Optimal Design of Optical Waveguide Devices Utilizing Beam Propagation Method with ADI Scheme
This paper shows structural optimal design of optical waveguide components utilizing an efficient 3D frequency-domain and 2D time-domain beam propagation method (BPM) with an alternating direction implicit (ADI) scheme. Usual optimal design procedure is based on iteration of numerical simulation, and total computational cost of the optimal design mainly depends on the efficiency of numerical analysis method. Since the system matrices are tridiagonal in the ADI-based BPM, efficient analysis and optimal design are available. Shape and topology optimal design shown in this paper is based on optimization of density distribution and sensitivity analysis to the density parameters. Computational methods of the sensitivity are shown in the case of using the 3D semi-vectorial and 2D time-domain BPM based on ADI scheme. The validity of this design approach is shown by design of optical waveguide components: mode converters, and a polarization beam splitter.journal articl
Overspeeding characteristics of turbomachinery for gas generator cycle air turbo ramjet engine
The main interest in the current study focuses on the possibility of overspeeding for the gas-generator cycle air turbo ramjet (GG-ATR) engine. The authors developed the air turbo ramjet engine and investigated its compressor performance. Based on those data, the authors developed the analytical code for the air turbo ramjet engine, which calculates the performances of turbomachinery, gas-generator, and ram combustor. The previous study described that the rotor overspeeding would not occur in the air turbo rocket engine. However, the current results show that degraded ram combustion can decrease the compressor pressure ratio and the compressor power. This reduced compressor power can cause overspeeding for the air turbo ramjet engine. The experimental results of compressor power and turbine inlet pressure support those analytical results.journal articl
Bond Property of Post-installed Adhesive Anchors to Frozen Damaged Concrete
寒冷地の鉄筋コンクリート(RC)構造物は,凍結融解作用によって表層部から劣化が進行することが危惧される.そこで,表層部が劣化したRC部材に対する接着系アンカーの付着性能について検証した.まず,液体窒素を用いてコンクリート表層部に凍結融解作用を与え,劣化度合いをパラメータとしてアンカー筋の付着実験を行った.その結果,表層部の劣化度合いが大きいほど付着強度が小さくなった.さらに,既往の鉄筋とコンクリートの付着すべりモデル(CEB-FIPモデル)の係数を調節することで,本実験結果を良好に再現することができた.journal articl
Influence of hydrothermal synthesis conditions and carbonation on physical properties of xonotlite-based lightweight material
application/pdfThis paper investigates the effect of the hydrothermal synthesis conditions on the formation of xonotlite and the change of xonotlite-based lightweight material's (Xo_AAC) physical properties under carbonation. Experiments included: quantitative X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric differential thermal analysis, drying shrinkage, carbonation shrinkage, compressive strength, mercury intrusion porosimetry, thermomechanical analysis, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance, water vapor absorption isothermal, and nanoindentation test. The pure crystalline xonotlite was formed at 230 degrees C for the autoclaving time of more than 18 h and at short heating time (2 h). The drying shrinkage and dimensional change rate of Xo_AAC were smaller than that of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). The compressive strength of Xo_AAC was slightly increased after carbonation. The carbonation of Xo_AAC occurred more quickly than AAC containing silicone oil. However, the amount of carbonation shrinkage was almost the same for both Xo_AAC and AAC in a later period.journal articl
モバイル決済システムの導入における商人の意図と感情 - 日本,中国,台湾,タイ
