    ANALYSIS OF STUDENT MISCONCEPTIONS ON THE MOLE CONCEPT MATERIAL USING A THREE TIER DIAGNOSTIC TEST INSTRUMENT

    These misconceptions can occur due to students' low understanding of basic mathematics which is sustainable in the previous school. This study aims to determine the percentage of students' misconception level through the Three-Tier test instrument on the mole concept material of class X at SMAN 18 Medan. Data collection techniques were carried out by conducting interviews and observations to teachers and distributing written tests in the form of three-tier diagnostic tests consisting of 25 multiple choice questions. The data that has been obtained shows that there are misconceptions in class X students in the material of mole concept. The results of this study showed that Class X students of SMA NEGERI 18 MEDAN had 53.41% misconceptions, 34.94% understood the concept, and 11.65% didn’t understand the concept

    THE UNDERSTANDING OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS TEACHERS OF THE CONCEPT OF ESD: A MILESTONE TO MANIFEST SDGs

    Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a milestone to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. The concept of Education for Sustainable Development must be instilled as early as possible so that students are accustomed to behaving and behaving with the importance of environmental sustainability. This survey research was conducted with the aim of finding out how deep the understanding of teachers. The study was conducted on 46 primary school teachers in Indonesia with random sampling. These respondents are teachers who teach in grades 1 to 6. The data collection instrument uses questionnaires with closed question types (yes or no responses) and open question types to explore the understanding of the concept of Education for Sustainable Development and its implementation in primary school. Research data is analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of percentages, tables and diagrams. The results of the analysis showed that most (52%) teachers did not understand the concept of ESD, while another 48% have understood ESD concepts, although only 68% of teachers who are understand with ESD concepts have integrated ESD concepts in learning.. This is due to several things including the lack of upgrading teacher knowledge who are less concerned about the problems that are currently occurring and the lack of government socialization related to the importance of ESD for the sustainability of life.The recommendation to the results of this study is that the government should pay special attention to conducting trainings for primary school teachers related to the concept of ESD and how to implement it in primary schoo

    Mengkaji dampak strategi pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap literasi sains siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 7 Banjarmasin melalui penggunaan LKS non-eksperimental yang berkaitan dengan kelestarian tanah dan kehidupan adalah tujuan utama penelitian ini. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Banjarmasin. Kelas IX dari Ruang A dan Kelas IX dari Ruang B yang masing-masing berjumlah 26 siswa menjadi contoh dalam penelitian ini. Sebuah metode yang dikenal sebagai purposive sampling digunakan untuk memilih sampel. Kelas IX di ruang A dijadikan sebagai kelompok kontrol, sedangkan kelas IX di ruang B dijadikan sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Pemeriksaan dan pencatatan merupakan sarana pengumpulan informasi. Dengan menggunakan Asymp.Sig, kami dapat menganalisis sejauh mana siswa memiliki literasi sains. Karena hasil uji 2 sisi kurang dari 0,05 (0,000), kita boleh menerima H1 dan menolak H0. Tingkat literasi sains siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Banjarmasin ditemukan terdampak oleh strategi pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang menggunakan LKS non-eksperimental tentang tanah dan kelestarian kehidupan

    Mathematical literacy skills in Indonesia are still low, this can be seen in the 2022 PISA results which state that Indonesia scored below the average OECD standard score. This study aims to analyze junior high school students' mathematical literacy skills in solving fractional rational number problems in terms of gender. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this research were 32 class VII students of state junior high schools in Sukoharjo district who then selected 6 subjects to be interviewed. In this research, data collection was carried out using tests, documentation and interviews. This research used an instrument in the form of 3 questions on a mathematical literacy ability test on fractions and an interview guide. Data analysis in this research was carried out by data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this research show that in terms of indicators for formulating mathematical situations, male and female students have not been able to apply these indicators in all questions. This is based on student work results that do not match these indicators. In indicators using mathematical concepts, only LA, PA, and LB students were able to apply these indicators correctly. LA, PA, and LB students are able to answer questions by applying facts, rules, algorithms and mathematical structures correctly. Meanwhile, the third indicator was met by LA and LS students in question number 2 and LA, PA and LB students in question number 3

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan GeoGebra, model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode eksperimen quasi dengan desain penelitian Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yakni seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 13 Kota Sukabumi dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 87 siswa yang terbagi menjadi tiga kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa tes tertulis dengan tiga buah soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada materi SPLDV dan lembar observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning, model pembelajaran Discovery Learningberbantuan GeoGebra lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung, dan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil uji scheffe dengan komparasi nilai F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel

