Research for regional support of dwelling elderly people and persons with disabilities (1) : Literature research on effort of Regional Comprehensive Support Center
Get PDFP(論文)When the long term care insurance system was amended in 2006, Regional Comprehensive Support Center, which made strengthening of the base of the support system in community and prevent the life function decline of elderly people, was established. But, there are few reports about the present condition of Regional Comprehensive Support Center in Japan. The aim of this study was to investigate reports about community support, and to verify the present condition and subjects of Regional Comprehensive Support system in Japan. Results indicated that practice about the prevention of the life function decline of elderly people, which is in the center of the business, was only about 30%, and the comprehensive support system in community was not enough structuralized. We considered that it was necessary to structuralize the community support model that Regional Comprehensive Support Center play a important role in whole of the system.departmental bulletin pape
The Concept and Application of KanjiHybrids : Basic Review of The Kanji Handbook

By the word "hybrid", one gets the idea of two combined elements forming a new body. Under the concept, the first letter of an English word was replaced by the corresponding Kanji character to form a single and indivisible units, called "KanjiHybrids". Consciousness and behavior about health improvement among the welfare major university students
Get PDFP(論文)A group of university students who major in social welfare, total number of subjects being 82 (53 males and 29 females), volunteered for this questionnaire survey, which intends to find out their consciousness and current behavior tendencies about health maintenance/improvements. The questionnaire results were statistically processed to examine certain tendencies of consciousness and behavior about health improvement in reference to the recommendation that were provided by "Healthy Japan 21" reflecting the policies of Health and Labor Ministry. The results suggested that in certain areas, the current subjects demonstrated satisfactory knowledge and behavior, while in other areas such as specific nutrition intake of vegetables and undesirable fat, and specific method of body weight control, they seemed to be in need of more exact knowledge and strong intention to achieve such health self-control.departmental bulletin pape
Supportive ways to ensure residential facilities for the mentally handicapped : Questionnaire findings from a survey of real estate agencies in the Nobeoka area.
Get PDFP(論文)One feature of medical treatment for the mentally handicapped in Japan is the high number of long-term inpatient hospital stays. One of the causes for these hospital stays is the lack of residential facilities willing to accept these patients after they leave the hospital. This research analyzes the findings of a questionnaire survey among real estate agencies. After analyzing the survey results, three important matters were clarified. These concerned allaying the misgivings of real estate agencies concerning handicapped patients and improving the willingness of real estate agencies to lease housing to such patients. Firstly, it is important to create an information center for real estate agencies to provide information related to mental illness and mental health services. Secondly, it is important to clarify the role of medical institutions as friendly consulting places for real estate agencies who are renting out residential facilities for the mentally handicapped. Thirdly, it is important to construct a residential support network which can take the initiative in solving problems for patients and real estate agencies related to medical institutions, public health centers, local government offices, and other agencies.departmental bulletin pape
The Welfare Nature in "Han Fei Zi"
Get PDFP(論文)This paper investigates social welfare's ideas in oriental thought that have been until now overlooked in contemporary social welfare studies, focusing in particular on "Han Fei zi." The conventional ideology of Han Fei zi has been that law takes top priority, especially insisting on a policy of severe punishment and rejection of benevolence. It has been thought that the ideology or Han Fei zi is incompatible with that of contemporary welfare. However, as opposed to the long-standing views on Han Fei zi, in this paper it is shown that Han Fei zi realizes the importance of aiding the weak and that it possesses a system to help them as well as not to create them, and furthermore that the rigid application of law makes all of this possible. With this in mind, the Han Fei zi ideology appears to not contradict welfare ideology by any means. Inhibition of anophthalmos in rats
Get PDFP(論文)Reduction in the occurrence of anophthalmos (congenital absence of the eye) in genetically predisposed rats through the use of supplements was demonstrated here. The KUHW rats used in the present experiments were bred in the authors' colonies, and anophthalmos, defined as the absence of one or both eyes, was observed in 53.4% of fourth-generation rats (F4). Among the fifth-generation progeny (F5) born to F4 parents with anophthalmos of both eyes (W-type), anophthalmos occurred in 100 of 195 (51.3%) progeny that were born to F4 parents with anophthalmos of both eyes (W-type) following normal pregnancy, (F5-0). In the experimental group F5-a, anophthalmos occurred in 37 of 71 (52.1%) progeny born to F4 parents that were given a 50% moromi (mash) vinegar solution in place of drinking water from start of gestation to three weeks postparturition. Similarly, no inhibitory effects were observed in progeny in the experimental group F5-b, which were born to F4 parents that were given lutein (6 mg/day) as a supplement in regular drinking water, as indicated by occurrence of anophthalmos in 65 of 121 (53.7%) progeny. Subsequently, progeny born to W-type F5-a and F5-b parents under normal breeding conditions showed markedly decreased occurrence of anophthalmos with 14 of 48 rats (29.2%) and 41 of 148 (27.7%) progeny in groups F6-a and F6-b, respectively, showing anopthalmos. These results suggest that administration of moromi vinegar and lutein improved the constitution of F5 rats and subsequently reduced the occurrence of anophthalmos in F6 rats. Three months after this experiment, anophthalmos was observed in 46 of 69 (group F5-c, 66.7%) progeny born to F4 parents under normal breeding conditions. Subsequently, anophthalmos was observed in 32 of 73 (group F6-c, 43.8%) progeny born to group F5-c W-type parents, indicating that the clear reduction in anopthalmos observed in groups F6-a and F6-b compared to groups F5-a and F5-b was due to moromi vinegar and lutein, and the effects of these supplements were thought to be transient.departmental bulletin pape
Introduction of the group encounter for the assistant training program : Actual state of the researches and challenges
Get PDFP(論文)In this research, previous researches are overviewed in order to introduce the constitutive group encounter for assistant training program as a part of a system for solving potential problems between consumers and assistants at Independent Living Center Previous researches show that the more experiences consumers have in receiving assistances, the more sensitivity to assistants consumers have resulting in potential troubles. Likewise, the more experiences assistants have, the more they have potential troubles. These findings suggest that service coordinators should establish a solving system and there is a necessity of assistant training as a part of the system. Two research challenges were presented for introducing the constitutive encounter group based on the previous researches: (1) it is required to choose and modify appropriate exercises and discuss the combinations because there is no previous research targeting at assistants and (2) we should discuss evaluation methods and periods before and after performing the program in order to measure the effects of the program.departmental bulletin pape
The Youngsters in Rural Districts and Their After Compulsory Education in China : The Reality of Youngsters Working in the City away from Their Rural Home
Get PDFP(論文)The purpose of this paper is to consider the gap between the urban and rural standards of education in China, and to describe the reality of youngsters who graduate from junior high schools and go to working in the big city away from their rural home. To solve this education gap, the Communist Party and Government set forth the policy about rural education in "The Annual Report of Political Affairs 2006". This policy, however, stresses the compulsory education and vocational education in poor rural districts, but does not refer to the problem related to high schools and higher education.
