Application of Security Requirements Engineering to File Server Design
publisherWe report the case which applied security requirements engineering to a file server design. The function necessary to a file server is analyzed using one of analysis methods, Secure Tropos. Two kinds of file server are built actually using Open Source Software such as FreeBSD+Samba and FreeNAS. We confirm the validity of the analysis method through the present server building.departmental bulletin pape
Maintenance of a Verification Environment for Open Source Software and Its Application
publisherWe have to do movement verification by self-responsibility to utilize Open Source Software. In this report, a verification environment of FreeBSD-Based system is described with related application software. Building of the Internet server and the bulletin board terminal used at Tsuyama College are described as the applicability of the verification environment. We also report the notice and improvement points found by the verification process.departmental bulletin pape
Mechanics of spinning tops
publisherMechanics of a spinning solid body witch is rotating around an axis that is not a principal axis of inertia is very intricate. This report shows that, to analyze rotating motions of a cylinder or a disk on a flat floor, a formula of precession period of tops could act as Euler’s equation of motion and this makes analytical models to be understood easily. Applying this idea, limitation of standing angle for a spinning cylinder and speed divergence of contact point of a spinning disk are well demonstrated qualitatively. To clear quantitative disagreement the analytical models should be improved.departmental bulletin pape
A Note on the Physical Quantities of Eclipsing Binary Stars
publisherIn the research activities of high school students, they derive the period of luminosity variation from the light curve of eclipsing binary stars and often consider the aspects of the eclipsing binary stars in phenomenological terms. In addition to the period of luminosity variation, what physical quantity may be drawn from the light curve? From the photometric and spectral data of eclipsing binary stars, we can also obtain physical quantities, such as the temperature ratio, the radius ratio, and the mass ratio of binary stars, as well as the binary star distance. In simple assumptions, these can be understood in the knowledge of high school earth science. In this article, we discuss the physical quantities of eclipsing binary stars, and the field of astronomy in high school earth science.departmental bulletin pape
Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Joint Research and the Fukui Project XII
publisherThis is the 12th part of the series of articles that records and further develops essentials of the Mathematics and Chemistry Interdisciplinary Symposium 2013 Tsuyama, whose main themes were symmetry, periodicity, and repetition. The symposium was held on April 5th and 6th in Tsuyama city, Okayama, Japan, in conjunction with the Fukui Project and was devoted to the memory of the late Professor Kenichi Fukui (1981 Nobel Prize) who initiated the project. The present series also provides challenging cross-disciplinary problems which are directly related to the Fukui conjecture and to recent carbon nanotube research. Some of these problems are formulated using mathematical language of unique factorization domains (UFD) and related notions, which are not well known among chemists despite the importance of these notions in elucidating additivity and high-speed asymptotic phenomena in molecules having many repeating identical moieties. Some problems are formulated in terms of Fourier analysis connected to the theory of analytic curves, other problems are formulated in connection with the Science-Art Multi-angle Network (SAM Network) Project, which seeks to bridge Science and Art (visual, audible, and conceptual art) for a creative collaboration, and is an important part of the Fukui Project.departmental bulletin pape
Experimental Study on the Simple Viscometer of the Lifting Ball Type
publisherThe both viscometers of the usual falling sphere type and the lifting liquid type are based on Stokes’ law. The latter viscometer can be carried out the viscosity measurement at any desired velocity. In this paper, for the lifting ball type, the results of experiments are shown that the coefficient of viscosity calculated by Stokes’ law depended on the lifting ball velocity becomes limiting value when the velocity draws near zero. This simple viscometer of the lifting ball type can be thought of applicable to the student experiment.departmental bulletin pape
The analysis of the ways of teaching, concepts of teaching and learning of master senior high school English teachers
publisherI define the high school English teachers who can teach English for both communication and preparation for the university entrance examinations as master English teachers. This study investigates the ways of teaching, concepts of teaching and learning, of the master high school English teachers. I interviewed three of them to reveal the ways to teach English for both communication and preparation for the university entrance examinations. I divided the items of the interview into three categories―teaching techniques, ways of thinking, and materials, based on a previous survey to the teachers on the methods and ideas to improve students’ communicative competence and their ability to pass university entrance examinations at the high school level.departmental bulletin pape
Induction-Coil Electrodeless Lamp System Using 100kHz Order Frequency
publisherInduction-coil electrodeless Lamp systems provide some essential advantages compared to general fluorescent lamps, i.e. extremely long life, instant starting, and high system output. However, the conventional electrodeless Lamp system with outside wire winding is not sufficient for total efficiency because of using 13.56MHz frequency. So, the new electrodeless Lamp system that consists of a bulbous lamp with a re-entrant cylindrical cavity, a solenoid induction-coil with a ferrite magnetic core and 135kHz driving inverter, is proposed. This paper reports the structure and performance of the new system.departmental bulletin pape
