The effect of adding zero-valent iron nanoparticles on biohydrogen production from refectory waste
The objective of the current research was to increase biogas and biohydrogen production by adding zero-valent iron nanoparticles (Fe0NPs) to refectory waste by the dark fermentation method. Loading was done at 0, 2, 4, 8, and 10 gVS/gVS ratios to determine the highest S/I ratio. The best yield was obtained at the S/I loading ratio of 4 gVS/gVS. Different Fe0NP concentrations (0, 50, 100, 200 and 400 mg/L) were studied at the best loading rate. The highest biogas (86%) and biohydrogen production (140%) occurred at a Fe0NP concentration of 100 mg/L. The highest TS and VS removal were determined as 50% and 37%, respectively, in the reactor with the 100 mg/L Fe0NP concentration added. The highest total VFA concentration was observed at the S/I loading ratio of 4 gVS/gVS and 100 mg/L Fe0NP concentration added. Considering biogas and biohydrogen production, biofilm samples were taken from the S/I = 4 gVS/gVS reactor with the highest efficiency and the best results in the addition of Fe0NP, and as a result of examining their microbial distribution, Lactobacillus, Pseudomonas, and Clostridium were determined as the most dominant species. Grapes are susceptible to loss of antioxidants and nutrients, fungal infection, and rot after harvest. In dis research, neem seed oil, methyl jasmonate and methylcellulose were used against Vitis vinifera L. cv. Cold storage time, quality parameters and their TEMPTEMPTEMPeffectiveness on antifungal activities of Sultani seedless grape variety were investigated. After harvest, the grapes were subjected to 7 separate coating processes, unlike the control group. These; 0.5%, 2%, 8% and 32% neem seed oil (NSO), 100?L methyl jasmonate (MeJA), 1% methylcellulose (MC), 1% MC + (0.5%, 2%, 8% and 32% NSO, 100?L MeJA + (0.5%, 2%, 8% and 32%) NSO and 1% MC + 100?L MJ. Tan, the applied products were stored at 0.5°C and 95% relative humidity for 60 days. TEMPhas been made. Applications at different concentrations were TEMPTEMPTEMPeffective compared to the control. Less rot (3.1%), weight loss (0.32%) and color changes (8.50%) were detected in 32% of NSOMC-treated fruits compared to other treated grapes and the control. The amount of water-soluble total dry matter (TSDM) and titratable acidity level of grapes treated wif 32% NSOMC were preserved compared to the initial rate, and the lowest average pH value was measured as 3.44. While it was determined that grapes treated wif 32% NSOMJ had the highest phenolic compound average, it was determined that the antioxidant activities of grapes treated wif 32% NSOMC decreased. Our research findings suggest that application of neem seed oil along wif methylcellulose and methyl jasmonate could be a safe and TEMPTEMPTEMPeffective commercial treatment to extend the shelf life of Sultani Seedless grape
Systematic index of the journal of Turkish Literature and a study on the poems (Year: 2001-2005, Issue: 327-386)
Anahtar Kelimeler: Süreli yayınlar, Şiir, Edebiyat, Türk Edebiyatı dergisiPeriodicals such as magazines and newspapers are among the most important documents that guide the past and future of a nation. Therefore, they offer study areas to researchers from different fields to access rich materials. Turkish Literature magazine, which is the source of our study, is also important in terms of literature and culture. The magazine's aim, which attracts attention with its mission and literary value, is to preserve national consciousness and identity. Turkish Literature is a magazine that started to be published in January 1972 and continues its publishing activities. The magazine, which had a long-term publication life, paused its publishing activities between March 1975 and January 1977. Due to this break, the period between 1972 and 1975 is considered the first publication period of the journal, and the period from 1977 to the present is considered the second publication period. Our study covers the issues published between 2001 and 2005. Turkish Literature magazine is a monthly magazine of art and ideas. Political, social, and economic situations have not changed the magazine's stance since its publication. It is possible to say that he did not compromise on his nationalist-conservative attitude despite the changing governments and their policies. In addition, the magazine sheds light on history as it develops on the axis of events from the past to the present. This study includes four main sections. In the first chapter, it was first determined how periodical publishing activities developed throughout the historical process. In addition, the establishment and form characteristics of the Turkish Literature magazine and its poet and writer staff were evaluated. In the second part, a chronological and bibliographic imprint of the journal was created, from the 327th issue dated January 2001 to the 386th issue dated December 2005. Following this, an alphabetical index is given according to the names of writers/poets. In addition, literary genres such as panel discussions, memoirs, biographies, translations, essays, jokes, tales, reviews, articles, letters, stories, speeches, poems, compilations, criticisms, travel articles, news articles, interviews, interviews, and promotions are classified in the magazine. In the third part, The characteristics of the poems published between the issues 327 and 386 were examined. In this section, after the general characteristics of the poems are given, numerical evaluations are made about the verse forms, meters, and types of the poems. In the fourth chapter, the poetry texts in the magazine are transferred based on their publication dates and grouped according to their types, with their verse forms and meters next to the names of the poets. As a result of our study, it is seen that Turkish Literature magazine is one of the periodicals that best reflects the national self-concept and identity. It is possible to say that the magazine contains many materials related to the political, literary, social, and cultural life from the date of its first publication until today. A Rare Case of Pediatric Pelvic Ectopic Kidney Injury Management
