English Lessons Using a Net Material and its Effect for BYOD
publisherThe first purpose of this thesis is to describe some methods and the effects of these methods in the English course ‘Integrated Science and Technology Practice’, in which I used an e-learning teaching material ‘ALC NetAcademy’ for the 2nd year Advanced Science Program students. The second purpose is to contribute to a pilot study of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) which starts for the first year students from the 2020 school year.
E-learning is very useful not only for English lessons at school but also for studying at home or in the dormitory. I found that students had more opportunities to study English than before. I also studied about how effective this e-learning was for GTEC scores. As a result, I found a slight effect, especially for the listening score, compared with the students of other programs who did not take this e-learning.departmental bulletin pape
Fabrication of Perovskite Crystal by Mist-Vapor Deposition Method and Its Application to Solar Cells
publisherThe film formation of lead methylammonium iodide by the mist vapor deposition method and its application to solar cells were investigated. To form perovskite crystal layer, the thin films were formed at 115 ° C, 125 ° C, and 130 ° C, which analyzed by XRD. As a result, peaks indicating perovskite crystal were observed at 2θ= 14 °, 28 °, 42 ° respectively. N, N'-Di (1-naphthyl) -N, N'-diphenyl- (1,1'biphenyl) -4,4'-diamine (α-NPD) was used as the hole transport layer for perovskite solar cell which formed at 140 ° C and 180 ° C, and a perovskite crystal layer was formed on it. Crystal size of perovskite layer depended on the film formation temperature of the hole transport layer. It was found that the crystal size of perovskite layer formed at 180 ° C was smaller than that of 140 ° C. Electric properties of manufactured solar cells were improved at the high film formation temperature of the hole transport layer and the roughness of the perovskite layer was small.departmental bulletin pape
Observation of high-order rainbow and measuring refractive index of liquid
publisherCombination of white LED light and a hanging droplet from a syringe gives an ideal rainbow observation of a single raindrop. Bright spots of from the first order rainbow to 6th order are observed using a simple experimental set-up in an ordinary bright room. Since angle of rainbow is very sensitive to refractive index of droplet liquid, observation of rainbow angle is effective way to measure refractive index of liquid. Refractive index of water, oil and some solution are measured with the 2nd order rainbow.departmental bulletin pape
Development of higher-mileage car – improved engine system –
publisherAn internal combustion engine vehicle which has been invented for 120 years is absolutely imperative for our life. Green action and resource-saving are the key technologies for automobile engineering. Hybrid car, hybrid electric vehicle, electric vehicle, and clean diesel have been developed. New diesel and petrol cars and vans will be banned in the UK from 2040 in a bid to address air pollution, the government has announced in July 2017. However, an internal combustion engine vehicle will maintain holding a key position at least 20 years. The competition for gasoline mileage “Honda eco-mileage challenge” is held since 1981. Here we show the improved engine system for the developed experimental production vehicle. Gasoline mileage has been optimized by response surface methodology and artificial neural network models.departmental bulletin pape
Exploring career impediments for female Technical College graduates in technical professions
publisherFemale students of the college to train engineers often quit their jobs after they entered technical vocational areas. This phenomenon is a social loss, and it is not an exception at the National Institute of Technology, Tsuyama College, either. The key to solving this problem is to provide a role model. This research test this hypothesis.departmental bulletin pape
Trial of classical ironmaking process for active professional training
publisherA material science is included in an education curriculum of second year students for a mechanical systems program, Tsuyama-college. Although the material science is performed by a classroom lecture, an active practical education program seems to be required by the students than a theoretical education program for causing interest. Since our education group performed classical iron-making process, named Tatata-method, an effect for the education and its procedure are reported.departmental bulletin pape
The Process of Indirect Discrimination in Fruitvale Station
publisherThe purpose of this paper is to consider indirect discrimination in the process of the conflict between a white person and an African-American through a consideration of the image of Oscar Grant Ⅲ presented in the film, Fruitvale Station (2013). In 2020, American citizens were furious about the death of an African-American since they witnessed, through digital recording, the moment when he could not breathe because a white police officer pressed against his neck without reason. This study, in the context of 2020, shows how the final discrimination of the actual shooting Oscar on the Oakland BART platform portrayed in the film can be seen as the tragic result of multiple effects of direct discrimination by his white acquaintance in the state prison, indirect discrimination of the white police officer, and other instances of discrimination.departmental bulletin pape
A Revised Subject “English I” Based on the Reorganization into One Department
publisherThe purpose of this article is to show how the subject, “English I” has been improved since 2016. In 2015, outsourcing assessment tests for English (GTEC for Students and TOEIC Listening & Reading-IP) were going to be introduced in 2016 systematically for the first, second, third, and fourth year students in order to motivate them to study English. The first author has been in charge of this subject since 2013, but since 2018 the authors have divided 3 credits into 2 and 1 and given lessons to each class. In this article, these points will be focused on: how the English teaching plan was conducted, and how the authors set the aims of study and implemented them.departmental bulletin pape
Rotational motion of hurricane balls
publisherRotational motion of hurricane ball consist of two spherical balls is illustrated as a spinning top. They rotate stable around a vertical axis with their spinning axis tilted. The tilt angle is a monotonically increasing function of the angular velocity of the precession, and has a upper limit. However, asymmetric hurricane balls with lower ball smaller then upper ball rise perpendicularly. Relation between the upper limit of tilt angle and the radius ratio of the two balls is revealed. This analysis is successfully applied to understanding of dynamics of a spinning boiled egg and a tippe top.departmental bulletin pape
