Artificial Intelligence has been an area of outstanding development for the past couple of
years, with significant advancements that have made organizations allocate high volumes of
investment into research and practical applications. It is critical to ensure those investments
yield meaningful business outcomes. To guarantee that organizations have the right
foundations to adopt Artificial Intelligence is a challenging and complex problem, considering
the subjectivity and the number of factors that can affect the adoption process. For that reason,
and because the existing scientific knowledge requires more studies, it’s unquestionable the
benefits that can be achieved with the creation of a structured and holistic model that can
identify the critical success factors that contribute to the successful adoption of Artificial
Intelligence, in particular within Sales and Marketing organizations. This dissertation
proposes a structured model for identifying those success factors using a methodology based
on the Strategic Options Development and Analysis (SODA) approach in conjunction with
the DEcision MAking Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique. The results of
this work allow the organization’s leadership to identify the areas to focus on to ensure
successful adoption of Artificial Intelligence, allowing for a more structured approach to
investments and increasing the Return on Investment.
and Analysis (SODA) em conjunto com a técnica DEcision MAking Trial and Evaluation
Laboratory (DEMATEL).
The digital transformation and new media trends have changed consumer behavior. Consumers, especially younger ones, are more receptive to digital influencer marketing on TikTok, and one of the trends that has emerged from this scenario is the popularity of dupes makeup products, encouraged by digital influencers.
The aim of this research was therefore to identify the influence of TikTok on the purchase and perception of dupes among young Portuguese women between the ages of eighteen and thirty.
In order to analyze the hypotheses supporting this research, a quantitative study was carried out by applying a questionnaire survey to a sample of 154 individuals who use the TikTok social network.
The validation analysis of the research model based on the Use and Gratification Theory was positive, as the results of the study validated all the hypotheses. More specifically, they showed that the gratification of the content watched on the TikTok social network, specifically Hedonic Value, Normative Influence and Self-Representation, have a positive and significant impact on Resonance. In addition, the analysis found that consumer Resonance has a positive correlation with both Brand Image and Purchase Intention
Perceived internal corporate social responsibility and employees' proactive behavior: The mediating role of intentions to start personal projects and the moderating role of perceived external prestige
This study deepens our understanding of the micro-level processes underlying the relationship between employees' internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) perceptions (perceived internal CSR) and their proactive behavior. Drawing on the self-regulation and social information processing perspectives, we propose that perceived internal CSR enacts employees' intentions to start personal projects within the organization. We contend that this relationship is contingent upon employees' perceptions of the external prestige of the organization. Additionally, we argue that this interplay influences employees' proactive behavior, specifically innovative and risk-taking actions. Employing a multimethod approach, comprising a multisource field study involving 640 employee-supervisor dyads and a two-by-two experimental design with 152 respondents, our findings demonstrate a positive association between perceived internal CSR and employees' intentions to start personal projects. This effect is stronger when employees perceive the organization as highly prestigious. As predicted, this interaction positively influences innovative and risk-taking behaviors. This research provides valuable insights into the nuanced dynamics between internal CSR and proactive behavior, offering implications for scholars and practitioners in human resource development.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Cost-effective and operationally sustainable supply chain inventory planning: A mathematical programming approach
The concerns about economically and operationally sustainable supply chains are increasingly at the forefront. It is urgent to create innovative models and less costly systems. This can be achieved through using more efficient supply chains and the rational use of resources. Inventory management has been widely studied by several authors. Nevertheless, there is still a small number of studies exploring its application at the supply chain level, despite being widely recognized that the collaboration between partners in the supply chain is critical to achieve more efficient inventory management decisions. In fact, such a collaboration fosters the global optimization of supply chains. The inventory supply chain planning problem is addressed through the use of the continuous review (r, Q) policy, aiming at optimizing inventories throughout a supply chain while defining the amount of products transported among facilities over time. For that purpose, a mixed integer linear programming model is constructed, and a supply chain with multiple periods, multiple warehouses, and multiple retailers is modeled as a reference. This model adds to existing literature on supply chain inventory management by extending existing models to a supply chain with multiple periods and warehouses. The model, hereafter called CRP2InvSC model, allows to determine inventory levels, order quantities Q and reorder points r for each time period and each facility on a supply chain. Products flows between supply chain entities are also modeled. To demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model, a supply network case study is utilized.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Enterprise architecture assessment and user satisfaction model estimate in statistical organizations of African countries
