Conflicts between Coordination of Services at Independent Living Centers and Consumer-side choice in care received : experience as a factor in consumers receiving assistant services
P(論文)This study attempted to analyze whether prior experience of consumers who use Centers of Independent Living impacts conflicts between themselves and their coordinators. This research involved 51 consumers, who were divided into two groups based upon their level of experience in receiving services. A 15 item questionnaire was analyzed for potential conflicts with coordinators. Only one item was found to be different between the two groups: More experience respondents indicated that coordinators interfered with consumers choice of personal assistants, resulting in undesired or inappropriate caregivers being chosen. One possible explanation for this finding is that consumers with more experience may be more critical and demanding about care services. However, the coordination system at Centers of Independent Living may not adequately respond to consumer needs and current care giving staff resources may be inadequate.departmental bulletin pape
Vocabulary Development in Children aged 12-23 Month : Correlation of Noun
P(論文)In the present study, we analyzed the "vocabulary checklist" of 310 children aged 12-23 months. We focused on the relationship between age and the size of the noun vocabulary that children have acquired, what word category is acquired earliest, and the relationship between the sequence of vocabulary acquisition and age. The results showed that (1) the proportion of nouns was comparatively high in the vocabularies of all children, (2) the number of nouns that have been acquired increases with age, and (3) the word category that is closely related to the daily life of a child and expresses "things", such as "animals", "people", and "food and drink", is used most frequently. These results indicate that environmental factors influence vocabulary acquisition. Therefore, it is necessary to statistically examine the use of baby talk. Moreover, in addition to the expression of vocabulary, it is also necessary to examine the understanding of vocabulary.departmental bulletin pape
The study of plantar pressure in gaiting : the analysis of gait pattern with a plantar pressure distribution measurement system
P(論文)The purpose of this study was to investigate the gait pattern of healthy subjects with simulated hemiplegia. Eighteen occupational therapy students (13 females, 5 males) were asked to wear orthosis on right knee joints to demonstrate a simulated hemiplegic gait pattern. The relative impulses under 6 plantar areas (great toe, inside forefoot, middle forefoot, outside forefoot, middle sole of foot, and heel), and the duration of foot contact to the ground were measured using a plantar pressure distribution measurement system (GP multisense, Beltec Japan), and compared between right and left foot of each subject. The results showed all participants demonstrated a hemiplegic gait pattern. Using the simulated gait experience and the measurement system may enable the students to feel and experience the clinical situation even in a class.departmental bulletin pape
Relationship between allergic symptoms and life style among junior high school students
P(論文)The purpose of this study was to investigate allergic symptoms, life style, and equivocal symptoms among 518 junior high school students in Kobe city damaged ten years ago by Hanshin earthquake. Bivariate analysis was conducted to examine some relationships among allergic symptoms, their life style, and equivocal symptoms. Prevalence of urticaria was significantly related to feeling fine at the hour of rising (P<0.01). Also, prevalence of asthma was significantly related to their bedtime (P<0.01), shortage of sleep (P<0.05), and studying by themselves (P<0.01). Prevalence of rhinitis was significantly related to shortage of sleep (P<0.05) and lack of physical exercise (P<0.05). These findings suggest that allergic symptoms have no significant relationship with diet, and most of allergic symptoms were significantly related to the situation spending at home.departmental bulletin pape

P(論文)This study examined the understanding of adult care system and the role of the Certified Social Workers in light of the normalizeing practice of protecting of protecting of patient's rights. As a matter of principle, the main purpose of Japanese social welfare is the protection of a specific group of individuals. For that reason, concrete measures have been undertaken by the Government ofr policy implementation. Moreover, with the onset of a rapidly-ageing society, social werfare service has been seen as a matter of basic rights. Whereas, social welfare service has been within the scope of policy-matters, it has morphed to be patient-centered, stressing on his or her decisions and choices. Indeed, the current sustem which promotes and protects patient's rights has ling been necessary. By application of laws, the adult care system protects the rights of patient's suffering from some form of disavilities, though their judgemental ability is deemed to be ligally sufficient. This include patients with dementia, intellectual-and physically-handicapped, and those with mental disease. In recnet years, adult care progession has tremendously increased. In most cases, the care-giver is likely a relative of the patient-bearing informal human relationship. With the practice of social work fastly-spreading, the Certified Social Workers plays a leading and decisive role in the expansion of adult care system. The practice is rapidly normalizing, seen as mecessary for livelihood. It can be said that the practice of the rights protection is rapidly normalizing.departmental bulletin pape

An analysis of the pre-verbal communication behaviors : A child with developmental disorder who exhibited problem behaviors
P(論文)Language delay may be a causal factor of problem hebaviors. Language comprehansion training was adminisutered for a 3-year-old child with problem behavior such as queer voice and self-mutilation. The si training sessions were videoteped and analyzed to obtain the frequency of queer voices, the frequency of self-mutilation, and duration of seat sitting. The frequency of queer voices ranged from 61 to 162. The frequency of self-mutilation ranged from 0 tp 14. The child was able to sit much onger in the last training session (1munite 46seconds at the first session; 13mimutes 54 seconds at the final session). Although the frepuency of problem behaviors was unchanged, the child could attend language training better and spoken language improved. Language test showed the imprevoment of language comprehension from under 12-month level (CA;35 month) to 19-manth (CA:48 monh). Verbal response rate increased. The child may have a benefit from language training, but a special program is needed to reduce the problem behaviors.departmental bulletin pape
