Arte italiana – poesie polacche. Alcuni esempi
No full textArtykuł został zasadniczo poświęcony włoskiej sztuce utrwalonej w polskiej literaturze. W jego pierwszej części omówiono zagadnienia teoretyczne związane z definicją ekfrazy, sposobem rozumienia kategorii tłumaczenia intersemiotycznego oraz podstawowymi funkcjami, jakie można przypisać literaturze korespondującej ze sztuką. W części drugiej artykułu dokonano analizy wybranych wierszy i fragmentów esejów, które ilustrowałyby zainteresowanie polskich pisarzy sztuką włoską, ale też pokazywałyby formalne i językowe zabiegi nadające im charakter „ekfrastyczny”. W tym celu odniesiono się do utworów Marii Konopnickiej, Tadeusza Kubiaka, Wisławy Szymborskiej, Jarosława Iwaszkiewicza, a także eseju Piero della Francesca Zbigniewa Herberta.This article is devoted primarily to Italian art in Polish literature. The first part discusses theoretical issues related to the definition of ekphrasis, the understanding of the category of intersemiotic translation, and the basic functions that can be attributed to literature corresponding to art. The second part of the article analyses selected poems and fragments of essays that illustrate Polish writers' interest in Italian art, but also show the formal and linguistic techniques that give them the character of “ekphrasis”. To this purpose, reference is made to works by Maria Konopnicka, Tadeusz Kubiak, Wisława Szymborska, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, as well as to Zbigniew Herbert's essay Piero della Francesca
Management of Special Transport Processes in the Food Industry
No full textCelem rozdziału jest zbadanie rozwoju sektora transportu artykułów spożywczych w Polsce, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aspektów prawnych i technologicznych. W opracowaniu zastosowano metodę przeglądu literatury oraz analizę obowiązujących regulacji prawnych, w tym umowy ATP oraz krajowych przepisów dotyczących bezpieczeństwa żywności i żywienia. Wyniki analizy wskazują, że nowoczesne technologie, takie jak systemy monitorowania GPS, alternatywne napędy oraz zaawansowane metody zarządzania transportem, znacząco wpływają na efektywność i bezpieczeństwo przewozów. Większość badanych firm świadomie inwestuje w innowacyjne rozwiązania, dostrzegając ich potencjał w zakresie redukcji kosztów operacyjnych oraz podnoszenia jakości usług. Ograniczeniem badania jest oparcie się głównie na danych wtórnych. Wyniki mają istotne implikacje praktyczne dla firm transportowych, wspierając ich decyzje inwestycyjne, a także społeczne, podkreślając znaczenie bezpiecznego transportu żywności dla zdrowia publicznego. Opracowanie stanowi oryginalną próbę połączenia perspektywy prawnej i technologicznej w analizie transportu żywności w Polsce.The aim of this chapter is to examine the development of the food transport sector in Poland, with particular focus on legal and technological aspects. The study is based on a literature review and an analysis of current legal regulations, including the ATP agreement and national provisions concerning food safety and nutrition. The results indicate that modern technologies—such as GPS monitoring systems, alternative propulsion methods, and advanced transport management techniques—have a significant impact on the efficiency and safety of food transport. Most of the surveyed companies are consciously investing in innovative solutions, recognizing their potential to reduce operational costs and improve service quality. A limitation of the study is its reliance primarily on secondary data. The findings have important practical implications for transport companies, supporting their investment decisions, as well as social relevance, emphasizing the importance of safe food transport for public health. The chapter constitutes an original attempt to combine legal and technological perspectives in the analysis of food transport in Poland
Competences of a social activist leader in the opinion of social activists, on the example of a study conducted as part of the Civic Incubator project
No full textSocial activity, understood as activity in both non-governmental organisations and informal groups, not only fulfils critical social functions, but also plays a measurable economic role, generating employment, providing professional experience and responding to key community needs. Effective management of such organisations relies on a competent team and, above all, on a leader capable of setting a strategic direction, making key decisions and ensuring overall effectiveness.This article identifies the competencies considered essential for leaders of social activity based on the perspectives of activists who work with them in both formal and informal contexts. The research question is: What should be the competencies of a leader of social activity, in the opinion of social activists?The international CIVIC INCUBATOR project (2024–2026) provides the empirical basis, funded under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme. As part of the project, public consultations with representatives of informal groups were held in Łódź on 13 December 2024. Using the design thinking methodology, participants developed Persona – a conceptual profile of an effective grassroots leader – which was the basis for analysing the desired characteristics, skills and behaviours. The study highlights the growing convergence of leadership competencies between the third sector and business, while