FINANCIAL INTEGRATION AND EXPORT ASSOCIATION OF TÜRKİYE WITH OECD COUNTRIES
Financial integration of countries is constantly increasing with their mutual trade. In other words, rising of partnership on international market ensure higher financial integration over time. Increasing of financial integration among countries also will be reason of raising the similarity and bilateral agreements of these countries. This paper shows that what countries have tendency to act together in terms of financial integration with Türkiye in the designated period. For this purpose, the stock market indexes of Belgium, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom those are top trading partner of Türkiye and members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) selected for this research. Gregory - Hansen (1996) cointegration test used to find the financial integration between the stock market indices of selected countries and Türkiye. The result of test method shows that the highest correlation is with Germany after Israel, and the second line is for the United Kingdom. According to result of the cointegration test, although Türkiye acts together with all selected countries, Germany stand on different point. This could explain with Germany is the major partner of Türkiye in terms of mutual trade

Pediatric Head Injuries Occur During the Play Childhood Period of 3-6 Years: A Sample from the South of Türkiye
Aim: Pediatric head traumas (HT) are of significant concern due to their potential for high mortality rates, which are influenced by the clinical progression of traumatic brain injury (TBI). HT poses a substantial risk of morbidity and mortality across all pediatric age groups, underscoring the importance of effective clinical management and follow-up procedures. The current study aims to evaluate the epidemiology, causes, and clinical outcomes of head injuries during childhood play between the ages of 3 and 6. Material and Method: Focused on pediatric patients aged 3-6 years who were admitted to the emergency department (ED) for HT, and required consultation from a neurosurgeon. Data collected included patients’ demographics, trauma etiology, cranial examination findings, laboratory results upon admission, cranial computed tomography findings, classification of TBI, treatment administered, and clinical progression. Results: The median Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) scores were found to be significantly lower in the group with intraparenchymal injury compared to the group without intraparenchymal injury (p=0.008). The group with intraparenchymal injury exhibited a higher than expected occurrence of moderate TBI (p=0.012). Females exhibited significantly lower mean rank scores for age compared to males (p=0.032). Patients hospitalized for HT had significantly lower GCS scores than those discharged (p=0.001). There is a higher prevalence of moderate TBI than expected in the group of hospitalized patients (p=0.008). The mortality rate among hospitalized patients was 5.6%, with lower GCS scores and hyperglycemia upon admission significantly associated with fatalities (p=0.015, p=0.045). Conclusion: Identification and management of moderate TBI are imperative in children presenting to the ED with HT during early childhood play. Children with intraparenchymal injury should be hospitalized. Additionally, hyperglycemia in pediatric HT patients may signify high-energy trauma

Experimental study on the flow field geometry of the PEM fuel cell bipolar plates: The effects of various shaped blocks embedded in serpentine pattern on cell performance
The flow field pattern is crucial in many aspects such as cost-efficiency (in terms of excessive fuel consumption), water management on the cathode side, and achieving a high cell performance. The studies on the reconnaissance of much more effective flow field design have been continuing for years. As a matter of fact, it may be succeeded with some manipulations on the flow area. The current research proposes to investigate the effects of blocks in various shapes and positions on the net power output by changing the shape of the channels in the flow field (FF). For this reason, semicircular and triangular blocks were machined on the serpentine channels and their short-term performances were compared with the conventional serpentine pattern. In addition to the related new FF designs, performance evaluation was made by using nickel foam placed to fill the inner part of the serpentine FF. First, ultimate operating conditions were optimized with the traditional serpentine FF. Then, the performance outputs of the proposed FF designs were compared under the same conditions assigned in the previous section. The single-cell performance tests yielded that the highest power density was ensured with nickel foam (NF)-serpentine FF with 0.267 W/cm2. This increment corresponds to a 38 % enhancement in the power output when compared to the classical serpentine-type FF. Triangular (T) and semicircular (S) obstacles increased the performance significantly. Each manipulation on the traditional serpentine FF affected the power output positively, essentially. The pattern structures of the diagonal semicircle (DS) and diagonal triangular (DT) FFs reduced both water evacuation ability and performance increase rate. NF-serpentine FF contact highly decreased the ohmic resistance level of the cell when compared to the other designs according to the impedance (EIS) measurements. In addition, a correlation was observed between the performance and pressure drop test results. The highest-pressure drop was recorded with NF-serpentine FF (4.225 kPa) whereas the lowest is conventional serpentine FF (0.55 kPa). Traditional serpentine pattern is famous for with high-pressure drop structure. Consecutively, the pressure drop tests proved that the manipulations increased the pressure level of the system directly
The effect of adrenaline and trypan blue used during cataract surgery on anatomical and functional outcomes in pseudoexfoliation syndrome patients
