Challenges and future prospects of healthcare in Myanmar : Based on observations from the most recent five years (2009-2014)
Get PDFP(論文)Myanmar has undergone drastic political and economic reforms since 2010 and rapid changes have occurred in various sectors. During the period from 2009 to 2014, this author observed these changes while acting as an advisor for the Japan International Cooperation Agency Project (JICA). This project was implemented to strengthen the manpower of health workers in the country at the peripheral level. Through these observations, it became apparent that several urban areas (especially Yangon and Nepyidaw) have benefited greatly from the influx of foreign money and through economic reforms, as evidence by a growing number of vehicles and the dramatic increase in construction projects (e.g. large hotels and shopping centers, etc.). However, only the rich seem to be enjoying the urban prosperity. In contrast to this economic development, the situation of the healthcare system has not seen any visible improvement from economic reforms, especially in the rural areas which 70% of population inhabits. People there are suffering from higher morbidity and mortality rates in comparison to other Asian countries, and this is due to the far lower budget allocation of GDP for healthcare (ranking 170 in the world). The Myanmar Ministry of Health (MOH) has been trying to improve the situation through ambitious budget allocations and some reforms, but has not achieved recognizable outcomes so far, especially at the peripheral level. However, the democratic atmosphere in Myanmar, which would put peopleʼ s health first, could gradually improve the healthcare system, although this might take some time after long decades of junta.departmental bulletin pape

Welfare Ideas in Traditional Moral Education Part2
Get PDFP(論文)In this article I discussed welfare ideas on Yin shi lu , traditional textbook of moral education, which claimed in the time of Ming that there are inevitable retribution and reward that would follow oneʼ s good and evil activities. In Japan, the idea gained popularity in the Edo era, and the translated versions of them were published, thus having a great influence on Japanese moral education. It includes the relief of the poor, the protection of the weak, and the love of the young relevant for welfare ideas. These ideas are still reflected through current assurances of the right to a standard of living and welfare for the weak and the young. Moreover, they encourage the rich to do good deeds actively, and are similar to the "nobles oblige" in Western culture. Because they are deeply rooted in the idea of the inevitable retribution, however, they emphasize their self-profit as a motivation for good deeds. Regional urban planning in bird's-eye view pictures by Yoshida, Hatsusaburo : Pictures of Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture
No full textP(論文)Yoshida Hatsusaburo was a designer of bird's-eye view pictures and he produced whole country. There are picture which he drew in Miyazaki prefecture. Three pictures which Nobeoka city, Miyazaki was drawn on as the subject in that exist, and, after "Nobeoka Meisho Zue (Pictorial Nobeoka)" of 1922, "Nobeoka" of the "Tetsudo Ryoko^ Annai (A guide book for rail travel )" inside in 1923 and World War II, "Nobeoka-shi cho^kanzu (A bird's-eye view picture of Nobeoka City)" in 1952 which this.
