Town planning and local government: evaluation of urban development proposals
No full textThe current local governments in Poland have gained an opportunity to act as managers of towns and rural communes. Simultaneously, the economic recession forces a rational use of available resources. One means to this end is the ex ante evaluation of development proposals. Town planning offers a variety of evaluation methods using different criteria. To the local government, however, two seem to be the most important: effectiveness and costs. In fact, all the other criteria can be expressed through them. Evaluating whether the goals are met is obvious. The next step should then identify the capital costs to be covered by the local government plus other 'expenditures' by the community, such as social and opportunity costs. The aim of this paper is to point at the potential use of evaluation by local governments, with some theoretical contribution to the evaluation criteria

No full textRynek usług lotniczych w Polsce i na świecie dynamicznie się rozwija, napędzany rosnącą liczbą pasażerów oraz wzrastającą konkurencją między przewoźnikami. W obliczu zmieniających się oczekiwań klientów, kluczowe staje się identyfikowanie i zarządzanie wartością dla pasażera. Monografia koncentruje się na określeniu atrybutów wartości dla klienta oraz instrumentów jej kreowania przez linie lotnicze i porty. Opiera się na badaniach literaturowych oraz wieloetapowych analizach empirycznych, obejmujących obserwacje usług lotniczych, ankiety wśród pasażerów, wywiady z ekspertami oraz szerokie studium bibliograficzne. Analiza rynków i nowych trendów wskazuje na istotne zmiany w strukturze usług oraz oczekiwań klientów. Wartość dla pasażera kształtowana jest przez wiele czynników, w tym jakość terminalu, kompetencje personelu, sprawność operacyjna oraz efektywność komunikacji z podróżnymi. Autorka przedstawia autorski schemat kreowania wartości, wsparty wynikami badań na pasażerach i ekspertach branży. Publikacja składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Pierwszy omawia rynek usług lotniczych i jego uwarunkowania. Drugi analizuje wartość klienta w kontekście marketingowym. Trzeci koncentruje się na instrumentach zarządzania wartością, w tym lojalności, komunikacji cyfrowej i wpływie mediów społecznościowych. Ostatni rozdział zawiera wyniki badań dotyczących praktycznego wdrożenia koncepcji marketingu wartości na rynku lotniczym w Polsce. Opracowanie dostarcza rekomendacji dla kadry zarządzającej portami i przewoźnikami, wskazując na kluczowe aspekty budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej w dynamicznie zmieniającym się środowisku transportu lotniczego
The Correspondences Between Fiction and Non-Fiction in the Work of Camille Pert
No full textReflections on the theory of the art of writing often accompany the work of a writer. Camille Pert can be considered a particular representative of this trend; her keen interest in social issues led her to devote several pages to women’s work and to women’s status in marriage. Our analysis will focus on the similarities and differences between Pert’s vision of women’s role in public and private spaces as expressed in one of her how-to-books Le Bonheur conjugal – and her novels Vénale, Leur égale, L’Autel and La Petite Cady series. We will also explore the significant didactic component that prevails in Pert’s oeuvre, which is marked by generic ambiguity.Des réflexions sur la théorie de l’art d’écrire accompagnent souvent l’œuvre du tel ou tel écrivain. Camille Pert s’inscrit dans cette tendance de manière singulière ; son vif intérêt pour les questions sociales l’induit à consacrer plusieurs pages au travail de la femme, aussi bien qu’au sujet de son statut dans le mariage. Notre analyse portera sur les correspondances entre la vision de la femme dans des espaces publics et privés envisagée dans un travail théorique de Pert – Le Bonheur conjugal – et sa mise en œuvre dans les romans choisis de l’auteure (Vénale, Leur égale, L’Autel et la série de La Petite Cady). On s’intéressera également à la forte présence de la composante didactique, vue dans le contexte de l’ambiguïté générique propre à l’œuvre de Pert

No full text„Jak Ty będziesz zadowolony, to i ja będę zadowolona” – pisała Paulina Wielopolska do swojego męża Aleksandra. Ta deklaracja, zawarta w jednym z prywatnych listów margrabiny, staje się punktem wyjścia do głębszej refleksji nad relacją małżeńską dwojga ludzi osadzonych w kontekście burzliwej historii XIX-wiecznej Polski. Niniejsze wydawnictwo źródłowe prezentuje wybór korespondencji małżeńskiej Pauliny z Potockich Wielopolskiej i margrabiego Aleksandra Wielopolskiego z lat 1860–1862. Zebrane listy stanowią cenny materiał naukowy, dokumentujący zarówno życie prywatne tytułowej pary, jak i tło polityczne Królestwa Polskiego w przededniu powstania styczniowego. Publikowane egodokumenty ukazują złożoną relację małżeńską, w której osobiste emocje i lojalność splatają się z polityczną aktywnością oraz napięciami epoki. Szczególną uwagę zwraca rola Pauliny Wielopolskiej – kobiety funkcjonującej w świecie ograniczeń społeczno-prawnych, a jednak wspierającej męża w jego działalności publicznej. Wydawnictwo to może stanowić wartościowe źródło dla historyków, badaczy dziejów politycznych i społecznych XIX wieku, a także dla tych, którzy zajmują się historią kobiet czy kulturą elit Królestwa Polskiego.