    FLearn UKSW adalah sistem pembelajaran berbasis online yang digunakan oleh Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) sejak tahun 2008. FLearn UKSW merupakan salah satu jenis Learning Management System (LMS) yang digunakan untuk memudahkan proses pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ) bagi mahasiswa dan dosen. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada evaluasi tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa dalam penggunaan F-Learn UKSW. Dengan menggunakan metode User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) untuk mendapatkan tanggapan dari mahasiswa terhadap pengalaman/pengaruh saat menggunakan Flearn UKSW dengan enam skala yang ada pada metode UEQ. Metode ini menggunakan kuesioner untuk menguji dan mengevaluasi tingkat pengalaman pengguna, yang terdiri dari 26 item yang mencakup aspek-aspek metode UEQ. Berdasarkan evaluasi dengan metode User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) pada Flearn UKSW, ditemukan kesan yang lumayan positif secara keseluruhan terhadap aplikasi tersebut. Hasil dari uji benchmark UEQ, Flexible Learning Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (Flearn) pada skala daya tarik (attractiveness), kejelasan (perspicuity), efisiensi (efficiency), ketepatan (dependability), stimulasi (stimulation), dan kebaruan (novelty) memperoleh nilai evaluasi normal dan dikategorikan dalam benchmark Kurang Baik

    Teaching English in the Era of Disruption 4.0: Challenges, Innovation, and Opportunities

    The advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, commonly referred to as Industry 4.0, has ushered in significant technological advancements and disruptions across industries, including education. The teaching of English as a second language has been particularly impacted, with digital tools, artificial intelligence, and online platforms reshaping traditional pedagogical approaches. This paper explores the challenges faced by English teachers in adapting to these changes, as well as the innovative teaching methodologies enabled by Industry 4.0 technologies. We discuss the role of technology in enhancing learner engagement, the need for teacher upskilling, and the potential implications for English language proficiency in a globalized economy. Using case studies from various educational contexts, we propose strategies to successfully integrate Industry 4.0 technologies into English language teaching while preserving the human element of education. The findings suggest that while technology enhances learning efficiency, teacher adaptability and continuous professional development remain key to leveraging the benefits of the 4.0 era

    THE IMPACT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE 5E LEARNING CYCLE MODEL ON ARABIC LANGUAGE LEARNING OUTCOMES AT MTS HASYIM ASY’ARI, BATU

    This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle model in improving students’ Arabic language learning outcomes at MTs Hasym Asy’ari, Batu. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The pedagogical intervention, comprising the constructivist learning cycle phases (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elabora-tion, and Evaluation), was implemented over an effective period of eight weeks. Descriptive statistical analysis showed an increase in the mean score from 63.87 to 80.17, with a gain score of 16.30. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test confirmed the data followed a normal distribution (p > 0.05), validating the use of parametric statistics. Inferential analy-sis using a paired samples t-test yielded t(29) = 6.004, p < 0.05, indi-cating a statistically significant difference between pre and post interven-tion conditions

    Development of Mobile Gamified Interface for Japanese Language Learning through Design Thinking

    Learning Japanese scripts such as hiragana and katakana often present significant challenges for beginners due to the similarity in character shapes, the large number of characters to memorize, complex stroke orders, and the limited use of engaging and interactive learning media. Without proper learning strategies and tools, learners may quickly lose motivation and face difficulties in mastering these basic writing systems. This study aims to design the interface of a mobile-based gamified learning platform intended to increase learner motivation and improve the overall effectiveness of the learning process. The Design Thinking methodology was employed to gain in-depth insights into user needs, involving five iterative stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The resulting interface integrates gamification elements such as points, badges, levels, and quests to create a more engaging user experience. Usability testing conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) produced an average score of 82.5, which falls under the “excellent” category with a letter grade of B. These findings suggest that the developed interface is intuitive, easy to use, and well-received by users

    ANALISIS SENTIMEN TWITTER TERHADAP KONFLIK DI PAPUA MENGGUNAKAN PERBANDINGAN NAIVE BAYES DAN SVM

    Konflik di Papua merupakan isu yang kompleks dan telah berlangsung selama beberapa dekade, melibatkan berbagai faktor seperti politik, ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya. Ketegangan antara pemerintah Indonesia dan kelompok separatis Papua sering kali memicu konflik bersenjata, pelanggaran hak asasi manusia, dan ketidakstabilan regional. Konflik ini juga menarik perhatian berbagai pihak, termasuk masyarakat internasional dan pengguna media sosial, khususnya di platform Twitter.Data yang dikumpulkan dari Twitter menggunakan kata kunci terkait konflik Papua. Proses analisis meliputi tahap pengumpulan data, pra-pemrosesan teks, dan pelabelan sentimen (positif, negatif, netral). Penelitian ini menggunakan 5723 data yang diperoleh melalui teknik web scraping terkait topik tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan performa dua algoritma klasifikasi yang populer dalam analisis sentimen, yaitu Naïve Bayes dan Support Vector Machine (SVM). Sebelum perbandingan dilakukan, optimasi SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) digunakan untuk menyeimbangkan jumlah data minoritas dan mayoritas, sehingga kedua algoritma dapat belajar secara lebih efektif dari setiap kelas sentimen. Hasil perbandingan menunjukkan bahwa algoritma Naïve Bayes memiliki akurasi sebesar 95%, sedangkan SVM mencapai akurasi 99%, dengan presisi 99%, recall 98%, dan F1-Score 99%. Evaluasi performa dilakukan dengan menganalisis confusion matrix dari setiap algoritma. Kesimpulannya, SVM dapat menjadi pilihan yang lebih baik untuk analisis sentimen mengenai konflik Papua. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memahami opini masyarakat terkait konflik di Papua
