Change in Numbers of Warning Points Given to Boarders
publisherThe warning points system was designed in 1997 and has been enforced. The warning points are given to the boarders who break the rules of the dormitory. The change in numbers of the points or the residents given the warning points in the last four years was investigated. The tendency has been found, based on the change within each academic year, and some hints as to better management of the dormitory are given herein.departmental bulletin pape
Windows
othe
Chaos Analyses by the Use of a Logarithmic Map
publisherIntermittent chaos of types Ⅰ and Ⅲ can be numerically generated by a logarithmic map. Universal scaling laws can be clearly found near the critical points. Numerieal simulations using the Full Basic aim a pedagogical development in college of technology.departmental bulletin pape
Relaxation Phenomena of On-off intermittent Chaos
publisherTwo homogeneous chaos systems generated by a logarithmic map synchronize by connecting with a coupling strength C. On-off intemittent chaos is observed and the critical value C(s) is numerically obtained as a function of a control parameter α. The systematic chaos systems with α=-0.9 lead to the synchronization with smaller coupling strength than the theoretical value C(s). Relaxation time to the synchronized state exhibits the scaling law ε(-1) just above C(s) and its probability has a single peak.departmental bulletin pape
Mechatronics Education by using LEGO MindStorms and its Effect on Rearing of Creativity Part 1 -Case Study of Robotics Exercise for Junior High School Students
publisherAs the part of area collaboration activities, the creative educational projects opened to the region community such as mechatronics lecture for children become significant in recent year. The authors tried to lecture on the robot assembling exercise to parent and child in the area. The target participant is junior high school student and parent. In this event, the students assembled the line tracing autonomous robot by using the programmable robotics product named LEGO Mindstorms. The participant enjoyed the event for two days. This paper shows the contents of the exercise, response of the participant and others.departmental bulletin pape
Adsorption of Nitrogen and Argon on Graphite. 4 - Various Anomalies in Isotherms-
publisherSeveral adsorption anomalies have occurred during the process of adsorption-desorption of N2 and Ar at 77K on graphite samples: the appearance of a distinct step around a relative pressure of 0.4, a prominent hysteresis over almost the whole range of pressure, and a breakpoint in the BET plot for N2. It is known that the step stems from the
process of a second layer adsorptio. Applying the same method for determination of point B, we read an adsorbed amount up to eompletion of a second layer from the isotherm. The observed hysteresis is probably due to the presence of slit-shaped pores on graphite samples. From both the height of the step and the amount of surface oxygen, the relationship between surface area in pores and an amount of surface oxygen is obtained. Furthermore, the cause of the appearance of a breakpoint in a BET plot is briefly discussed in terms of difference in the characterristics of the gas adsorbates.departmental bulletin pape
A Follow-up Study of Students' Grades
publisherOne of the problems in education has been the decline in the students' academic ability. In addition to the high number of students droping out and repeating their year, this academic decline has become a concern at our college. This study follows up and analyses junior high school transcripts, entrance examination results and students' grades in order to ascertain whether there are any possible features that may lead to academic improvement.departmental bulletin pape
Conjoint analysis of college students' desirable working knowledge of English
publisherThis article is concerned with a conjoint analysis to investigate students' trade-offs among skills in English. After two feasibility studies, which indicate that all of four language skills are necessary for graduates of National Colleges of Technology, the result of conjoint analysis reveals that it is a practical tool for an in-depth need analysis.departmental bulletin pape
Learning of Neural Network on Automatic Counting of Chlorella
publisherIn this paper, an automatic counting of chlorella using neural network(NN) is described. In the culture of marine chlorella, it is necessary to count the number in order to understand the condition of increase. The automatic counting method of chlorella, using image processing and NN, was proposed. This NN is three-layerd and uses Back Propogation as learning method. This paper describes the study on the increase of the differential learning data of the NN on the recognition rate of chlorella. Experiments are the first case on the increase or decrease of the number of the usual learning data, the second case on the increase or decrease of the number of the new learning data, and the third case on learning using the extracted data from the counted images in experiment.departmental bulletin pape