Renal injury occurs in 10-20% of all abdominal blunt traumas and 3-4% of penetrating traumas in the pediatric population. A 6-year-old girl who had blunt abdominal trauma as a result of a motor vehicle accident was evaluated in the emergency department of our hospital. She complained of a severe left flank and abdominal pain. Defensiveness was detected in the left quadrants of the abdomen and costovertebral angle tenderness was detected in the left. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a left pelvic ectopic kidney with a grade three laceration. The patient was admitted to our urology department, and conservative follow-up was decided after hemodynamic stability was achieved. During the follow-ups, clinical manifestations, vital signs, and laboratory values remained stable, the patient was discharged. In conclusion, based on this experience, we believe that the management of child pelvic ectopic kidney injury can be similar to that of orthotopic kidneys in accordance with the classification of the injury
Optimization and modelling of pravastatin recovery from aqueous solutions using reactive extraction methodology
This research endeavour primarily aimed to optimize and establish a model for the recovery of pravastatin, a well-known statin drug recognized for its cholesterol-lowering properties, from aqueous solutions using reactive extraction. This study used the Box-Behnken design to investigate extraction parameters and create a concise model equation illustrating the relationship between variables and responses. The investigation showed a strong agreement between the model equation and experimental outcomes. It highlighted a positive correlation, demonstrating that higher concentrations of reactant and pravastatin led to notable improvements in extraction efficiency. Two out of 90 experiments had extraction efficiencies below 10%, both with constant factors except for solvent type, while 14 experiments exceeding 80% efficiency highlighted the positive impact of a 50% reactant concentration on extraction efficiency. According to a statistical second-order polynomial, the predicted extraction efficiency stands at 75.14%. In the culminating phase of the study, optimal extraction conditions were meticulously determined, resulting in the identification of an optimal set of parameters: a pravastatin concentration of 35 mg center dot L-1, an adogen concentration of 20.91% (v/v), and a butanol phase ratio of 0.2% (v/v). Under optimal conditions, the experimental extraction efficiency reached 72.69%, closely aligning with values predicted through numerical optimization employing response surface methodology.Nigde UEniversitesi [TGT 2022/13-LUTEP]Nigde UEniversitesi, Grant/Award Number: TGT 2022/13-LUTE
Allele Mining for Molecular Breeding in Potato
Potato has great genetic diversity that has been lost during the process of domestication. Due to this constraint, modern breeding programs rely on limited genetic resources for the improvement of potato. Allele mining helps in the identification of target alleles, and novel genes of known functions along with their sequence within the diverse germplasm collections controlling key traits. The wild potato relatives and landraces found at the diversity center serve as excellent germplasm for exploring the allelic variation and candidate genes to develop allele-specific markers to screen against particular traits. Moreover, the availability of genome sequence in potato, especially for wild relatives, such as S. commersonii, provide insights into genome evolution and mining of significant genes/alleles associated with various traits of economic value. The current chapter highlights important genomic regions (genes/alleles) originated from wild potato germplasm conferring tolerance/resistance against abiotic, biotic and tuber-related characteristics. The understanding of natural allelic variation will prove to be worthy in marker-assisted selection and identification of new haplotypes. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Chittaranjan Kole, Tusar Kanti Behera, and Prashant Kaushik; individual chapters, the contributors
Design and real-time implementation of a sliding mode observer utilizing voltage signal injection and PLL for sensorless control of IPMSMs
In this study, a sliding mode observer (SMO) based on high-frequency (HF) voltage signal injection and a phase-locked loop (PLL) is proposed for estimating the extended electromotive force (EEMF), rotor position, and rotor velocity of an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM). This approach addresses real-time estimation challenges associated with standard SMO and PLL at very low speeds and standstill. A reliable and accurate sensorless speed control system for IPMSM is then developed and implemented in real time using the proposed SMO and PLL, covering a wide range of speeds, including low-speed and standstill conditions. The SMO effectively estimates the EEMF, while the PLL extracts the rotor velocity and position based on these estimates. Compared to conventional SMO and PLL methods, real-time results from an 8-pole, 0.4 kW IPMSM demonstrate the superior efficiency of the proposed system. © 2024Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu, TÜBİTA
