The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. The ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine city of Hierapolis was built on top of this white "castle", hot springs in classical Phrygia. The Phrygians built a temple, probably in the first half of the 3rd century BC and Hierapolis was founded as a thermal spa early in the 2nd century BC. At the end of the 2nd century BC the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. Located on the east side of Bursa, Turkey, the former capital of the Ottoman Turks prior to their conquest of Constantinople in 1453, it was built as a part of complex (a külliye). This mausoleum was built for the fifth Ottoman Sultan, Mehmed I, in Bursa, Turkey upon the commission of Mehmed's son and successor Murad II following the death of the sovereign in 1421. The architect, Hacı Ivaz Pasha designed the tomb and the Yeşil Mosque opposite to it. Crowned with a hemi-spherical dome, the exterior of the mausoleum is clad with green-blue tiles that give it its name and original tiles were replaced by Kütahya tiles after damage of earthquake in 1855.135 film (36×24 mm
