Combination of pulsed electric fields and ultrasounds technologies for mycotoxins mitigation in grape juice
Grape juice has increased market share due to its rich phenolic compounds, linked to preventive effects against cardiovascular diseases and cancer. However, concerns arise as studies report the presence of mycotoxins in juices, posing significant health risks. Pulsed electric fields (PEF) and ultrasounds (USN) have been explored as an eco-friendly tool for contaminants mitigation. The present study explores the effect of the sequential combination (PEF + USN) for mycotoxins mitigation in grape juice. For this, grape juice was elaborated and spiked individually with Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), Aflatoxin B2 (AFB2), Ochratoxin A (OTA), Enniatin B (ENNB), and Enniatin B1 (ENNB1) at a concentration of 100 µg/L. Then, mycotoxins were extracted from treated samples and non-treated controls employing Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction (DLLME) and determined by Liquid Chromatography couple to mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The reductions obtained were up to 48 % for ENNB1, 36 % for ENNB, 21 % for OTA, and 15 % for both of AFB1 and AFB2. Thus, the combination of PEF + USN showed interesting potential to be applied for mycotoxins mitigation

Development of the NEST program: Nature Education for Sustainable Teaching: a training course to foster knowledge, self-efficacy, and willingness to teach outdoors
Outdoor education (OE) is increasingly recognized as a key pedagogical approach to foster holistic child development, wellbeing, and sustainable attitudes. While well established in Northern European educational systems, its adoption in Southern Europe remains limited, often due to cultural and institutional barriers and insufficient teacher preparation. This study presents the design and developmentoftheNESTprogram(NatureEducationforSustainable Teaching), a structured training course aimed at enhancing student teachers' and educators' knowledge, self-efficacy, and willingness to teach outdoors in early childhood education. The program was developed through a participatory co-creation process that actively involved national and international experts in pedagogy and OE, from both academic and professional practice contexts. Throughthis collaborative process, the experts contributed to identifying priority themes and shaping the overall structure of the curriculum. The outcome is a four-module program that combines theoretical input, experiential activities, and reflective practices, and is grounded in experiential, transformative, and sociocultural learning theories. The NEST program represents an innovative and evidence-based framework for integrating OE into teacher education. By overcoming the methodological gaps of earlier initiatives, it lays the groundwork for targeted training pathways that advance a pedagogical culture more responsive to the interconnections between education and the natural environmen
Tax effect on Spanish SME optimum debt maturity structure
This paper analyzes the influence of the tax effect on Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) debt maturity structure. This study builds a dynamic adjustment model which endogenizes optimum structure and assumes the existence of adjustment costs. Using Spanish data, the model is estimated using a system-GMM regression to a complete panel (11,028 firms) covering 1997-2004. SMEs adjust to their target at a speed of about 37% annually, the equivalent of employing about 20 months to cover only half of the existing gap. This rate is lower than those reported in other similar papers studying large companies with publicly tradable equity
Updating titanosaurian diversity (Sauropoda) from the Late Cretaceous of Spain: the fossil sites of Laño and Chera
Three titanosaurian sauropods are well-known from the Campanian-Maastrichtian of the Ibero-Armorican Island (southwestern Europe): Lirainosaurus astibiae from Spain, and Ampelosaurus atacis and Atsinganosaurus velauciensis from France. However, a higher titanosaurian diversity has been suggested for this island, a hypothesis that has gained traction in recent years as a result of new discoveries in fossil sites from Spain and southern France. An estimation of the titanosaurian diversity in the late Campanian-early Maastrichtian of the Iberian Peninsula is made here on the basis of the available information from the three fossil sites that have yielded the best preserved fossil remains: Laño (Condado de Treviño), Chera (Valencia), and Lo Hueco (Cuenca). The results confirm the hypothesis of a higher titanosaurian diversity in the Iberian Peninsula: from one to, at least, three taxa. Moreover, we also suggest the presence of two different titanosaurian morphotypes in the site of Chera, with one of them representing Lirainosauru
Relationship Between Online Trolling and Dark Tetrad Personality Traits: A Meta-Analysis
Background: Online trolling refers to a specific form of disruptive behavior in digital environments, aimed atinterrupting interactions, provoking other users, and drawing them into fruitless arguments. The Dark Tetrad personalitytraits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy and sadism) have been linked to various forms of antisocial behaviorin virtual contexts. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted across the PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus,ERIC, and Web of Science Core Collection databases to identify relevant studies examining these variables. A total of24 relevant articles from 11 countries were identified, comprising a combined sample size of 14,044 participants. Fourrandom-effects meta-analyses were performed using Pearson's r coefficients. Results: The results reveal a positiveassociation between all four personality traits and greater tendency to engage in online trolling. Meta-regressionanalyses show that the assessment instruments used moderated some of the observed associations. No evidence ofpublication bias was detected. Conclusions: In general, the relationship between Dark Tetrad traits and online trollingwas found to be positive, helping to explain individual differences in i
A reflecting sundial with cusps of the caustics on a straight line segment
Given a convex mirror curve and a sheaf of parallel incident rays, a caustic curve with at least one cusp appears. This is the principle on which the construction of reflecting sundials is founded. When the sheaf of parallel incident rays changes along the day, the cusp of the caustic curve traces out a new curve. The initial convex mirror curve for which its caustic curves have cusps along a straight line segment is studied. An intrinsic equation is obtained for it and, after numerical integration, the resulting curve is compared with the solution given by C. M. Lowne
