Protontherapie bij volwassenen : Synthese
12 p.ill.,Protontherapie is een radiotherapie-techniek waarmee kankergezwellen intensief kunnen worden bestraald, terwijl de omliggende weefsels (grotendeels) worden gespaard. De laatste jaren kreeg de techniek veel aandacht, omdat er in ons land twee projecten voor protontherapie lopende zijn, één in Leuven en één in Charleroi. De behandeling wordt jaarlijks gegeven aan ongeveer vijftig Belgische patiënten, vaak kinderen met zeldzame kankers. Ze worden momenteel in gespecialiseerde centra in het buitenland behandeld, en dit wordt volledig vergoed door het RIZIV.
Vooraleer de terugbetaling van deze zeer dure techniek uit te breiden naar andere soorten kanker, vroeg het RIZIV aan het Federaal Kenniscentrum voor de Gezondheidszorg (KCE) om de werkzaamheid ervan te onderzoeken. Het KCE vond na een grondige analyse van de internationale wetenschappelijke literatuur helaas geen onweerlegbaar bewijs dat de techniek beter is dan de klassieke radiotherapie

Kosteneffectiviteitsanalyse van een vaccinatie van jongens tegen het HPV-virus : Synthese
21 p.ill.,Het vaccin tegen het humaan papillomavirus (HPV) dat baarmoederhalskanker veroorzaakt, werd ongeveer 10 jaar geleden in ons land geïntroduceerd, maar tot nu toe alleen voor de meisjes. Intussen is echter vastgesteld dat ditzelfde virus ook verantwoordelijk is voor andere kankers, waaronder keelkanker. Hierdoor werden de aanbevelingen in de meeste westerse landen herzien, en is ook in ons land een vaccinatie van de jongens aan de orde. Een dergelijke uitbreiding van een vaccinatieprogramma heeft uiteraard een medische en economische impact. Littératie en santé : quels enseignements tirer des expériences d’autres pays ? – Synthèse
26 p.ill.,Par « littératie en santé », on désigne la capacité d’une personne à comprendre les informations relatives à la santé de manière à pouvoir maintenir ou améliorer sa santé et sa qualité de vie. En Belgique, le niveau de littératie en santé semble problématique pour 30 à 45% de la population.
De nombreux pays ont mis en œuvre des plans d’action destinés à améliorer la littératie en santé de leur population. Le Centre fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de Santé (KCE) a été chargé de les analyser afin d’en tirer des enseignements pour un éventuel plan au niveau belge. Idéalement, la mobilisation devrait concerner tous les secteurs de la société (enseignement, emploi…), mais certainement en premier lieu l’ensemble des professionnels et des organisations de santé. Vers un parcours prénatal intégré pour les grossesses à bas risque : Synthèse
39 p.ill.,Le Centre Fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de Santé (KCE) propose de structurer le suivi de la grossesse par un « parcours de soins prénatals » tissé autour de chaque femme enceinte et adapté à ses besoins spécifiques. En effet, on observe que les futurs parents ne trouvent pas toujours facilement leur chemin dans l’offre de soins existante, et que certaines femmes enceintes passent encore entre les mailles du filet de sécurité que constitue la prise en charge professionnelle. D’autres, par contre, sont sur-suivies.
Pendant le parcours de soins, des « consultations de conseil prénatal personnalisé » (CPP) permettraient de mettre toutes les cartes dans les mains des futurs parents pour piloter en connaissance de cause leur suivi de grossesse, l’accouchement et les premières semaines de vie de leur enfant.
