Se Eye Woba Anka ‘if he or she were your child’  : A study of NGO workers experiences of combating child trafficking in Ghana

    No full text
Trafficking in children is widespread abuse of children that happens in Ghana. The concept of human rights has not yet fully found its way into societal structures and beliefs, and that creates problems when we want to ensure the protection of children from violations. Ghana is a country where children are trafficked, both transnationally and inside the country. Mainly for the sake of child labour. Even with many legislative frameworks and ratifications of conventions, the number of children being abused is high. After a nine-week minor field study in Ghana interviewing NGO workers, I am in this thesis analyzing the experiences of people working for organizations in Ghana to eliminate child trafficking in relation to the theory of childism. How great of a factor is prejudice against children in Ghana that enables child trafficking. Does it even exist? Concludingly finding that more than one factor contributes to child trafficking, mainly the lack of realization of children’s rights and the realization of children as right bearers

The experienced limitations on the right to religious freedom for Jews in Sweden : A critical study on the fulfilment on the right to religious freedom in a secular state

    No full text
This thesis aims to answer, if and what, limitations Jews experience in a secular state such as Sweden. To answer this question this paper was made through a qualitative method and through the theory about “the other” by Kevin Kumashiro. By applying article eighteen from the universal declaration on Human Rights and the theory of “the other” on actual experiences and limitations this thesis will critically unfold any discriminations and inequality. Main material has been the eight different interviews conducted in autumn of 2022. The following study therefore aim to contribute to increased research on Sweden's commitments and compliance with international conventions and agreements, knowledge, and tools for further work against hate crimes, increased discrimination and xenophobia in Sweden. The study highlights that the basic security affects the propensity for how free one feels to be open about one's identity which results in direct and indirect limitations upon Jewish identity and Jewish life in Sweden.

Two Neo-Charismatic Churches´ View of Leadership : A Comparative Study of Knutby Filadelfia and Livets Ord

    No full text

A Case for Generative Linguistics in New Testament Exegesis : Surveying the Current Theoretical Landscape and Possible Applicability to Biblical Studies

    No full text
This essay surveys the current theoretical landscape of modern linguistics, asking whethe generative and possibly transformational linguistics can be applied to syntactic analysis of New Testament texts written in Koine Greek to find lingual hallmarks in the form of personal usage of syntactic rules that uniquely identify the authors of the texts. The conclusion is that there seems to be evidence that an application of a minimalist approach could make the detection of such lingual hallmarks possible

"Mind the gap" : A study of former Alpha participants' relationship to faith and church

    No full text
The study examines how former Alpha course participants reason about faith and church today by comparing participants who chose to become members of a local Uniting Church in Sweden with those who chose not to become members, after the completion of the Alpha course. It is the intention that this study will add to the dialogue, and challenge the notion of, using the Alpha course as a method of evangelism in the local church setting.  The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between the Alpha course and the local congregation in Uniting Church of Sweden in a particular context. The aim of the study is to investigate former Alpha course participants' own perceptions of the Alpha course's significance for them. Qualitative interviews were used as a method to obtain empirical material for the study, based on the following research question: How do former Alpha participants reason about faith and the local congregation today? The result of the study shows that there are three common themes that emerged when the former Alpha course participants reason about faith and church: community, faith and time. The clearest difference between participant who chose to become members of a local Uniting Church in Sweden with those who chose not to become members in a local church, is faith in Jesus.
