Manufacture of an Instrument to Observe Solar Ultraviolet Irradiation
Get PDFpublisherThis paper presents an instrument to continuously measure solar ultraviolet irradiation that is consisted of 3 units; the measurement unit, the communication unit and the display unit. It has two sensing circuits so that protection degree of uv proof-goods such as suntan cream can be investigated. One chip micro-conmuter(PIC) was used in the communication unit, by which data detected with uv sensors were transferred repeatedly in an interval form the measurement unit to the display unit. The uv light strength is recorded and is simultaneously displayed on a CRT in a personal computer equipped with a program of VB-A. Future plan is that database of the solar uv light will be constructed with this instrument by accumulating the strength through a year. In this study, we tried to use a breadboard instead of the RCX microcomputer to make the students experience of making the basic electric circuit. And we developed the teaching material combined LEGO Mindstorms with the breadboard for mechatronics education. The students can make a line-tracing robot by assembling the electric parts such as trasistor, condenser, etc. on the breadboard. The teaching material is being applied to the creative execise. Flame Structure of Low Tempreture Flames of Premixed Lean Hydrogen Mixtures Having nearly the Same Laminar Burning Velocity
Get PDFpublisherIn this study, combustion characteristics and flame structures of low temperature flames of lean hydrogen mixtures are investigated by chemical kinetics computations. Several mixtures having nearly the same laminar burning velocities of 15, 25 and 35cm/s are prepared by adding nitrogen to hydrogen-oxgen mixtures with equivalence ratios ranging from 0.3 to 0.9. Initial pressures are varied from 1 to 4 atm at the initial temperature of 298K. As a result, it is clarified that low temperature reactions (R05:H+O2+M⇔HO2+M, R06:H+HO2⇒OH+OH, R04:H2+OH⇔H2O+H) are dominative in these flames regardless of the initial pressures, however, there are differences in flame structures and combustion characteristics depending on the equivalence ratio.departmental bulletin pape

We want to more easily use these technologies. We limited the problem that we should have solved as follows. It needs only small memory space, but it is the problem which must calculate very large parameter space. We call such a problem a parameter survey. We constructed the parameter survey support system which was easily usable even besides an expert of distributed computing. This support system does not require special programming technique and special computer environment.
