    No full text
In a rapidly changing and digitalizing work environment, organizations increasingly rely on structured feedback systems to support employee development. However, there is limited knowledge about how feedback is experienced in organizations that primarily use traditional, infrequent performance reviews. This qualitative case study investigates feedback practices within a mid-sized Swedish organization by conducting eight semi-structured interviews with employees, managers and HR professionals. Thematic analysis revealed three key themes: 1. Experiences of current feedback practices. 2. The role of feedback in learning and development, everyday feedback culture. 3. Needs, expectations and perspectives on digital feedback systems. The findings show that while formal reviews serve administrative functions, they often lack immediacy, specificity and impact. Informal feedback, for example brief acknowledgements or emojis via digital tools, was perceived as more meaningful, aligning with Asplund’s concept of social responsiveness. The study contributes to research by illustrating how feedback functions as both a cognitive learning process and a social-emotional exchange embedded in workplace culture. It also offers practical insights into how continuous feedback might better meet employees needs through features that facilitate immediacy, personalization and ongoing interaction. The study concludes that sustainable learning is best supported by integrating emotionally intelligent feedback practices into everyday work life, rather than relying solely on annual performance reviews

Enhancing Supply Chain Integration and Agility : A Case Study of Warehouse Management System (WMS) Implications in the Dairy Industry

    No full text
The purpose of this study is to explore the role of WMS in enhancing supply chain integration and agility. It identifies specific WMS capabilities that facilitate inter- and intra-organizational integration, enabling companies to operate more smoothly and adapt effectively to changes in supply chains. The research centers on Arla Foods, a company in the dairy industry, where fast and accurate operations are crucial due to product perishability. This study demonstrates how WMS provides value beyond basic warehouse tasks. The study uses a qualitative single-case study design. Data is collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 employees at Arla Foods. Thematic analysis is used to identify patterns related to WMS capabilities and their impact on supply chain integration and agility. The findings connect to existing literature to develop a practical, theory-based framework. The research identifies six key WMS capabilities: enhanced inventory visibility, integrated data sharing, workflow automation, logistics coordination, real-time response, operational flexibility, resource management, and proactive decision-making with predictive analytics. These capabilities enable stronger integration and improve agility. WMS centralizes data and improves communication, but if only some departments use it or tools are not connected, silos remain, limiting impact. Companies should eliminate parallel work, ensure consistent WMS use across departments, and integrate with digital systems like ERP and TMS for unified information flow that supports coordination and collaboration. The findings emphasize that digital alignment is vital to breaking down silos and fully leveraging WMS’s strategic potential. This study is limited to one dairy company and qualitative interviews, so the findings may not apply universally to all industries or regions. It suggests future research should use multi-case and quantitative methods; explore how WMS interacts with other digital technologies, and apply longitudinal designs to assess long-term impacts

The use of public Wi-Fi networks is becoming increasingly common and poses challenges when it comes to ensuring the security and personal integrity of users. The purpose of the study is to map Swedish students' awareness of risks with public Wi-Fi networks and to examine their behaviour. The study's methodological choice included a quantitative survey that was distributed on the learning platform Canvas and physically on Jönköping University’s campus. The sample was limited to students at universities and colleges in Sweden. To analyse the data collected from the survey, descriptive statistics were used to create an overview of students' awareness and behaviour. The results of this study show that students in Sweden use public Wi-Fi networks regularly, while knowledge of technical risks and protection is limited among students. Security procedures are found to be inadequate, almost half of the students take no security measures at all. The study highlights the need for education and information efforts to increase awareness of risks, as well as the need for more user-friendly security features to increase the use of protection on public Wi-Fi networks

Physical stores are increasingly facing competition from e-commerce, which has grown in recent years. For city centers, this can contribute to a decrease in people on the move, which can also contribute negatively and have social and economic consequences. The problem this study analyzes is the needs and perceptions of residents when it comes to public planning. This study thus aims to use tactical urbanism and the residents' own opinions to understand how Fiskargränd is currently, based on the alley's social sustainability and design. The method used to answer questions is a case study. Data collection consists of a survey where respondents can have their opinions heard about what they think about the area and consists of both multiple-choice answers and open-ended questions to answer in their own words. The study also includes several interviews that give their views on Fiskargränd, and observations made by the researchers. When compiling the 52 survey responses, the results show that respondents think that lighting and social meeting places, such as seating, are currently too few on Fiskargränd. However, they experience the safety as pedestrians, the view and protection from the weather as quite/very good. Changes that respondents would like to see are more greenery, seating and lighting to create a pleasant area

Participation has long become a catchall term reflective of a system where children with special educational needs (SEN) are merely enrolled in mainstream classes and not treated as individuals with the legal right to the same outcomes as their peers. The time gap from the inception of international rights-based policies indicates an urgent need to re-map the literature on this concept. The extent in which children with SEN in Canada participate in learning environments and the factors that prompt said participation is essential in identifying and closing gaps in policy, practice and research. This scoping review aimed to deliver an updated status on the concept of participation for children in this region. Through the analysis of 17 research articles published between 2005-2025, this study unearthed the following themes: participation is physical, participation is environment dependant, participation is social, and participation is individual. The findings back hypotheses previously posited in theoretical frameworks and depict a gradual shift from older belief systems to an increased use of child-centred qualitative methods. Yet, many study designs on children’s experiences with participation in learning environments remain quantitative and heavily influenced by adults. Data from five geographic regions were missing during the studied time period. All of which signal additional pathways for future research studies on children with SEN in Canada

