Experiencing literature: observations on students’ activities in “Japanese People and Literature”
publisherThe purpose of this article is to show what the subject, “Japanese People and Literature” was like to students in 2017. The author set the topic, “for students to experience literature” and in the lessons they made groups of 3 – 5 students, read the play Macbeth by turns, summarized the plot, and gave presentations group by group. These activities aimed at PBL (Project-based Learning). A report on computerization of student requests and the network environment in a student dormitory
publisherStudents who live in dormitories at the National Institutes of Technology hand in a night-and-meal-away request at a dormitory office counter using printed paper every week when they go back home. In this paper, in order to reduce the receipt procedure workload on office workers, we carry out questionnaire surveys about these requests and the network environment in the dormitory at Tsuyama College to students and their parents. The questionnaire results confirm the necessity of a student requests system for these requests.departmental bulletin pape
Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Joint Research and the Fukui Project XIV
publisherThis is the 14th part of the series of articles that records and further develops essentials of the Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Symposium 2013 Tsuyama, whose main themes were symmetry, periodicity, and repetition. The symposium was held on April 5th and 6th in Tsuyama city, Okayama, Japan, in conjunction with the Fukui Project and was devoted to the memory of the late Professor Kenichi Fukui (1981 Nobel Prize) who initiated the project. The present series also provides challenging cross-disciplinary problems which are directly related to the Fukui conjecture and to recent carbon nanotube research. Some of these problems are formulated using mathematical language not well known among chemists despite the importance of these notions in elucidating additivity and high-speed asymptotic phenomena in molecules having many repeating identical moieties. Some problems are formulated in terms of Fourier analysis connected to the theory of analytic curves, other problems are formulated in connection with the Science-Art Multi-angle Network (SAM Network) Project, which seeks to bridge Science and Art (visual, audial, and conceptual art) for a creative collaboration, and is an important part of the Fukui Project.departmental bulletin pape

Development of coaching software for volleyball clubs in National Institute of Technology, Tsuyama College
publisherInformation analysis is very important to win sports games. A score book is used to analyze the information. In the score book, many symbol marks which relate to the games are used to record by a team staff. Because there are many symbols, it is very difficult for anyone but the team staff to understand the record and the score book is not practically used in the game. In order to effectively use the information about the sports games, a computed score book system whose name was Scorer was developed in this study. Scorer could be carried out on a tablet PC. Scorer was tested and estimated for the volleyball game with the entry of the volleyball team in our college.
