Experiences with Animals and Plants during the Childhood among University Students
No full textThis study aims to collect item proposals to develop a scale to measure children’s nature experiences and examine the relationship between childhood nature experiences, family socioeconomic status, and current awareness of environmental issues. A web-based questionnaire survey was administered to university students (N=250). Consequently, many descriptions of nature experiences were collected. Many participants reported interacting with insects, playing with wild flowers and plants, and harvesting fruits. However, only a few participants reported interactions with livestock or mushrooms. There was no correlation between socioeconomic status during childhood and the number of reported nature experiences. Moreover, no correlation was found with the frequency of visits to zoos or aquariums, or with the number of extraordinary natural experiences (such as camping). However, a correlation existed between university students’ current awareness of environmental issues and the number of reports of interactions with wild animals and plants. A Research on Improvement of Teaching Methods for Large-Scale Lectures
No full textThis study aims to identify effective teaching strategies that enhance student interest, participation, learning outcomes, and depth of understanding in large-scale university lectures. It focuses on an instructional approach that integrates active learning, flipped classroom techniques, and text mining to visualize learning. The research was conducted over a three-year period, from 2022 to 2024, as part of a project to improve teaching in a largeenrollment course. Data were collected through student questionnaires (with informed consent) and written responses to assignments. Both quantitative and content analyses were performed. The findings suggest that the proposed teaching approach can positively support student learning in large-scale lecture environments. It was particularly effective for students who initially lacked interest but became more engaged over time, as well as for those who maintained strong interest from the beginning. However, the approach showed limited effectiveness in changing the behavior of students whose moderate interest levels remained stable throughout the course. These students did not show significant improvement in engagement or learning behavior despite the instructional changes.departmental bulletin pape
Practical Experiential Project-Based Learning (PBL) in Collaboration with Local Enterprises:Focusing on “the Elements of Well-Being Related to Education”
No full text本実践の目的は、「１・２年生合同奈良めぐり」活動において、地域課題解決に向けた実践体験型PBL を取り入れることで、生徒の地域社会に対する意識や行動の変容を促進することである。具体的には、生徒が地域の動物愛護教育施設（ACE）と協力して動物愛護に関する啓発イベントを開催し、課題解決型の活動に取り組んだ。生徒に事後学習を通じてふり返りを行い、その結果を生徒が協働性や社会貢献意識、地域とのつながり、自己実現感などの「教育に関連するウェルビーイングの要素」でどのような変化を感じたかを分析した結果、社会貢献意識や地域とのつながりにおいて有意な効果が確認され、生徒が地域に貢献している実感を得ることができたことが示された。本実践は生徒のウェルビーイングを高め、地域とのつながりを強化する有効な教育活動であり、今後も定期的な活動を通じて、生徒の学びを深めていくことが重要であると考える。departmental bulletin pape
Local Attachment of the University Student Judging from Meal Experience of the Primary and Secondary Student Period
No full text地域愛着は、個人には生活の質を豊かにし、まちには将来定住したり関係人口になったりして当該地域と関わる者の出現を促し、地域の持続可能性を高める。本研究では、小･中学生期のどのような食経験が大学生とその時期を過ごした地域を結ぶ情緒的な絆やつながりを強めるのかを明らかにしようとした。そのために、大学生への質問調査により地域愛着の強弱を把握し、インタビュー調査により小･中学生の時期の食経験の記憶を把握した。分析の結果、地域愛着の強い大学は、小学生の時期に、地域で、地域の人と共有した食経験の記憶が多いことが明らかになった。そして、地域の人に温かさや優しさを感じ、地域の人と挨拶を交わす関係性のなかで、居心地の良さやコミュニティへの所属感、帰属感を抱いてた。他方、小･中学生期の居住地と通学地域が異なった大学生の語りから、通学していた地域で友達と過ごした思い出や楽しかった記憶は、当該地域に対する好意を引き寄せることが示唆された。departmental bulletin pape
Development of ESD Teaching Materials Using Paleoclimatology and Cognitive Archaeology:Based on Analysis of Course of Study and Textbooks for Junior High School Social Studies and Historical Fields
No full text2017（平成29）年に告示された学習指導要領の前文に「持続可能な社会の創り手の育成」が明記されたことと、第４期の「教育振興基本計画」において、「持続可能な社会の創り手の育成」及び「日本社会に根差したウェルビーイングの向上」を掲げられたことを受けて、本稿では中学校社会科歴史的分野の学習指導要領と教科書をESD の視点から分析し、埋蔵文化財を活用したESD の教材開発を行うことを目的とした。学習指導要領における「文化財」の位置付けを確認すると、2017（平成29）年告示の学習指導要領ではじめて「文化遺産」を尊重する態度を育成することが明記された。一方で、教科書の分析を行うと、埋蔵文化財の価値に気づかせる教育は展開されているものの、文化遺産を尊重する態度の育成や、埋蔵文化財を切り口にして、現代の諸課題を学ぶ、「埋蔵文化財を通しての教育」が意識されていないことが明らかとなった。以上を踏まえて、ESD の視点から中学校歴史的分野の教科書改善案を２つ提案した。第１に古気候学の成果を援用して、教科書の巻末の年表に、気候のグラフを掲載することである。気候が加わることで、環境からの考察が可能になり、環境・社会・経済の関係性を踏まえた学びが可能になると考える。第２に、認知考古学の研究の成果として、古代人と現代人の根本的な価値観や認知は変わらないということが示されているため、古代人と現代人が共通してもつ普遍的な価値観に気づき、知恵や思考を学ぶことで、価値観と行動の変革を促せると考える。さらに、二つの改善案をもとに授業実践を行ったところ、授業の前後で、現代の気候変動の解決のための行動を起こしたいと考える生徒が増加した。departmental bulletin pape

No full text本稿の目的は、持続可能な社会の担い手を育成する上で、地域固有の食文化を題材として扱うことの意義を整理し、小学校における総合的な学習の時間の単元を構想することである。食文化を題材とした授業実践や先行研究は多くあるが、食文化を保護・保全する意義まで掘り下げて論じている研究は多くはない。そのため本稿では、①文化多様性の保護・保全、②環境負荷の低減、③新たな食文化の創造・発展の３つの観点から意義を整理した。また、それに基づいて大分県臼杵市の食文化を例に、それらの意義がどのように臼杵市の食文化に表れているのかを論じ、小学校の総合的な学習の時間の単元構想を行った。departmental bulletin pape
Examining the Commonalities and Usefulness of Independence Activities and ESD:Guiding Independence Activities and Transforming Children through Making Leaf Mold
No full text本研究は、自立活動においてESD が広く認知されていない課題を受け、従来の特別支援教育に留まらず、ESDの視点で自立活動を捉え、活動の視野が広がることを明らかにすることを目的に、先行研究と特別支援教育に関わる教員への調査を実施した。そして、自立活動の内容とESD の資質・能力の関係性を検討した。その上で、自立活動にESD を取り入れた実践として腐葉土づくりをテーマにしたことで、支援の有する児童の「人間関係の形成」「コミュニケーション」の変容が見られた。このことから自立活動にESD を取り入れる有用性が示唆された。しかし、学校教育におけるESD の認知や実践の少なさが今後の課題として考えられる。departmental bulletin pape