Efficacy of facilitated tucking position and Reiki given to preterm infants during orogastric tube insertion: A randomised controlled trial
Aim: This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of Reiki and facilitated tucking position on pain, stress and physiologic parameters in preterm infants during orogastric tube (OGT) insertion. Methods: The study used a single-blind, parallel-group randomised controlled experimental design. It was carried out in the neonatal intensive care unit of a hospital in Nigde/Turkey between February 2022 and January 2023. A total of 45 preterm infants, who met the study criteria and whose sample size was determined according to power analysis, were randomly divided into three groups. As an intervention, the facilitated tucking position was applied to the first group, and Reiki was applied to the second group during OGT insertion. Routine application continued in the control group. The Infant Introductory Information Form, Physiological Parameter Follow-up Chart, Infant Stress Scale (ISS) and Premature Infant Pain Profile Scale-Revised (PIPP-R) were used for data collection. Significance was accepted as P 0.05). Infants who received the facilitated tucking position and Reiki intervention had better physiological stability compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The group with the lowest average stress (1.53 +/- 0.99) and pain scores (4.06 +/- 1.22) during OGT insertion was the facilitated tucking group (P < 0.001). After the procedure, stress and pain scores in both the facilitated tucking group and the Reiki group were found to be significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.001). Conclusions: The results of the study showed that the facilitated tucking position during OGT insertion was especially effective in reducing the pain and stress of infants. Both the facilitated tucking position and Reiki were determined to be effective interventions in reducing the pain and stress of infants more quickly after the procedure. The results of study contribute to the recommendation that NICU nurses should include non-pharmacological methods to decrease the pain of preterm infants during procedural pain

Ergin arıların abdominal yağ miktarları arasında istatistiki fark belirlenmiştir (P0.05). There was a statistical difference between the abdominal fat content of adult bees (P<0.05). The abdominal fat content was highest in the group fed diet II (spirulina) at 0.68±0.04 mg/bee. The highest gut weight was found in the groups fed with fresh yeast (diet V) and inactive brewer's yeast extract (diet VI) (P<0.05). The colonies fed with fresh egg yolk showed the worst results in all traits. As a result of this study, we recommend diet I (pollen) and diet II (spirulina) as pollen substitution diets
Maternal N-carbamylglutamate and L-arginine supplementations improve foetal jejunal oxidation resistance, integrity and immune function in malnutrition sheep during pregnancy
The present work focused on examining the function of rumen-protected L-arginine (RP-Arg) or N-carbamylglutamate (NCG) in jejunal oxidative resistance, integrity and immune function in the ovine foetal model of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). Thirty-two twin-bearing Hu ewes at d 35 of gestation were randomised as 4 treatment groups (n = 8 each): Control (CON), received 100% of the recommended National Research Council (NRC) for pregnancy; Restricted (RES), received 50% of the recommended NRC for pregnancy; RES + ARG, RES ewes added with 20 g/d of RP-Arg; or RES + NCG treatment, RES ewes added with 5 g/d of NCG. Foetal jejunal samples were collected on d 110 of pregnancy and were assayed for biomarkers of oxidative damage, integrity and immune function. The villus height was elevated (p < .05) within the jejunum of the foetuses of RES ewes subjected to dietary NCG or Arg supplementation relative to the RES group. RES + NCG or RES + ARG feeding decreased (p < .05) foetal jejunal tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and Interleukin (IL)-6 levels and elevated (p < .05) foetal jejunal superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity (p < .05) in relative to RES group. The Arg/NCG supplementation downregulated (p < .05) expression of gene and proteins associated with inflammatory response (TNF-alpha), upregulated (p < .05) genes and proteins associated with antioxidation (catalase and SOD2) and integrity (claudin-1) relative to those within foetal jejunum of RES group. In conclusion, Arg and NCG supplementation of RES ewes alleviates foetal jejunal oxidative stress, improves integrity, and promotes foetal intestinal development in the ovine foetus with IUGR.Project of National Key Research and Development Program of China [2023YFD1301705]; Top Talents Award Plan of Yangzhou University; Cyanine Project of Yangzhou UniversityThe work was funded by the fund for the Project of National Key Research and Development Program of China (2023YFD1301705), the Top Talents Award Plan of Yangzhou University (2020), and the Cyanine Project of Yangzhou University (2020)