室蘭工業大学Muroran Institute of Technology博士(工学)application/pdf本稿は,モバイル決済システムの導入における商人の意図と感情の影響を調べたものである.本研究は商人の経営する店舗のシステム導入状況に着目した.Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology(UTAUT)を用いてモデルの拡張を行った.拡張したモデルの有用性を実験で検証した.1章に,本研究の着目した問題点と研究の概要を示す.違う国の商人のモバイル決済システムの導入状況の比較を行った.UTAUTに基づいて新しいモデルの提案を行った.従来のモデルに正の社会的影響(Positive Social Influence)と負の社会的影響(Negative Social Influence)を追加した.また,感情を調節器(moderator)として追加した.追加後のモデルをUTAUTの拡張モデルと呼ぶ.2章に,先行研究が発見したモバイル決済システム導入の要素について記述する.社会的影響(Social Influence)がシステム導入に大きく影響するとわかった.また,正の社会的影響(Positive Social Influence)と負の社会的影響(Negative Social Influence)を論じたものについても言及した.そして,感情が要素間の関係への影響を調べるために,感情モデルであるPlutchik wheel of emotionsを調節器として用いた.3章に,研究の手法を記述する.データ収集の対象は,日本,中国,台湾,タイのモバイル決済システムを導入または未導入の小型商業店舗である.UTAUTの拡張モデルに基づいてアンケートの設問項目をデザインして,各国の言語に翻訳したバージョンを作成し,アンケート調査を行った.アンケートは紙媒体,オンライン,郵便,ファックスで実施した.分析前,収集したデータを前処理した.4章に,構造方程式モデリングの分析結果を示す.調節器分析で要素間の関係を調べた.また,カイ二乗検定を用いてモバイル決済システムを導入した商人と導入しなかった商人の違いを示した.5章に,各国のデータで得られた結果の考察を示す.日本,中国,台湾のシステム導入の商人には,正の社会的影響と行為的意図(Behavioral intention)の違いに有意差がみられた.かつ,日本,台湾,タイのシステム未導入の商人には,正の社会的影響と行為的意図の違いに有意差がみられた.中国,台湾,タイのシステム導入の商人とタイのシステム未導入の商人には,促進条件(Facilitating condition)と使用行為(Use behavior)の違いに有意差がみられた.タイのシステム導入の商人には,負の社会的影響と行為的意図の違いに有意差がみられた.また,各国の結果によって感情が要素間の関係に影響を与えていることがわかった.各国において,システム導入と未導入の商人の感情に有意差がみられた.本稿は,商人のモバイル決済システムに対する意図と感情の視点から,技術受容のメンタルモデルの調査に貢献するものである.This paper discusses the effects of merchants' intentions and emotions on introducing mobile payment systems. We considered the acceptance of mobile payment systems' technology in the merchants' shops. We used and extended the new model based on the Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). The performance of the model was shown by conducting experiments. In Chapter 1, the introduction and proposal of this research is shown. We compared the acceptance of mobile payment systems' technology in the merchants' shops in different countries. And we modified and proposed new model based on the Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. We modified UTAUT model by adding the factors of positive social influence, negative social influence as constructs and the factors of emotions as the moderators. And we call the new model as Extended-UTAUT model. In Chapter 2, we reviewed the acceptance factors of mobile payment from previous studies. We found that social influence is one of the essential critical factors for accepting the mobile payment system. Moreover, we reviewed and found more about positive and negative social influences. Furthermore, the emotion model of the Plutchik wheel of emotions was reviewed and applied as the moderators for finding the influence on the relationship between factors. The research methodologies are described in chapter 3. The target participants were Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Thai merchants who use and do not use mobile payment systems in small business shops. The question items were created based on Extended-UTAUT and were translated into Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese and Thai, and used in the surveys in each country. We collect data by paper questionnaire, online, mail, and facsimile. After that we screened data and choose only complete questionnaire before analyzing. In Chapter 4, We analyzed the results of Structure Equation modelling of the factors. We used moderator analysis for finding the influence on the relationship between factors. Moreover, the Chi-square was used to find the difference between the merchants who used and do not use mobile payment in the shop. In Chapter 5, the results from these four countries are concluded and discussed. We found that the positive social influence has a significant difference in behavioral intention for groups of Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese merchants who use mobile payment systems in shop. For the group of merchants who do not use the mobile payment system in the shop, the positive social influence is significantly different to behavioral intention for Japanese, Taiwanese, and Thai merchants. For the facilitating condition, the influence has a significant difference to use behavior; the results show in the group of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Thai merchants who use mobile payment system in the shop and Thai merchants who do not use mobile payment systems in shop. The negative social influence has a significant difference in behavioral intention in the case of Thai who use mobile payment system in shop. Moreover, we found that the moderators of emotions have influence on the relationship in every country. Furthermore, we found high significant difference in emotions between these two groups in every country. This paper contributes to the investigation on mental model of technology acceptance from the perspective of merchants’ intention and emotion towards using the mobile payment system.

