flat halls is better than raked halls for the learning process

    Aim of study: This study aims at comparing the anti-microbial efficacy of irrigation with Biopure MTAD against irrigation with 5.25 % NaOCl, CHX, NaOCl/MTAD, and CHX/MTAD in E. faecalis-root canals. Materials and Methods: Thirty (30) human single-rooted lower premolar teeth were extracted and de-coronated at the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ). Then, the roots were instrumented by k-file until the size is 40. Furthermore, these teeth were exposed to bacterial contamination in brain heart infusion (BHI) for 48 h. The contaminated samples were divided into 5 groups (MTAD, NaOCl, CHX, NaOCl / MTAD, and CHX / MTAD). The dentin chips in the canals of the samples were removed using a sterile low-speed handpiece round bur and transferred to BHI. The media was cultured, and the bacterial colonies were counted and recorded as CFU/mL. Results: NaOCl / MTAD showed a significantly higher antimicrobial activity compared to 5.25 % NaOCl, MTAD, CHX, and CHX / MTAD. Conclusion: The antimicrobial activity of a combined NaOCl and Biopure MTAD was strongest against E. faecalis compared to the other irrigant solutions

    Review Of Compound Semiconductors Relieving Bottlenecks Of Incessant MOSFET Scaling: Heroism Or A Race In The Dark

    In last five decades, the exponential demand in the field of electronic applications is powered by a drastic escalation in the compactness of silicon based complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) field effect transistor (FETs) and qugumentation in logical performance. But silicon based transistor scaling is now heading to its restraints, intimidating to cease the micro-electronics revolution. Another family of semiconductor materials thus have been under surveil- lance that can be rightly placed to handle this problem: Compound Semiconductors. The spectacular electron transport features of such materials might be point of focus that can lead to development of FETs based on such materials in nano-scale regime. This article provides a speculation in the future of compound semiconductor material-based devices with emphasis on effects of incessant scaling. Whilst aggressive scaling, requirements and constraints that include power dissipation, operating frequency, gain, leakage current must be kept balanced with predictive technologies nodes and also with the fabricating aspects of devices. The scaling restraints requisite a transformation from planar architectures to three-dimensional device structures to cater future performance requirements of CMOS nodes beyond 10 nm. Compound semiconductor materials are progressively waged in various electronic, opto-electronic, and photonic applications due to the prospects of adjusting the properties over a broad parameter domain conveniently by tuning the alloy composition. Ironically, the material properties are also willed by the atomic-scale orientation of compound semiconductors in sub-nanometer scale. Compound semiconductors FET based logic circuits perform 5 folds faster than similar topology circuits based on silicon, whilst dissipating only half of the power. Here a comprehensive review is presented that outlines how compound semiconductor materials mitigate various effects of aggressive scaling in nanometer scale and the adjoining effects

    The Correlation Between BMI And Dental Caries / Tooth Eruption Among 12 Years Old School Children In Both Private And Governmental In Erbil City

    The use of fast food and soft drinks, coupled with a lack of physical activity and exercise, is causing a global increase in the number of overweight people. The study included 250 samples of 12-years-old children from 3 governmental primary schools and three private primary schools in Erbil City in Iraq. Data were compared between subjects with different variables using a statistical significance level of 0.05 and evaluated using Pearson Chi square or Fisher's exact tests. 24% of students were caries free, and the dental caries prevalence was 76%. Caries free were more common in boys 63% than girls 37%, with significant difference (P-value: 0.038), while caries more common in girls 53% than boys 47%, also 78% caries free were from private school students while 22% from governmental school with significance difference (P-value: 0.001). The caries presented in normal weighted students 77% while obese students only had about 4% with over weighted students having 19% with significance difference (P-value: 0.665). Fort canine eruption was more in boy students in governmental school 53%, while erupted canine was in girls 67% in private school. For normal weighted student’s canine were erupted 76%, while it was 20% in over weighted students and 4% in obese students, with significant difference (P-value: 0.016). Dental caries was more prevalent among students. The dental caries was higher among governmental school students than private school. Girl students had more caries than boys. The normal weighted students experienced higher caries prevalence than overweight/obese students

    Factors Leading to Writing Anxiety in EFL Classes

    This study investigated the writing anxiety of second language learners and analyzed the positive and negative implications of this concern. The research examined anxiety, foreign language anxiety, and the primary functions of writing anxiety. To view this topic from the students’ perspective, 94 secondary and high school students from Stirling Schools in Iraq and university students from TISHK International University completed a questionnaire. According to the survey findings, writing anxiety has beneficial and harmful effects on children. The children were not adversely affected by the feedback of their peers and educators, which was an unexpected finding. Another remarkable result is that many pupils had writing anxiety due to inadequate grammar and vocabulary. The most striking and gratifying outcome is that students believe they are more successful when writing on themes they enjoy and are familiar with. In this way, their writing anxiety decreases, and they can produce more productive work

    Flashbacks of Present English Mentors on Their Previous Mentoring Program Experiences

    Mentoring programs have received increasing attention in educational institutions since their contributions were acknowledged. Mentoring programs have been employed to pass on knowledge from mentors to mentees with a well-developed annual plan. These programs are prevalent in many different fields apart from education. There are numerous studies to measure the effects of mentoring on mentees. However, a gap in literature has been noticed to get the perceptions of present mentors who used to complete their mentoring programs as mentees. In this regard, 40 current mentors who are responsible for training teacher candidates in 15 countries used the flashback technique to illustrate their previous experiences as mentees. In this qualitative study, the data were collected through a questionnaire and an interview within 8 weeks. The former was conducted via Quizizz application, while the latter was carried out via Microsoft Teams virtual meetings. Both platforms were chosen for their convenience. The findings revealed that present mentors had mostly positive views on the programs. However, they stated that further efforts are required on shared responsibilities, the tone of criticism and reserving time to socialize. The findings of the study can have some implications for future mentoring programs around the world
