The Characteristics of Electrode-less Lamp's Plasma
publisherAlmost fifteen years have passed since the electrode-less lamp was put on the market. Some kinds of the electrode-less lamps have been developed from some companies. The trends in the development are to get the higher lumen output and to operate this lamp at lower frequency. These two things are not conflicting, because for getting higher output it is necessary to increase the input power. As the result, the circuit efficiency should be increased. In this situation it is considered to be important to grasp how the plasma performance depends on the operating frequency, and the research for this purpose has already held by Prof.Watanabe[1]. However, the research regarding the electron temperature and so on for this purpose has not reported yet. The purpose of our research is to grasp the relationship of the characteristics of the electrode-less lamp's plasma, namely the induced coupling plasma, to the operating frequency. The results are as follows;
(1) The starting situations depend on the operating frequency was checked.
(2) The measurement system was built up to check the plasma characteristics of electrode-less lamp operated at 13.56MHz and at around 150kHz.

Effect of Biogas Composition on HCCI Engine Performance
publisherTo improve the exhaust gas quality and thermal efficiency, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition(HCCI)Engine is regarded as the next generarion engine. However, the control of autoignition is difficult because they are controlled by chemical kinetics of fuel-air mixtures. In this study, combustion characteristics of Biogas in a HCCI Engine are investigated by chemical kinetics computations. Biogas(CH4:CO2=60:40) mixtures are prepared with equivalence rations ranging from 0.2 to 0.6. After that, the blend ratio of CO2 is changed from 20 to 60 mole % in CH4 to elucidate the effect of fluctuations in biogas composition. As a result, it is clarified that autoignion timing and combustion duration are affected by fluctuations in fuel composition. Diffusion of the Liquid Phase using the Partial Melting
publisherMelt-processed YBa2Cu3Oy(Y123) superconductors are highly attractive for bulk applications, such as strong superconducting bulk magnets. Therefore, we studied basic reseach on processings of the Y123 bulk superconductors. Phase diagram shows a peritectic point at about 1010℃ where Y2BaCuO5(Y211), a liquid and Y123 coexist.
We fabricated the bulk superconductors to put the Y123 Bulk between the Y211 bulks. As the result, we could have the Y211 film in the Y123 bulk suoerconductor to moving a liquid phase using the partial melting. Pressing Issues over Special Residing after Closing Dormitory
publisherThe dormitory of Tsuyama College of Technology had been perfectly closed every long vacation: all the residents except foreign students had been locked out at that time. Recently various idea competitions, e.g., the robot contest, the rescue-robot contest and the solar-car race, arranged for the students of both colleges of technology and those of maritime technology, have been popular all over Japan, due to NHK TV broadcasting. Everybody knows that winning in those matches is an honor to the school, whitch will surely lead to the rise a success rate for the entrance examination and then keep the educational level in the colleges as high as before, in spite of the recent decrease in the number of junior high school pupils. Under these conditions, the school authority of Tsuyama College worked out the special residing system after closing the dormitory and decided to permit a resident to live in the dormitory even after closing it if he would prepare for such contests. The dormitory affairs committee has thus executed this system these four years, in cooperation with the teachers concerned. During this period, however, various issues over the system have come into the open. The present authors will take up those for discussion and seek the way of how this system should be developed in the future.departmental bulletin pape
Review of Experiment and Practice Program in Department of Electronics and Control Engineering
publisherA review of the curriculum of the experiment and practice in the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering of Tsuyama National College of Technology is presented. Importance of the experiment and practice program in technical junior college, Institute National College of Technology, is generally accepted. But it is very difficult to assemble the experiment and practice subjects for the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering which is newly introduced resently, because there is little historical background and its program contains a large variety of engineering lessons. An Experimental Course for Robotics focussed on capability of making machines and creativity
publisherIn this paper, I describe about an introduction of ROBOLAB into an experiment and a practice as a creative education. In this study, I developed Micromouse using ROBOLAB that has merits to be very easy to construct their mechanical figures and functions. Consideration of cooperation of a JAVA/C language in network distributed environment

Distributed computing technologies (Grid and MPI.etc) attract attention in recent years. However, it is very difficult for us to use these technologies. We want to use these technologies more easily. We thought to use the Windows System which diffused most widely and constructed a distributed environment.
We investigated basic technology of distributed processing. As a result, we confirmed that JNI technology was very useful and convenient. JNI technology relates C language to JAVA language. Adsorption of N2 and Ar at 77K on Graphite Burnt Off in Gaseous Phase
publisherBurning the natural graphite partially with gas mixture of O2 and H2O at 600℃ diminished the amount of CO2- and H2O-desorbing oxides thereon, against expections. As a result of decrease in the surface oxides that forns the walls of pores existing on the graphite samples, the specific surface as well as the pore volume has decreased. As the degree of burning off gets higher, the JE step near X=0.4 has become more prominent, and at the same time, the hysteresis between adsorption and desorption has become less prominent. The JE step corresponds to the process of formation of the second adsorption layer, and the hysteresis is due to the presence of pores. Therefor, the phenomena observed suggest that the surface thus burnt is rather homogeneous to N2 and Ar than before the treatment. Through comparing the amount of N2 and Ar adosorbed at the end of the JE step with the monolayer capacity, Vm, it should also be inferred that this burning treatment has made the mesopores on the graphite samples still more shallow than the heat treatment does.departmental bulletin pape