高マンガン片状黒鉛鋳鉄の機械的性質に関する研究
室蘭工業大学Muroran Institute of Technology博士(工学)application/pdf自動車の車体材料には高強度化と軽量化の観点から高張力鋼(ハイテン)が多く使用されている.この高張力鋼はマンガン(Mn)の添加により高強度を確保しており,この高張力鋼屑が鋳鉄の鉄原材料として多く使用されてきている.しかし,Mnは基地中のパーライトを促進させるが,同時に溶鉄中で炭素の活量を減少して炭化物を安定させるため,鋳鉄にチル化を促進させる欠点があり,Mnを多く含んだ高Mn鋼屑のリサイクルが課題となっている.本研究では鋳放し片状黒鉛鋳鉄の薄肉高強度化と高Mn鋼のリサイクルを目的として,Mn含有量の異なる片状黒鉛鋳鉄の諸特性に及ぼす炭素当量(CE値)と冷却速度(肉厚)との影響について検討し,疲労強度に及ぼすMnの影響を調査を行った.第一章では片状黒鉛鋳鉄の一般的な特性を述べると共に,本研究の目的について述べた.第二章では,JIS規格のFC100~FC350に相当するCE値の異なる片状黒鉛鋳鉄の機械的性質に及ぼすMn添加量と冷却速度の影響について調査した.基地組織のパーライトはCE値が小さくなるほど,Mn添加量が多くなるほど増加した.パーライト層間隔は冷却速度が大きく,CE値が小さく,Mn添加量が多くなるほど小さくなった.第三章ではMn添加量を変化させた各種FC材を溶製し,平滑材と切欠き材を用い平面曲げ疲労試験を行うことで,FCの疲労強度と切欠き感受性に及ぼすMnの影響を調査した.疲労試験結果から,最大で213MpaとFCD500相当材に迫る高い値が示された.また,切欠きによる強度の低下は全ての供試材で同程度であり,切りかけに鈍感であると評価された.第四章では厚肉供試材に注湯し,疲労強度に及ぼす肉厚感受性の影響を調査した.全ての供試材において34~50%の低下を示され,Mnの添加量の増加による疲労強度の低下が抑制されないことを明確にした.また,ラメラ層間隔は薄板供試材の3倍以上の拡大を示しており,高Mn片状黒鉛鋳鉄は動荷重を受ける疲労破壊において,パーライト組織の緻密化及び安定化が重要であると考察した.第五章ではこれまでの研究結果を基に実操業に応用し,Mn添加の効果は実操業の溶湯でも明確に再現され,今後,高Mn鋳鉄製品の薄肉軽量化,高強度化が期待される結果が得られた.第六章は総括であり,本研究の成果を要約した.High-strength steel (HITEN) is often used as the body material of automobiles from the viewpoint of high strength and light weight. This high-strength steel secures high strength by adding manganese (Mn), and this high-strength steel scrap has been widely used as an iron raw material for cast iron. However, Mn promotes pearlite in the matrix, but at the same time, it reduces the activity of carbon in molten iron and stabilizes carbides, so it has the disadvantage of promoting chilling in cast iron, and high Mn steel containing a large amount of Mn. Recycling of waste is an issue. In this study, the carbon equivalent (CE value) and cooling rate (thickness) on various characteristics of flake graphite cast iron with different Mn contents are aimed at increasing the thinness and strength of as-cast flake graphite cast iron and recycling high Mn steel. And the effect of Mn on fatigue intensity was investigated. In chapter 1 describes the general characteristics of flake graphite cast iron and the purpose of this study. In Chapter 2, we investigated the effects of the amount of Mn added and the cooling rate on the mechanical properties of flake graphite cast iron with different CE value equivalent to JIS standards FC100 to FC350. The pearlite in the matrix structure increased as the CE value decreased and the amount of Mn added increased. The pearlite layer spacing became smaller as the cooling rate was higher, the CE value was smaller, and the amount of Mn added was larger. In Chapter 3, various FC materials with different amounts of Mn added are melted, and a planar bending fatigue test is performed using a smooth material and a notch material to examine the effect of Mn on the fatigue strength and notch sensitivity of FC. investigated. From the fatigue test results, a maximum of 213 MPa, which is close to the FCD500 equivalent material, was shown. In addition, the decrease in strength due to the notch was similar for all test materials, and it was evaluated to be insensitive to cutting. In Chapter 4, we poured hot water into thick-walled test materials and investigated the effect of wall-thickness sensitivity on fatigue strength. A decrease of 34 to 50% was shown in all the test materials, and it was clarified that the decrease in fatigue strength due to the increase in the amount of Mn added was not suppressed. In addition, the lamellar layer spacing is more than three times larger than that of the thin plate test material, and it is considered that pearlite structure densification and stabilization are important for fatigue fracture under dynamic load for high Mn flake graphite cast iron. bottom. In Chapter 5, based on the research results so far, it is applied to actual operation, and the effect of adding Mn is clearly reproduced even in the molten metal of actual operation, and it is expected that high Mn cast iron products will be thinner, lighter and stronger in the future. エンドミル加工における加工誤差予測のための複合モデリング