emphasising their clear focus on social impact.Aktywność społeczna, rozumiana jako działalność zarówno w organizacjach pozarządowych jak i grupach nieformalnych – pełni nie tylko ważne funkcje społeczne, ale także odgrywa wymierną rolę gospodarczą, generując zatrudnienie, zapewniając doświadczenie zawodowe i odpowiadając na kluczowe potrzeby społeczności. Skuteczne zarządzanie takimi organizacjami opiera się na kompetentnym zespole, a przede wszystkim na liderze zdolnym do wyznaczania strategicznego kierunku, podejmowania kluczowych decyzji i zapewniania ogólnej efektywności.W niniejszym artykule określono kompetencje uważane za niezbędne dla liderów aktywności społecznej, w oparciu o perspektywy aktywistów współpracujących z nimi zarówno w kontekście formalnym, jak i nieformalnym. Pytanie badawcze brzmi: jakie powinny być kompetencje lidera aktywności społecznych w opinii społeczników?Podstawę empiryczną stanowi międzynarodowy projekt CIVIC INCUBATOR (2024–2026), finansowany w ramach programu „Obywatele, równość, prawa i wartości” (CERV). From Personnel Controlling to HR Analytics: Koncepcje i praktyki w zarządzaniu ludźmi
No full textCelem książki jest uporządkowanie i analiza wiedzy teoretycznej z zakresu controllingu personalnego oraz analityki HR, a także przedstawienie możliwości ich zastosowania w praktyce organizacyjnej. Publikacja prezentuje różne podejścia – od klasycznych narzędzi rachunkowości zarządczej po nowoczesne metody analizy danych personalnych. Książka składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Rozdział pierwszy stanowi teoretyczne wprowadzenie do zagadnień rachunkowości zasobów ludzkich oraz controllingu personalnego – dwóch kluczowych podejść do pomiaru i interpretacji informacji dotyczących zasobów ludzkich. Rozdział drugi koncentruje się na odróżnieniu controllingu personalnego od innych rozwiązań wspierających kontrolę w zarządzaniu ludźmi, takich jak kontrola wewnętrzna, HR compliance oraz audyt personalny. Omówiono w nim cele, funkcje i sposób działania każdego z tych narzędzi w praktyce organizacyjnej. Rozdział trzeci ukazuje analitykę personalną jako obszar rozwijający się na styku zarządzania ludźmi, technologii informacyjnych i analizy danych. Zawiera przegląd terminologii, różnorodnych podejść do definiowania analityki HR, a także przedstawia organizacyjne uwarunkowania jej rozwoju oraz wyzwania i kontrowersje związane z wdrażaniem rozwiązań analitycznych – w tym braki kompetencyjne, trudności metodologiczne i kwestie etyczne dotyczące wykorzystywania danych o pracownikach. W rozdziale czwartym zaprezentowano wyniki czterech badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w latach 2020–2022. Ich celem było ukazanie sposobu funkcjonowania controllingu personalnego oraz pomiaru HR w rzeczywistym kontekście organizacyjnym – zarówno z perspektywy specjalistów HR, jak i przedstawicieli controllingu oraz rachunkowości zarządczej.This book aims to systematize and critically examine theoretical concepts related to personnel controlling and HR analytics, as well as to explore their application in organizational practice. It encompasses a broad spectrum of approaches – ranging from traditional tools of management accounting to contemporary data-driven methods used in the analysis of human resources. The monograph comprises four chapters. Chapter One provides a theoretical framework for understanding human resource accounting and personnel controlling – two fundamental approaches to measuring and interpreting information concerning human resource. Chapter Two addresses the conceptual and functional distinctions between personnel controlling and other control-oriented mechanisms in human resource management, including internal control, HR compliance, and HR auditing. Particular attention is given to their objectives, functions, and modes of implementation within organizational settings. Chapter Three explores HR analytics as an emerging interdisciplinary domain situated at the intersection of human resource management, data analysis, and information technology. The chapter discusses terminological diversity, definitional debates, and the organizational prerequisites for effective HR analytics. It also identifies key challenges and controversies, such as competency gaps, methodological limitations, and ethical dilemmas related to employee data usage. Chapter Four presents findings from four empirical studies conducted between 2020 and 2022. The studies investigate the functioning of personnel controlling and HR measurement in real organizational contexts, reflecting the perspectives of HR practitioners as well as experts in controlling and management accounting
Various Representations of Geometric Objects in Spatial Relational and Spatial Object-Relational Databases Management Systems
No full textIn this paper we look at various kinds of representations of geometric objects in spatial relational (or object-relational) database management systems. We confront it with Simple Feature Access and SQL/MM (Part: 3) standards. We also try to fnd out some other representations of geometric objects that are used not only in traditional spatial database management systems but also in some NoSQL databases. We indicate functions and methods related to geometry representations such as WKT, WKB, GML, GeoJSON, GeoHash, KML, EWKT, EWKB, TWKB, HEXEWKB used in MySQL, Oracle XE and PostGIS/PostgreSQL. We illustrate this with examples, also showing some ideas for importing/exporting geometries between these database management systems