‘If you are satisfied, I will be satisfied too’ wrote Paulina Wielopolska to her husband Aleksander. This declaration, contained in one of the margravine’s private letters, becomes the starting point for a reflection on the marital relationship of two people set in the context of the turbulent history of the Kingdom of Poland. The book presents a selection of the correspondence of Paulina Wielopolska, née Potocka, and margrave Aleksander Wielopolska from 1860–1862. The letters constitute valuable scientific material, documenting both the private life of this couple and the political background of the Kingdom of Poland on the eve of the January Uprising. The published egodocuments show a complex marital relationship in which personal emotions and loyalty intertwine with political activity and the tensions of the era. Particular attention is paid to the role of Paulina Wielopolska – a woman functioning in a world of social and legal restrictions, and yet supporting her husband in his public activities. This publication can be a valuable source for historians, researchers of the political and social history of the 19th century, as well as for those dealing with the history of women or the culture of the elites of the Kingdom of Poland
The Admissibility of Contractual Limitation of the Principle of Freedom of Work in a Negative Context
No full textThe author analyzes the concept of freedom of work and the prohibition of forced and compulsory labor, with a focus on the negative aspect of freedom of work. Negative freedom of work is associated with the concept of labor based on the institution of a contract, i.e., the obligational relationship between the employee and the employer. As demonstrated by the legal provisions analyzed in this study, negative freedom of work is not absolute and may be subject to certain limitations. The aim of the article is to explore whether these limitations can also take the form of contractual restrictions. To address this question, the author examines the principle of freedom of contract and its limitations within the framework of labor law, and attempts to identify the boundaries of the parties' autonomy of will in the context of employment relationships.Autorka dokonuje analizy pojęcia wolności pracy oraz zakazu pracy przymusowej i obowiązkowej, skupiając się na wolności pracy w jej ujęciu negatywnym. Negatywna wolność pracy związana jest z koncepcją pracy opierającą się na instytucji kontraktu, czyli więzi obligacyjnej zachodzącej pomiędzy pracownikiem a pracodawcą. Jak wynika z analizowanych w niniejszym opracowaniu przepisów, negatywna wolność pracy nie ma charakteru absolutnego i może podlegać określonym ograniczeniom. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie, czy ograniczenia te mogą mieć również charakter umowny. W celu udzielenia odpowiedzi na to pytanie, autorka przeprowadza analizę zasady swobody kontraktowania oraz jej ograniczeń na gruncie prawa pracy i podejmuje próbę wskazania granic autonomii woli stron stosunku pracy w tym zakresie
The Impact of Artificial Intelligence Development on Occupational Health and Safety – A Panorama of the Phenomenon
No full textThis article presents a broad picture of the impact of artificial intelligence on occupational health and safety, taking into account both the opportunities and challenges associated with this process. On the one hand, artificial intelligence has great potential for automating processes related to monitoring and controlling occupational risks and improving working conditions. At the same time, there are numerous risks associated with the use of this technology in the work environment. The article also addresses the issue of ethics and privacy in the context of the use of AI in the work environment, as well as risk management, pointing to the need for appropriate regulation.Artykuł przedstawia szeroki obraz wpływu sztucznej inteligencji na bezpieczeństwo i higienę pracy, z uwzględnieniem zarówno szans, jak i wyzwań związanych z tym procesem. Z jednej strony sztuczna inteligencja ma ogromny potencjał w zakresie automatyzacji procesów związanych z monitorowaniem i kontrolowaniem ryzyka zawodowego oraz z poprawą warunków pracy. Jednocześnie pojawiają się liczne zagrożenia związane ze stosowaniem tej technologii w środowisku pracy. Artykuł podejmuje także kwestię etyki i prywatności w kontekście stosowania AI w środowisku pracy, jak również zarządzania ryzykiem, wskazując na potrzebę odpowiednich regulacji prawnych