室蘭工業大学Muroran Institute of Technology博士(工学)application/pdf機械加工は、製造業における部品製造プロセスにとして重要な加工方法です。生産性と製品品質は、常に製造技術の重要な課題として考えられてきました。現代の製造業は、部品や製品の加工精度と効率を向上させることを求められています。機械加工プロセスには、複雑な加工現象が含まれ、多くの場合ではプロセスの制約が発生し、製品の品質が低下します。加工誤差は、複雑な加工現象の代表的なもののひとつであり、切削条件、工作物形状、材料特性、切削抵抗、工作物変形などの変化に影響されます。したがって、これらの要件を解決するには、加工誤差を予測するための信頼できる方法が不可欠です。新たな製造業のトレンドとして、小ロット生産が注目されています。消費者の行動の変化により、個人化された高品質の製品が求められる傾向が高まり、消費者と直結した製造サービスが提案されています。また、大量生産のための製品試作や金型製作も、エンドミル加工によって実現される小ロット生産といえます。エンドミル加工は、多種多様な材料を使用した部品や製品を直接加工するための有効な方法です。この加工方法は、費用と時間のかかる金型の準備を必要としません。この研究では、柔軟弾性体のエンドミル加工における加工誤差モデリングを扱います。これは、柔軟弾性体が独特の弾性変形特性と亀裂の発生形態を有し、加工誤差の制御が難しいためです。柔軟弾性体エンドミル加工における加工誤差の従来の制御方法は、柔軟弾性体部品の機械加工サービスを提供する企業のノウハウに依存し、体系的な研究は十分なされていません。したがって、本論文は、提案する加工誤差モデル化手法の対象として柔軟弾性体のエンドミル加工を対象とすることにしました。加工精度を確保し、加工プロセスを制御するために、本論文では、加工誤差モデリングのための体系的なフレームワークをもとにした加工誤差モデルの構築手法を提案します。提案するフレームワークでは、モデル変数の候補は予備実験に基づいて評価されます。候補となるモデル変数は、切削条件と、工作物の変形や切削抵抗などの物理的状態変数です。提案されたモデルは、従来のデータ中心のアプローチ、経験的な知識を基にしたアプローチ、および主成分分析(PCA)を基にした統計的アプローチによって構築されます。モデルの係数を計算し、線形回帰モデルを形成するために、相関係数と重回帰法が採用されています。従来の切削条件ベースモデル、経験的モデル、統計ベースモデルの3つの異なるモデルが構築されます。統計モデルの構築では、有効変数を決定するために提案された体系的な手順が利用されます。その後、評価実験としてより大きな実験事例を用いてモデルの妥当性を評価します。実験結果は、提案手法により構築されたモデルを用いて計算された加工誤差と測定された加工誤差の比較に用います。比較の結果として、提案手法を基にした統計ベースモデルは実験結果と最も良好な一致を示しました。以上の結論として、提案された加工誤差モデリング手法の妥当性を確認することができました。Machining is a method that important to the manufacturing process in the industry. Productivity and product quality are always concerned with significant issues in manufacturing technologies. Modern manufacturing aims to improve the machining accuracy and efficiency of parts and products. However, machining variables involve the complex machining phenomenon that usually generates process limitations and reduces product quality. Machining error is one of responsiveness in complex machining phenomenon. It has directly influenced by varying cutting conditions, workpiece shape, material characteristics, cutting force, and workpiece deformation. Therefore, a reliable method for predicting machining errors is essential to solving these requirements. Small-lot production has attracted attention in the new tendency of manufacturing. Due to the changing consumer behavior, the personalized, high-quality, and technology trends require the service of direct-to-consumer manufacturing. Product prototype and mould making for mass production are regarded as small-lot production that suitably serves by milling process. On the other hand, end-milling is also a capable method for direct operating on parts or products with a large variety of materials. This method does not require expensive and time-consuming preparation. This research deals with a machining error modelling for the end-milling of elastomer material because it's uniquely elastic deformation, crack generation, and difficult to control machining error. Conventional control method of machining error in elastomer end-milling has been studied with a limitation because most machining services of the elastomeric parts are based on enterprise-dependent dexterities or know-how. Therefore, this material has been selected to be a case study in this research. In order to secure machining accuracy and control the phenomenon, this dissertation proposes the machining error models through a systematic framework for machining error modelling. In the framework, the candidates of model variables are evaluated based on the preliminary experiments. Candidate variables are the cutting conditions and physical state variables such as workpiece deformation and cutting force. The proposed models are constructed by conventional data-centric approach, mechanistic knowledge-based approach, and