Ukraina och informationskrigets nya vägar : Sociala medier, krigsrapportering och desinformation
No full textSociala medier spelar en central roll i nyhetsflödet från kriget i Ukraina. Både som källor och som plattformar för distribution och cirkulation av innehåll. I de sociala medieflödena finns viktiga vittnesskildringar från människor som befinner sig i krigets centrum, men också desinformation och konspirationsteorier. I Ukraina har den sociala medieplattformen Telegram blivit den viktigaste källan till information för många människor, trots att den har ryska rötter. Den här boken undersöker nyhetsflödet från kriget i Ukraina, men också människors medieanvändning och förtroende för den information de möter genom olika typer av medier. Den är resultatet av ett samarbete mellan svenska och ukrainska forskare som analyserat tusentals artiklar och uppdateringar på sociala medier, gjort intervjuer med medieanvändare i Ukraina, och analyserat svenska folkets nyhetskonsumtion. Allt detta lägger grunden för en analys av ett nytt och framväxande hybridmediesystem, där traditionella, alternativa, och sociala medier konkurrerar om människors uppmärksamhet, men också ger olika bilder av krigets orsaker och konsekvenser.

No full textThis report examines the historical image of Sweden in the United States against the backdrop of recent debates on how Sweden is portrayed abroad. The Swedish–American relationship is important for Sweden – culturally, economically, and politically. This is highly relevant given current security concerns and Sweden’s recent NATO application. The USA is also a key arena for the global dissemination of perceptions about Sweden, which is critical in today’s increasingly polarized media landscape. The report does not aim to present a comprehensive overview of the entirety of American image of Sweden but focuses on events and occasions where attention to Sweden and Swedish affairs has both quantitatively intensified and qualitatively changed.

Tänkandet som ett välvande sker genom att ord revolverar [revolvere]. Detta leder till upptäckten av att vara involverad [involvere] i världen. Eftersom man är involverad vill man försöka evolvera [evolvere] det i vilket man är involverad: strukturen är volvere–revolvere–involvere–evolvere. Detta hänger samman med varats utgjutning [diffusio] som ingjuts [infusio] i människorna, varför människan ur förskingring vill fusionera [fusio] sin verklighet. Ur detta uppstår confusio. Hos Augustinus bestäms människan av ett tredelat confusio: kosmologiskt som upphov, biologiskt som skam och kognitivt som förvirring.The following thesis takes as its point of departure the implicit Augustinian view of thinking. Besides his own definition of thinking as a ”collecting” in the Confessions (and his view of thinking in On the Trinity), Augustine also suggests thinking as volving [volvere]. This kind of thinking is structured by words revolving [revolvere] in the mind. This, is suggested, by necessity leads to an involvement [involvere] in the world. The fact of being involved in the world also means striving to evolve [evolvere] that in which you are involved: the structure is volvere–revolvere–involvere–evolvere. This, in turn, is due to ”being” being diffused [diffusio], which then is infused [infusio] into human beings. As a result, the human being tries by thinking to fuse [fusio] reality from dispersion into unity. From this, confusion [confusio] emerges. Here, the structure is diffusio–infusio–fusio–confusio. The aim of this thesis is to envelope and place what for Augustine is predominantly a negative notion of confusio in the right manner as a generative and dynamic notion, structured in a threefold manner: cosmologically as origin, biologically as shame, cognitively as confusion. Mellan förstörelse och berättande : En filosofisk undersökning av narrativets kraft i det genusbaserade våldets efterdyningar
No full textThe purpose of this thesis is to emphasize the significance of narrative in giving voice to survivors of gender-based violence, and in breaking the silence surrounding this issue – matters that statistical reports tend to overlook. The voices of survivors of gender-based violence are often disregarded or not heard in statistical reports, despite their significance for understanding and addressing it. Therefore, I seek to deepen our understanding of the consequences of gender-based violence by reading survivors’ narratives alongside a number of philosophical thinkers who are not typically read together, but whose work can contribute to a better understanding of the violence itself and the narration that arises in its wake, namely Adriana Cavarero, Susan J. Brison, Kelly Oliver, and María Lugones. By applying several philosophical concepts to listen to what the narratives of the victims express, I also intend to contextualize them within a larger societal framework, to better understand the impact of gender-based violence. I will be drawing from Susan Brison’s concept aftermath, Adriana Cavarero’s discussion of relating narratives, horrorism, and narrative against destruction, as well as María Lugones’s concept “world”-travelling. The narratives I engage tend to convey that gaslighting is a significant aspect of the abuse, which is why I choose to analyze it with reference to Kelly Oliver’s work. My hope is that my thesis will complement and enrich the quantitative and statistical approach represented by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. I prioritize the voices of survivors, allowing their narratives to guide the discourse. This approach, influenced by Cavarero, emphasizes the importance of centering the experiences of those directly affected by violence, and by listening to their stories I want to increase awareness and understanding of the violence perpetrated against them. In the face of what Cavarero calls ontological violence, it becomes important to start listening to the voices of the survivors, as they need to be heard. I also aim to initiate societal debates and actions that can lead to change and support for those affected by gender-based violence
