Activities of the Special Mission Teachers for the English Education Study Group in the 4th Block Global Kosen Project charged with making the ‘Guidebook for Improving Lessons in English’

    Get PDF
publisherThe purpose of this thesis is to describe how the 2 special mission teachers worked for the English Education Study Group in the 4th Block Global Kosen Project. Especially, in order to publish the ‘Guide Book for Improving Lessons in English’, which is a guidebook for every teacher willing to do lessons in English, we 2 teachers planned and carried on various activities for the 4th block teachers. Studying active learning and making a ‘Teachers’ Study Camp’ were the main activities. Consequently, the first edition of the guidebook was published in 2018, and the revised edition in 2019. In addition, after the Global Kosen Project was finished, the activity to publish the 3rd edition is being continued, collaborating with a spontaneous study group at Tsuyama Kosen, ‘Study Group for Teaching Engineering Courses in English.’ Lastly, difficulties to continue activities after big projects like the Global Kosen Porject have finished are considered in this thesis.departmental bulletin pape

A Report on Tourism Information Collection Using SNS and Forming Its Open Dataset

    Get PDF
publisherThis report shows achievements of a regional revitalization project utilizing bicycle power generation in 2018. The goals of this project in 2018 are tourism information collection using SNS and forming its open datasets. Our project team worked with city government officers to collect tourism information on Twitter and analysed them. In addition to this, our team made some open datasets about tourist spots and published to the Internet.departmental bulletin pape

A Walking Training System for Visually Impaired Children by Collaborative Research on Campus

    Get PDF
publisherIn this paper, our research group develops a walking training system for visually impaired children, because it is estimated that there are 1.4 million visually impaired children in the world. The device consists of three elemental technologies. In the first element, an ultrasonic sensor, an infrared sensor, and a temperature sensor obtain values indicating an obstacle to a visually impaired child. In the second element, a 3D distance image sensor obtains the coordinates of the obstacle. In the third element, a speaker outputs different sounds depending on the position of the obstacle. For an evaluation of these elemental technologies, we conducted evaluation experiments to confirm that each technology correctly detects the obstacle. As a result, we confirmed that these elements could detect the obstacle correctly and found some future tasks on the walking training system.departmental bulletin pape

Toward the application of random matrix theory to education

    Get PDF
publisherRandom matrix theory is an eigenvalue statistical theory of matrices which have random variables as elements and have basic symmetry. In addition to nuclear physics, random matrix theory is expected to have a wide range of applications in areas such as number theory, quantum chaos, complex networks, and ecology. In this survey, Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble (GOE) is treated as a simple example for the educational use of random matrix theory. We diagonalize a random N×N real symmetric matrix and derive the eigenvalue density function from the Jacobian of variable transformation. By taking the limit of N→∞, we derive Wigner's semicircle law that appears as a universality. In addition, we calculate the eigenvalue distributions of symmetric matrices with pseudo-random numbers following a Gaussian distribution by computer simulation and compare them with Wigner's semicircle law.departmental bulletin pape

Current status and prospect of career counseling

    Get PDF
publisherCareer counseling for the students in National Institute of Technology, Tsuyama College is a critical core task to achieve the installation purpose of National Institute of Technology, Japan as explicitly stated in Act on the Institute of National Colleges of Technology, Independent Administrative Agency. There are a myriad of factors contributing to high rate of employment and education continuance. The representative factors are, 1. Historical fact of confidential relationship with industry, 2. Organizational structure consolidating for develop people with outstanding specialist capabilities. The vital points for the supervising teacher on career counseling have been accumulated based on four department old framework, because the migration to new department framework ‘Department of Integrated Science and Technology’ will have been reached completion in 2020.departmental bulletin pape

Development of Safety Evaluation Method for Nano-materials using Planarian

    Get PDF
publisherIt is concern about the impact of several kinds of nano-materials on human and other organisms. However, there is no suitable method to quickly evaluate safety and toxicity of nano-materials parallel with developments. We prepare feeds containing lead methylammonium iodide that are used in perovskite solar cell, and administere to planarians for a month. As a result of observing changes in the number of individuals and the number of eyes. There was no significant differences and impacts even when the food including lead methylammonium iodide feeding. However, we achieved useful method to make planarians ingested nano-materials.departmental bulletin pape

Effort and Improvement of the Required Subject, “English V”

    Get PDF
publisherThe purpose of this article is to show how the subject, “English V” has been improved since 2016. When the subject was held in 2013 for the first time, students were evaluated, based on different standards, because their teachers in charge of this subject from 2013 to 2016 gave classes with their own perspectives. The authors aim to unify the evaluation standards in order to evaluate students’ grades fairly: to introduce the same examination questions in the regular examinations and the same quizzes. In addition, the first author has incorporated a presentation activity. In the latter part, this article also shows how its activity has been improved.departmental bulletin pape