principal component analysis (PCA) based statistical approaches. The correlation coefficient and multiple regression method are employed to compute the model's coefficient and form the linear regression model. Three different models: the conventional cutting condition model, mechanistic model, and statistical model are constructed. At the statistical model construction, a proposed systematic procedure to determine the effective variable is utilized. Afterward, the models are investigated by using larger experimental cases as the evaluation experiment. From the experimental results, it become possible to make a comparison between calculated and measured machining errors. In addition, the statistical model provides relatively good agreement. Therefore, it could be confirmed the proposed machining error modelling method can generate the appropriate process model.doctoral thesi
Kinetics of amyloid accumulation in physiological viscosity
application/pdfAbnormal aggregation and accumulation of misfolded proteins are involved in the development of various forms of amyloidosis. Aggregates that accumulate in organs induce an inflammatory response and cytotoxicity, and lead to organ failure. Although protein accumulation around an affected area in the body is an important stage that is directly linked to the mechanism of pathogenesis, the kinetics of the accumulation of protein that precipitates while assembling is not well understood because 3D tracking of proteins in solution is difficult. Here, we analyzed the process of aggregation and accumulation of amyloid beta (A beta), which causes the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD), by real-time 3D imaging under physiological conditions using a quantum dot nanoprobe that we previously developed. 3D observations demonstrated that A beta aggregates with a diameter of several mu m emerged in phosphate-buffered saline, gathered in a spiral-like step, and exhibited a mesh-like structure. Additionally, we found that the amount and size of aggregates decreased dramatically in 40% glycerol solution, mimicking the viscosity of human blood. We confirmed that fibrils in 40% glycerol exhibited an extremely short and tangled morphology and formed dense aggregates. Furthermore, numerical calculations revealed that several decades are required to fully develop the settling velocity and diameter of A beta aggregates in physiological conditions. This time span is consistent with the actual symptom progression of AD.journal articl
液体の温度-粘度特性を利用したフランジ・ガスケットの漏れ制御
室蘭工業大学Muroran Institute of Technology博士(工学)application/pdfガスケットは、静止固体面間における隙間の漏れを防ぐために、機械装置から生活用品の静的シールとして広く使用されている。液体の漏れは、隙間の高さの3乗に比例することから、基本的には隙間を狭める方策が採られる。通常、材料の弾性および塑性変形を用いることで防止される。その場合、しばしばクランプ力を増加させるが、過度のクランプ力は、表面の損傷を引き起こす可能性が高い。さらに、固体表面に存在する粗さやうねりのため、隙間を完全に埋めることは不可能である。一方で、液体の物性値に着目すると、温度が低いほど粘度が高くなる。漏れは液体の粘度に反比例する。よって、漏れの流路の温度を制御することで、漏れを抑え、ガスケットのシール性能を一段と高める可能性が考えられる。本研究では、その可能性を熱流体潤滑理論に基づく数値モデルとふたつの金属円板で構成させたフランジ・ガスケットのモデルによる実験により検証した。本論文は、全体で8章で構成される。第1章は序論である。静的および動的シールに関する概要をまとめ、数学モデルの基礎となる流体潤滑理論ならびに液体の粘度特性を概観し、ガスケットを中心に従来の研究のレビューならびに本研究の位置づけを述べている。第2章は理論モデルである。本数学モデルの基礎となる、熱流体潤滑理論に基づき、レイノルズ方程式、エネルギー方程式、熱伝導方程式などの基礎方程式ならびに圧力と温度の境界条件を導出している。また、等粘度理論との比較、数値計算方法、圧力や温度分布を示している。第3章は実験装置と方法である。2枚の金属製円板によるフランジ・ガスケットのモデルを述べている。ペルチェモジュールにより、その円板を冷却・加熱することにより、隙間を流れる液体の粘度を制御する装置の構成を示し、加圧や加振なども含めて、実験および計測の方法について述べている。第4章は定常状態下における実験結果である。隙間、供給圧力、シール面寸法、潤滑油の粘度グレード、隙間の傾斜の影響などについて述べている。第5章は加振条件下における実験結果である。加振条件の実験や計測の方法、加振の周波数や振幅に関する実験結果に加えて、振動条件下における傾斜隙間の計算結果などを述べている。第6章は湾曲したシール面の場合の数値結果である。理論計算により、凹凸面を呈する、温度制御されたシール面が漏れに及ぼす影響について述べている。第7章は実際のフランジガスケットを模擬した実験結果である。JIS規格のフランジにペルチェモジュールを装着し、シール面を垂直方向に設置し、加圧した潤滑油を供給する条件において、ガスケットを冷却することで漏れの効果を検証している。第8章は本論文の結論である。定常状態下はもとより、振動、寸法、潤滑油種、隙間形状、設置方法等によらず、フランジガスケットのシール面を冷却・加熱することにより、漏れを制御することができることを理論と実験の両面により検証することができたこと、ならびにその有効性や発展性を述べている。