The fantastic gothic of the youth : An examination of the presence of gothic traits, as defined by Fred Botting in Gothic (2013), in the fantasy series Septimus Heap (2005-2013) by Angie Sage
No full textThis essay will examine gothic traits in young adult and children's fantasy, specifically the fantasy series Septimus Heap (2005-2013) by Angie Sage. In order to get a better overview of the material i will be looking at the series as a whole and from there examining the parts i find relevant. The basis of my analysis will be the gothic traits identified by Fred Botting in Gothic (2013) and a close reading of Septimus Heap (2005-2013). My analysis will be divided in to categories based on these gothic traits, and sub-categories based on what parts of the source material I am discussing. I conclude that several gothic traits, as defined by Botting, are present and recurring in Septimus Heap (2005-2013) but that aspects of these may sometimes differ from Bottings description of the classic gothic traits
Konsten att intervjua : En jämförande analys av Carina Bergfeldt och Fredrik Skavlans intervjuteknik
No full textDen här studien ämnar undersöka fenomenet intervjuteknik med utgångspunkt att studera interaktionsmönstret hos två av Sveriges främsta Talkshowvärdar, Carina Bergfeldt och Fredrik Skavlan. Genom att analysera deras intervjutekniker i respektive Talkshowprogram, Carina Bergfeldt och Skavlan, avser studien att identifiera eventuella skillnader respektive likheter i deras tillvägagångssätt att genomföra en intervju. Studien utgår ifrån de två frågeställningarna 1) Hur är Carina Bergfeldt och Fredrik Skavlans intervjutekniker utformade, och hur påverkar deras tillvägagångssätt intervjuprocessen och dess resultat? 2) Hur anpassar sig Carina Bergfeldt och Fredrik Skavlan till olika intervjupersoner, och hur påverkar detta deras förmåga att skapa en givande interaktion? Ett analysschema baserat på tidigare forskning och teorier inom ämnet har använts för att studera inspelat material ifrån de två programmen. Med hjälp av samtalsanalys har åtta avsnitt segmenterats och transkriberats för att analysera programledarnas intervjuteknik. Resultatet visar att Carina Bergfeldt och Fredrik Skavlans intervjutekniker skapar en dynamisk miljö där en balans mellan allvar och humor upprätthålls, detta för att skapa ett underhållningsvärde för publiken
Materiality Matters : Unraveling the Impact of Double Materiality in Swedish Corporate Sustainability
No full textThe evolution of sustainability reporting demands increased transparency and scope. A pivotal aspect of this process is the determination of materiality for disclosure. The European Union, through its latest enactment, the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), has refined the interpretation of materiality criteria. This regulatory development motivates this study, which aims to explore the implications of the double materiality assessment (DMA). Specifically, investigating how the DMA is strategically utilized and if the generated output could lead to change in companies’ governance, operations, and practices. To investigate this, the study examines eight Swedish companies across various industries, among the early adopters of ESRS. These companies serve as the focal point of the case study, utilizing a qualitative research approach where insights are derived from semi-structured interviews with key representatives of these firms. A conceptual framework, drawing from dynamic capabilities and institutional theory, help identifying patterns and themes related to dynamic skills and isomorphic tendencies. The study reveals how the DMA shapes companies’ sustainability focus and operations. It enhances internal and external discussions, promotes sustainability awareness among colleagues, and facilitates knowledge sharing. The DMA emphasizes supplier transparency, fosters stakeholder engagement, and influences sustainability strategies, leading to organizational restructuring. Additionally, the study highlights the reliance on external consultants for DMA execution, reflecting resource constraints or regulatory complexity. Professional audits expedite compliance efforts but raise concerns about internal resource adequacy for sustainability reporting practices amidst new disclosure mandates.
Beyond the Purchase : Exploring the Dynamics of Microtransactions Among Swedish Gamers
No full textThis study explores the behavior of Swedish gamers regarding microtransactions in the Free-To-Play model. It focuses on their attitudes towards in-game purchases and explores the psychological, ethical, and social factors influencing their engagement. The study used qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews with nine Swedish gamers. The findings reveal that community norms and peer pressure significantly impact microtransaction engagement, especially among younger players. The study also identifies a psychological barrier that, once crossed, triggers increased spending. Furthermore, the research highlights the controversial role of loot boxes, their association with gambling, and the psychological effects they have on players. The results from this study suggest the need for regulatory oversight and ethical monetization practices. Additionally, the study reveals that premium in-game currencies obscure real-world costs, which can impact spending behavior and raise ethical concerns about transparency. The research suggests that game developers and policymakers should prioritize fair and transparent strategies that uphold player autonomy and well-being by considering the complex interplay between player experience, microtransaction design, and ethical considerations