PurposeTo evaluate the effect of the intracameral adrenaline and trypan blue used during cataract surgery on corneal endothelial parameters in pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PEX) patients.MethodsThe patients were divided into four groups according to intraoperative use of agents during cataract surgery: intracameral adrenaline (1/10,000, 0.1 ml) (group 1), trypan blue (0.6 mg/ml, 0.1 ml) (group 2), combination of adrenaline and trypan blue (group 3) and none (group 4).ResultsPreoperative ECD, CV, HEX and CCT parameters were similar between the groups. A mean loss of 12.7% in ECD was observed at the postoperative third months compared to the preoperative. In group 3, ECD was found to be lower in the postoperative third months compared to the preoperative (p = 0.014). In the other groups, no statistically significant difference was found in preoperative and postoperative comparisons.ConclusionIn conclusion, the utilization of intracameral adrenaline or trypan blue did not cause a significant difference in corneal endothelium in PEX patients. However, their combined use may have a negative effect on endothelial cell density. In a cataract surgery performed in the presence of PEX, the increased likelihood of endothelial damage should be taken into consideration, and appropriate precautions should be taken preoperatively and intraoperatively
The presumption of innocence in the framework of the European Court of Human Rights decisions
The purpose of the ECHR, which serves as a guide as it deals with rights in the broadest form in international legislation and is supported by the ECHR in terms of jurisdiction and sanctions, is to secure human rights, like many other national and international texts. This is why; By containing many provisions aiming to protect the individual from various aspects, it guarantees the protection of the subject not only from other people but also from the institutions and organizations of the state. An example of such provisions is the right to a fair trial, which requires that the process be processed by judicial authorities that guarantee fairness, independence and impartiality in any criminal or administrative proceedings. The right to a fair trial, stated in Article 6 of ECHR, not only protects the individual against the judicial powers during the trial process, but also serves as a fundamental right, as it includes many sub-principles. The presumption of innocence, which we can consider as an integral part of the right to a fair trial; It can be defined as the fact that a person is not considered innocent until his guilt is proven by a final court decision during the trial process. In essence, the presumption ensures that the person accused of a crime will be tried in a way that will not cause prejudice against other public opinion and institutions during the trial process, and that he will not be marginalized if he re-enters society at the end of the process. The principle of presumption of innocence in ECHR Article 6/2 is stated in our Constitution as "No one can be considered guilty until proven guilty." It is also included in Article 38 with the phrase: In this context, the fact that the presumption, which is considered an element of the right to a fair trial in international law, has taken its place as a provision in our laws creates a debate about whether the presumption is a principle or a right. In addition to this debate, it is also the subject of many debates, such as whether the presumption of innocence can be considered as a presumption or whether it can be used in terminology as the presumption of innocence
Investigation of the effects of jasmonic acid and salicylic acid applications on rosmatrinic acid production in rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) in vitro conditions
Plants are the main sources of natural compounds used in the pharmaceutical industry. Rosmarinic acid (RA) is a natural antioxidant phenolic compound with antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, and anticancer activities. In this thesis study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of salicylic acid and jasmonic acid, two important signaling molecules in plants, on the production of rosmarinic acid in Rosmarinus officinalis L. (rosemary), which is of great medical importance. In the first stage, different sterilization methods were applied and the appropriate sterilization method was determined. Then, callus was obtained from leaf explants of rosemary plants. The callus obtained were grown in subculture in different doses of salicylic acid and jasmonic acid medium. The callus induction frequency was measured and rosmarinic acid accumulation was analysed. When all elicitor concentrations were compared, the best callus induction frequency was 84% with 50 mM salicylic acid treatment. At the same time, the highest amount of RA was determined as 0.753 mg/g t.a. in 50 mM salicylic acid treatment. The data obtained showed that in vitro cultures using rosemary leaf explants with the addition of elicitors such as salicylic acid and jasmonic acid can be successfully used as an alternative method for RA production
Joint Channel Estimation and Localization in RIS Assisted OFDM-MIMO System
6th Global Power, Energy and Communication Conference (GPECOM) -- JUN 04-07, 2024 -- Budapest, HUNGARYReconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) are expected to become one of the enabling technologies in the development of the sixth generation (6G) smart radio environment, where services such as localization and sensing are going to be ubiquitous and an integral part of the system. However, achieving localization in a dense urban environment is a challenging task. Therefore, this study considers joint channel and localization estimation in a RIS-assisted orthogonal frequency division multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (OFDM-MIMO) system operating in a dense urban environment, where only Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) multipath components are available. The channel estimation is based on the channels being sparse in the spatial and angular domains and having only a few Angles of Arrival (AoA) and Angles of Departure (AoD), thus the channel estimation becomes a sparse signal recovery problem that can be solved with compressive sensing algorithms. The study implements Simultaneous Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (SOMP) to obtain AoA and AoD. The time delay parameters are obtained by correlating OFDM subcarriers with a search matrix. A localization estimation algorithm based on linearization of the estimated geometric parameters is adopted. The results of the study show that for a channel consisting of 3 NLoS paths, location estimation in the range of decimeters is possible.IEE