Gaskets are widely used as static seals in industry, machinery, and living ware for preventing leakage between the static solid surfaces. Since leakage of fluid is proportional to the cube of gap height, the basic method for preventing leakage is taken to narrow the gap. Generally, leakage is decreased by using elastic and plastic deformation of material, which caused by the increased clamping force. However, excessive clamping force may lead to surface damage. Moreover, it is impossible to fill the gap completely because of the rough nature and waviness of the solid surfaces of gasket. On the other hand, according to the liquid physical characteristics in viscosity, leakage is inversely proportional to the lubricant viscosity, as lower temperatures correspond to higher viscosities. Therefore, it is possible to control the leakage by changing the temperature of sealing flanges to enhance the sealing performance of gasket further. In this dissertation, the possibility was confirmed by using the mathematical model based on the thermo-hydrodynamic lubrication theory (THL) and iso-viscous (IV) theory, and experiments with a flange-type gasket which composed of two metal disks. The dissertation consists of eight chapters in total. Chapter 1 is the introduction. It summarizes the outline of static and dynamic sealing, the overview of fluid lubrication theory and liquid viscosity characteristics that form the basics of mathematical models were shown. And it reviewed plenty of conventional studies focusing on gaskets, and described the position of this research. Chapter 2 is the theoretical model. The mathematical model is based on the thermo-hydrodynamic lubrication theory, the basic differential equations such as the Reynolds equation, the energy equation, and the heat conduction equation, as well as the boundary conditions of pressure and temperature are derived. The theoretical solution by using the THL theory was compared with the IV theory, the numerical calculation procedure, and the pressure and temperature distribution were shown. Chapter 3 is the experimental apparatus and method. The flange-type gasket model consists of two metal disks was depicted. The configuration of the experimental devices that controls the viscosity of the liquid flowing through the gap by cooling and heating the disk from the Peltier module was shown, and the experimental and measurement methods including pressurization and vibration were also described. Chapter 4 is the experimental results under steady-state condition. The effect of the gap height, supply pressure, sealing land size, oil viscosity grade, and gap parallelism on leakage of flow were described. Chapter 5 is the experimental results under the vibration condition. The experimental and measurement methods of the vibration conditions and the experimental results on the vibration frequency and amplitude, including the theoretical solutions of the inclined gap with vibrations were described. Chapter 6 is the numerical results for the curved sealing surface of flange. The effect of temperature-controlled sealing flange with uneven surfaces on leakage was solved by iteration calculation based on the THL theory. Chapter 7 is the experimental results simulating an actual flange-type gasket. The Peltier module was mounted on the JIS standard flange and the sealing surfaces were installed vertically. The leakage–restrain phenomenon was verified by cooling the gasket flanges under the condition of supplying bolt preload torque and pressurized lubricating oil. Chapter 8 is the conclusion of this dissertation. The leakage can be controlled by cooling and heating the sealing surface of the flange-type gasket regardless of vibration, sealing land size, oil viscosity grade, gap height, installation direction, etc., as well as under steady-state conditions.