    No full text
In the direction of an under researched area of teachers' knowledge of Artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on their readiness to integrates AI in Education (AIEd), this study aim to critically examine the nuanced relationship between AI literacy of teachers (a prominent determinant of teachers knowledge of AI), and their readiness. AI literacy of teachers was analysed through its four dimensions, foundational understanding, application and integration, critical evaluation, and ethical awareness, focusing on K-12 teachers in Indian public schools to develop context specific study on teachers readiness. An interview guide was developed using the AI literacy framework for educators, to conduct qualitative research method, guided by semi structured interviews with five K-12 teachers in India. And, the key findings from the study indicate that K-12 teachers in India possess varying, yet foundational, levels of AI literacy, with an emerging conceptual understanding of AI and its functionality but there was often limited practical experience in applying AI tools. Teachers also demonstrated a capacity for critical evaluation regarding pedagogical and contextual implications, as well as an emerging ethical discernment of AI in education. However, the lack of practical skills in applying AI is resulting from challenges teachers face in public schools in terms of insufficient digital infrastructure, no access to resource, and lack of institutional support. The study findings also revealed a significant disconnect between national policies, and their practical implementation on the ground, concerning comprehensive and practical teacher training to integrated AIEd. Contextual factors emerged as pivotal impediments to AI integration, shaping teachers' AI literacy and overall readiness revealing that teacher readiness is not solely an individual responsibility but a collective challenge requiring substantial investment and support from educational institutions and policymakers. The study recommends substantial investment in digital infrastructure to overcome the digital divide by strengthening systemic and institutional support and advocates for extensive hands- on professional development for teachers. Furthermore, it calls for the co-creation of institutional policies by collaborating with K-12 teachers and establishing ongoing support systems for successful and relevant implementation

In the shadow of a monster : the issue of how female victims and characters are portrayed in true crime

    No full text
The essay "In the shadow of a monster - the issue of how female victims and characters are portrayed in true crime” by Annie Heiling and Nathalie Lindholm examines how the true crime genre depicts the serial killer Ted Bundy, his victims, and other female characters, with a focus on the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. By applying feminist film theory, particularly the concepts of the "male gaze" and gender stereotypes, as well as semiotic film analysis, the study highlights the issues of how patriarchal norms are reflected in the film’s representations. The study reveals how the film, which portrays serial killer Ted Bundy from the perspective of his girlfriend Liz, depicts Bundy as charming and charismatic, while the female characters are objectified and portrayed as passive. Furthermore, the female victims are often reduced to anonymous statistics. The essay identifies four main themes: Bundy's manipulation and duplicity, the power dynamic between Bundy and his romantic interests, the objectification of women, and the dehumanization of victims. The study also demonstrates how visual and performative elements such as camera angles, color, lighting, music, and body language contribute to these portrayals. The conclusions highlight the need for critical analysis of how the true crime genre portrays women and female victims, emphasizing the responsibility of filmmakers to avoid reinforcing stereotypical gender roles and inequality in their productions

TikTok - The new arena of news

    No full text
TikTok has developed into one of the fastest-growing platforms for news consumption globally (Newman et al., 2023), which has transformed the way individuals engage with and interact with news (Hendrickx, 2024). Despite the increasing amount of research on news engagement on social media, previous studies have neglected to examine the interplay between engagement and trust and how this phenomenon manifests among Swedish young adults aged 20-28. Considering this, the present study aims to examine young adults’ engagement with news content on TikTok, with a particular focus on how trust in news sources shapes engagement. The study uses a qualitative interview method and thematic analysis and is based on the theoretical framework the five parameters of media engagement (Dahlgren & Hill, 2023). Based on the thematic analysis, six themes could be identified: perspectives on news, news consumption on TikTok, engagement with news content on TikTok, motivations for engagement, perspectives on engagement with news content on TikTok, trust in news sources on TikTok, young adults' perception of source criticism. The findings indicate that TikTok is primarily used for entertainment purposes and that news consumption occurs unintentionally because of TikTok’s algorithmic structure. This means that young adults do not actively seek news on the platform but are instead exposed to news as part of the continuous content flow. Furthermore, the results show that young adults tend to seek information from established news sources, as they often perceive TikTok’s news sources as unreliable. Additionally, the findings reveal that the target group engages with news content on the platform both actively and passively. The primary motivations for engagement stem from a perceived need to stay informed, discuss current events with others, and verify information. The study’s findings contribute to discussions about the societal and professional implications of engagement and critical thinking regarding sources, emphasizing that a well-educated population with strong critical evaluation skills is crucial for maintaining an informed and democratic society. The results highlight that, although the target group recognizes the importance of source criticism, there is a deficiency in their ability to apply it in practice

This study examines how ZeroMission manages crisis communication following criticism regarding their sustainability work. The purpose of the study is to explore how a goal-oriented organization addresses criticism and subsequently communicates to maintain trust for its sustainability initiatives. A qualitative content analysis of ZeroMission’s statements during the crisis is conducted, based on an analytical framework informed by the theories of Image Repair Theory and Situational Crisis Communication Theory. The hamburger restaurant MAX Burgers collaborates with the climate organization ZeroMission regarding a tree-planting project that has been investigated by Aftonbladet, with criticism directed at both organizations. MAX Burgers refers to ZeroMission, as they are responsible for the project and are handling the criticism. The empirical material consists of ZeroMission’s compiled article with comments and two interviews where the CEO, Henrik Juhlin, provides statements. The results indicate that all five Image Repair strategies have been used in the crisis management. Despite effective crisis communication, there is room for improvement to ensure well-functioning crisis communication.

Is Harris For You? : A Thematic Analysis of Kamala Harris Campaign account on TikTok.

    No full text