The objective of this study is to assess the current state of enterprise architecture (EA) and estimate the user satisfaction model (USM) in Statistical Organizations of African Countries (SOACs). The following inferential statistical techniques were used: hypothesis tests, principal components analysis (PCA), and multiple linear regression, to perform data analysis based on the judgments and opinions of the managers and Information Technology (IT) staff of SOACs. The study is based on several variables related to the performance and support of Information Systems and Technology (IST) in SOACs. The results confirmed the high complexity of IST in SOACs, which is further aggravated by the cyclical nature of statistical surveys and, for this reason, the poor integration and reuse of technological solutions associated with the absence of a formal EA. The results also led us to the conclusion that, as noted in general, in SOACs, user satisfaction is also positively influenced by IST when it is active, available, and reliable. An EA built from scratch will ensure optimized IST implementations, reducing common constraints and increasing the chances of getting real value from IST resources.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio

The Euro area government spending multiplier in demand- and supply-driven recessions
We estimate government spending multipliers in demand- and supply-driven recessions for the Euro Area. Multipliers in a moderately demand-driven recession are two to three times larger than in a moderately supply-driven recession, with the difference between multipliers being non-zero with very high probability. More generally, multipliers are inversely correlated with the deviation of inflation from its trend, implying that the more demand-driven a recession, the higher the multiplier. Multipliers range from 0.5 in supply-driven recessions to about 2 in demand-driven recessions. The econometric approach leverages a factor-augmented interacted vector-autoregression model purified of expectations (FAIPVAR-X). The model captures the time-varying state of the business-cycle including strongly and moderately demand- and supply-driven recessions, by taking the whole distribution of inflation deviations from trend into account.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
The impact on luxury brand coolness of sustainable materials in the perceptions of traditional and sharing economy consumers
Brands tend to seek to incorporate coolness into their products to attract and influence consumer
behavior. Coolness has been shown in various studies to enhance consumer attitudes towards a
brand, making it a valuable marketing tool. With luxury goods becoming more accessible to the
masses, the traditional definition and perception of luxury are being challenged, presenting a new
set of obstacles for luxury brands. Additionally, the rise of sustainability has created a need for
luxury enterprises to integrate environmentally conscious practices into their business models.
However, there is still limited research on consumer demand and preferences for sustainable luxury
products.
This study aims to address this gap by examining how traditional and sharing economy
consumption impact the relationship between sustainability and brand coolness. The research
methodology involved the collection of data through an online survey from 290 participants, and
the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric hypothesis tests,
and multiple linear regressions.
According to the findings, the product with a sustainable condition was perceived as cooler
compared to the one without it. Furthermore, respondents who had higher ratings for traditional
consumption exhibited a positive correlation with both sustainable and non-sustainable products.
However, those with a more traditional consumption profile preferred the non-sustainable product,
rating it higher than the sustainable one. Marketers can consider this when designing their future
research studies and marketing strategies by incorporating sustainability into luxury products,
understanding their target audience's values and preferences regarding sustainability, and
communicating the value of sustainable products.
comportamento do consumidor.
No entanto, ainda existe pouca
The role of peer observation and peer feedback in the promotion of self-regulated learning: An integrative review
Self-regulated learning (SRL) involves the cognitive, metacognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of knowledge acquisition and predicts academic achievement. This process can be enhanced through collaboration, particularly peer observation and feedback. Despite extensive research on SRL, the impact of peer observation and feedback in secondary education has been underexplored. This review aims to map the existing literature and analyze factors affecting SRL development through peer observation and feedback in secondary education, employing a systematic search adhering to PRISMA guidelines. Eighteen studies from seven databases, published between 2012 and 2023, were selected, involving 1,132 students aged 13 to 18 across various fields (e.g. mathematics, sciences, languages, arts). Most studies focused on upper secondary school (66.7%). Results indicate that peer observation and feedback have a positive impact on SRL. Collaborative activities were common, with some using inquiry-based, constructivist, or reflective learning strategies. Most studies explicitly described peer feedback, while peer observation was often implicit. Effective SRL promotion requires systematic, intentional collaboration led by motivated teachers. High subject-related confidence, academic engagement, and strong social and emotional skills, such as self-awareness and communication, further support SRL. This review highlights the importance of integrating structured peer observation and feedback into educational policies to optimize lifelong learning.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Developing an app proposal for tuk tuk service management
In most tuk tuk companies, outdated methods are used in the daily management of the company, which makes the processes slow and time-consuming. So, it was found that it was necessary to use information technologies to make tuk tuk companies more effective in daily management. Therefore, the main objective of this project was the development of an application, that works like an information system, for tuk tuk companies. The requirement gathering carried out, allowed conclusions to be reached about the type of information that was to be relevant in the application as well as its functionalities. It was concluded that it is necessary to have two types of applications, a mobile and a desktop. The App brings advantages related to the reduction of errors in the database, overview and knowledge of the employees’ work, and improvement in time management that can increase the productivity of the company’s managers.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