The problem of pro-Russianism of the Polish national minority in Lithuania after 2014

Próby ochrony języka litewskiego i pisania historii Litwy na nowo wywoływały spory o prawo do używania własnego nazwiska oraz o używanie języka przez mniejszości. Wspólne położenie tych dwóch największych mniejszości było wspólnym mianownikiem, abstrahującym od relacji między obydwoma narodami na arenie międzynarodowej. Liczne prorosyjskie wypowiedzi przedstawicieli Akcji Wyborczej Polaków na Litwie są tematem kontrowersyjnym, zwłaszcza w kraju tak obawiającym się rosyjskiej agresji.In the independent state of Lithuanians, a small Baltic nation, the two largest national minorities were Slavic groups – Poles and Russians. Attempts to protect the Lithuanian language and to rewrite the history of Lithuania caused disputes over the right to use one’s own surname and the use of language by minorities. The similar position of the two largest minorities was a common denominator, abstracting from the relations between the two nations in the international arena. Numerous pro-Russian statements by representatives of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania are a controversial topic, especially in a country so afraid of Russian aggression
A Counter Die with the Godziemba Coat of Arms from the Poznań Suburb of St. Wojciech
No full textThe Saint Wojciech suburbs, situated beyond the Wroniecka Gate and therefore also known as the Wroniecki suburb, were – alongside the Saint Marcin suburb – the oldest within the Poznań conurbation. They occupied a relatively expansive and physiographically diverse area located north of the city, bounded by the waters of the Warta River and its two left-bank tributaries, the Wierzbak and Rudnik (also known as the Bogdanka). The core of the settlement comprised lands clustered around the parish church dedicated to St. Wojciech. Initially owned by the Poznań cathedral chapter and later by the local parish priest, this area contrasted with the terrain directly in front of the Wroniecka Gate, which was under municipal control.Since its inception, the suburb played an exceptionally significant role in the economic system of Poznań. Its advantageous location – surrounded by efficient watercourses that facilitated the establishment of flour and fulling mills (of which there were at least a dozen) – along with abundant clay deposits suitable for pottery and brickmaking, attracted practitioners of specific trades, primarily potters, weavers, and clothiers. The first group, which included not only potters but also brickmakers, bricklayers, and those engaged in clay extraction, who had likely been active in the area even earlier, made their presence particularly evident around the second half of the 15th century. They constituted a dynamic, well-organised, and highly influential professional community.Although the first references to physical traces of the potters’ activity on the St. Wojciech Hill date back to the early 20th century, archaeological interest in the site did not emerge until several decades later, in the mid-1970s. Among the discoveries from that period is a noteworthy collection of 17th- and 18th-century ceramic wares, consisting primarily of pseudo-maiolica vessels and tiles. In 1993, near the centre of the old suburb – at the intersection of St. Wojciech and Podgórze Streets – relics dating from the second half of the 16th century and the early 17th century were uncovered. Over ten years later, four sondage sites were set up at the back of that workshop. In one of them, a set of clay pottery moulds was found – a patrix and three matrices. On the partially preserved patrix, a shield bearing the Godziemba coat of arms (in the variant with three roots) is depicted, held in both hands by a youngster, a so-called holder, with intricately curled, styled hair and wearing an attire from the period. The mould has been dated to the third quarter of 16th century.The Poznań patrix was likely produced on site, within the workshop, and according to the classification criteria proposed by the German expert H. Rosmanitz, it proves difficult to categorise. It is presumed to be a second-hand piece, incorporating original components that were replaced once they had worn out. In Poland, remains of such patrices have been found – based on the authors’ knowledge – only in Kraków, at 11 Loretańska Street (two fragments), and in Stargard (one fragment), at the intersection of Szewska and Włosiennicza Streets. In both cases, they were discovered within the remains of 16th-century potteries.Od swojego zarania przedmieście Święty Wojciech, położone na północ od miejskich murów, w widłach dwóch niewielkich cieków – Rudnika (Bogdanki) i Wierzbaka, lewobrzeżnych dopływów Warty, pełniło niezmiernie ważną rolę w systemie gospodarczym lokacyjnego Poznania. Tutaj, korzystając z wydajnych cieków wodnych i bogatych złóż gliny, stawiano młyny i folusze, zakładano warsztaty płóciennicze, a nade wszystko zajmowano się wytwórczością ceramiczną. W 1993 r., niemalże w centrum dawnego przedmieścia, u zbiegu ulic Św. Wojciech i Podgórze, natrafiono na relikty kaflarni z drugiej połowy XVI w. Kilkanaście lat później w jednym z sondaży założonym na zapleczu tegoż warsztatu zarejestrowano gliniane fragmenty renesansowej formy kaflarskiej – patrycy, ozdobionej tarczą z herbem Godziemba, podtrzymywaną przez młodego mężczyznę, tzw. trzymacza
