Health care providers must conduct systematic patient safety efforts to prevent adverse events. This includes quality controls such as review of medical records and investigations of adverse events. The investigations are conducted from national and local handbooks. Marker-based medical record review (MJG) for ambulance care is a new method, which can identify adverse events, but also needs for improvement. EMTs wants feedback on the work they do but feel that they rarely get it, which hinders learning and increases the risk for repeated adverse events. The purpose of the quality improvement project was to prevent adverse events for patients by creating educational feedback from MJG and adverse events to EMTs for increased learning. The purpose of the study was to explore EMTs perception of learning from the educational feedback based on results from MJG and adverse events, through The Kirkpatrick model for evaluation of learning and its four levels: reaction, learning, behaviour and results. A Mixed method design was used, combining quantitative and qualitative data collected through a survey to EMTs. The results showed that educational feedback with results from MJG and adverse events contributes to increased involvement from EMTs as well as promotes safety culture. Educational feedback leads to learning at different levels. EMTs generally showed positive reactions to educational feedback (reaction), especially regarding increased understanding of documentation, awareness and communication (learning) which was positively stated to be able to influence clinical professional practice (behavior). The results also showed a need for accessible training for all, in varying formats and opportunities for reflection for increased learning and strengthened patient safety (results). The conclusion is that educational feedback based on results from MJG and adverse events can promote involvement and safety culture, as well as contribute to learning that can prevent adverse events for patients.

The Roots of Doubt: Unpacking Scepticism Towards Eco-Labeled Products

    No full text
Findings: This study shows that scepticism arises from several factors. Higher-educated consumers are more sceptical towards eco-labels. Aligned with previous research, transparency still plays a key role in making consumers trust green labels. This study expands the study of how to show transparency in the new digital era. QR is preferred by consumers to seek more information to identify which eco-labels are real. It could be a new way of adapting consumers’ habits to offer transparency. Besides, consumers prefer to believe local small companies' green claims even though some of them do not have green certification labels on their product packages. It also reveals that society norms transformed in different countries could shift consumers’ attitudes towards green labels. Research limitations and future research: The sample size is limited for 35 participants who are residents in Jönköping, Sweden. Thus, limited geography may not fully capture the diversity of consumer attitudes towards eco-labeled products. The research method is a qualitative method taking semi-interviews and grounded on the Gioia Method to analyze the data. It limits the scale of surveys, the self-reported data could lead to subjective bias. In the future research, it could expand broadly and have deep insights based on each finding of this research, and could also employ mixed methods to reduce bias and improve researching accurancy. Implications: The findings indicate critical implications for multiple stakeholders. For marketers, adapting consumers’ behavior in the digital era, offering QR codes on packages, could enhance transparency. Big companies should take localized communication strategies to enhance their relationship with consumers to show their transparency of green production. Smaller, local brands may capitalize on their perceived authenticity to build trust. Policymakers could prioritize stringent standardization and enforcement of environmental claims to restore label credibility. If companies are not in a high-trust, strong regulations country, they could link their green claims with authority green labels from some countries that have strict regulations or laws and high reputations for sustainable products. These measures can reduce scepticism and promote effective sustainable consumption

Forecasting the Icelandic Real House Price Index

    No full text
Housing markets play an integral role in economies, and real estate often represents households’ most significant investment. This thesis aims to develop a short-term forecasting model for real house prices in Iceland’s capital area and identify key predictors from a set of economic, demographic, and housing market indicators. Motivated by the delayed response of the real estate market to changes in economic conditions, as modelled in the DiPasquale-Wheaton model, this study employs the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) framework and forecast combination techniques. The results indicate that housing market indicators, along with measures of consumer confidence, income, and the cost of capital, are among the most important predictors of house prices in Iceland. Moreover, the results suggest that a multivariate ARDL model delivers the most comprehensive and accurate short-term forecasts. These findings may offer useful insights for policymakers, real estate professionals, homeowners, and housing market analysts, and the forecasting models developed may serve as practical monitoring tools for the Icelandic housing market

Get Paid to Consume Power: How Wind Energy Leads to Negative Electricity Prices

    No full text
In the past two years, electricity markets in the Nordics have experienced a new phenomenon in price dynamics, characterized by a growing occurrence of negative prices, largely associated with the rapid expansion of wind power in Sweden. To investigate the extent to which increasing wind power contributes to the likelihood of negative electricity prices in the Nord Pool market, a Markov-Switching Dynamic Regression (MSDR) model, supported by a logistic regression framework, was implemented. The results suggest that rising wind power tends to decrease electricity prices, increasing the probability of negative price events, with the effect being more pronounced in regimes characterized by high volatility. Moreover, the findings indicate that hydropower production helps stabilize price dynamics, thereby mitigating the likelihood of negative prices. These results highlight the importance of flexible generation in maintaining price stability under the expansion of renewable energy sources

    No full text
Background:Sustainability has become a central theme in global policy and institutional reform, yet itspractical implementation within prison systems remains underexplored. Prisons, as closed andresource-intensive environments, present both unique challenges and untapped opportunitiesfor sustainability.Purpose:This study investigates the degree to which Hungarian prisons incorporate sustainablepractices, using the Three Pillars of Sustainability framework, which encompasses social, environmental, and economic dimensions, as an analytical lens. Method:An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was employed to examine the livedexperiences and insights of five participants, including prison staff and sustainability experts.3Semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore their perceptions of sustainabilitywithin correctional settings. Conclusion:The results show that while sustainability initiatives exist in Hungarian prisons, particularlyin infrastructure upgrades, vocational training, and mental health support, implementationtends to be fragmented and driven by cost-efficiency rather than holistic sustainability goals. The findings highlight a gap between theoretical frameworks and operational realities, underscoring the need for more integrated, participatory, and ecological value-drivenapproaches to sustainability in carceral institutions.
