A Study of Washing Machine Reservation System in Student Dormitory
publisherOne of a troublesome problem in a dormitory is a long queue in front of a washing machine. In this paper, our group proposes a washing machine reservation system in a dormitory and a user interface design as a smartphone application. Students living in the dormitory can reserve the washing machine from their smartphone using the proposed system. Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Joint Research and the Fukui Project XV
publisherThis is the 15th part of the series of articles that records and further develops essentials of the Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Symposium 2013 Tsuyama, whose main themes were symmetry, periodicity, and repetition. The symposium was held on April 5th and 6th in Tsuyama city, Okayama, Japan, in conjunction with the Fukui Project and was devoted to the memory of the late Professor Kenichi Fukui (1981 Nobel Prize) who initiated the project. The present series also provides challenging cross-disciplinary problems which are directly related to the Fukui conjecture and to recent carbon nanotube research. Some of these problems are formulated using mathematical language not well known among chemists despite the importance of these notions in elucidating additivity and high-speed asymptotic phenomena in molecules having many repeating identical moieties. Some problems are formulated in terms of Fourier analysis connected to the theory of analytic curves, other problems are formulated in connection with the Science-Art Multi-angle Network (SAM Network) Project, which seeks to bridge Science and Art (visual, audial, and conceptual art) for a creative collaboration, and is an important part of the Fukui Project.departmental bulletin pape
Education for Design Ability through Project-Based Learning- DESIGN-PROJECT carried out in the Advanced Engineering Course -
publisherThe education program for engineering design ability is carried out in many educational institutions which are accredited by JABEE, the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education. National institute of technology, Tsuyama College is working on DESIGN-PROJECT in the Advanced Mechanical and Control System Engineering Course since 2007. The DESIGN-PROJECT is an action to raise ability for engineering design. In this action, students are engaged in upbringing of the ability to search a problem in conjunction with many social phenomena, and to arrive at a rational solution voluntarily. In the project, we introduce the PBL(Project-Based Learning) method to achieve the aim. The students worked on a problem in independent (individual) initially, but we improved it in form to wrestle in a small group to cope with team activity and communicative competence through PDCA(Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle. This event had a great influence on the young generation at that time. Transparent ZnO Thin Films Prepared by Anodization
publisherIn this study, we have successfully obtained the transparent ZnO films by anodizing Zn plates at room temperature. The key issue is surface cleanness of substrates. The transparent ZnO films have grown on the polished Zn plate substrates for 5 min. ZnO growth was confirmed by XRD and reflectivity spectrum measurements. When the surface of the Zn plates was not polished, only white or black films were obtained, depending on deposition conditions.
