Perceived parenting styles and emotional eating: The mediating role of coping styles
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of avoidance and compensatory coping styles in the
relationship between perceived parenting styles and emotional eating in adults.
Method: The study sample consisted of 301 individuals. The Young Parenting Inventory, the Emotional Eating Scale, the
Young-Rygh Avoidance Inventory and the Young Compensatory Inventory were used to collect the study data.
Results: Age; body mass index; overcompensating coping style responses of rebellion and counterdependency; and distraction
through activity seen in the avoidance coping style were significant predictors of emotional eating. However, the variable
model created did not indicate that coping styles had a mediating effect on emotional eating behavior.
Conclusion: Consideration of early maladaptive schemas is valuable to understanding the psychological processes involved in
emotional eating. The results of this study may be help to develop greater insight into emotional eating and guide emotional
and behavioral interventions
BİRAZ DA “ERKEKLERDEN” KONUŞALIM MI? HEGEMONİK ERKEKLİK KAVRAMININ FEMİNİST BİR ELEŞTİRİSİ
Türkiye erkeklik çalışmaları literatüründe oldukça merkezi bir yere sahip olan hegemonik erkeklik kavramı,
hem R.W. Connell’ın ortaya koyduğu biçimiyle hem de ikincil literatürdeki kullanımlarında eleştirilerden
azade değildir. Bu çalışmada, kavramın kullanımları eleştirel söylem analizi aracılığıyla 41 makalelik bir
literatür bloğunda, kavrama yöneltilen eleştirilerle birlikte incelenmiştir. Buna göre, niyetinden bağımsız
olarak, hegemonik erkeklik kavramının feminist bir perspektiften bakıldığında çok da başarılı olmadığı
görülmektedir. Heteroseksist patriarkal cinsiyet sistem içerisindeki iktidar ilişkilerini feminist bir ilke
temelinde ele alma noktasındaki bu başarısızlık, erkeklik çalışmalarının geneli için feminist epistemoloji ve
yöntem tartışmaları açısından kullanışlı bir veridi
Terbinafin Tedavisi Alan Onikomikoz Hastalarında Koku Duyusunun Değerlendirilmesi
Aim: The most common side effects of terbinafine are gastrointestinal symptoms. Loss of taste and smell side effects are presented in a small number of case reports. We aimed to measure the effect of terbinafine on the sense of smell and the degree of change in the sense of smell in this study. Material and Methods: Odor identification test (OIT), odor threshold test (OTT), and odor discrimination test (ODT) were applied to the patients treated with terbinafine and the control group. It was applied with “Sniffin Sticks” test pens. Smell test was performed on the patient group just before the start of terbinafine treatment and at the end of 3 months of treatment. Results: There was no statistical difference between the patient and control groups in terms of age (p=0.991) and gender (p=0.811). There was no statistical difference when the initial odor tests of the patient group and the control group were compared. The OIT value of the patient group was 10.15±1.43 at the beginning and 10.10±1.15 at the end of the treatment (p=0.743). The OTT values were 6.23±1.08 at the beginning and 6.21±0.85 at the end of the treatment (p=0.811). The ODT values were 9.71±1.44 at the beginning and 9.69±1.34 at the end of the treatment (p=0.767). There was no statistical difference in the results of the tests performed at the beginning and end of the treatment. Conclusion: There was no adverse effect on the sense of smell associated with the use of systemic terbinafine treatment for 3 months. © 2021, Duzce University Medical School. All rights reserved
A Poisson-Regression, Support Vector Machine and Grey Prediction Based Combined Forecasting Model Proposal : A Case Study in Distribution Business
Demand forecasting is a complicated task due to incomplete data and unpredictability. Accurate demand forecasting has a direct impact on the performance of a company. The goal of the study is to present a new two-stage combination model named Hybrid-2-Best, for accurate demand forecasting. The model combines three forecasting models in a single combined forecast. The Hybrid-2-Best model uses a two-stage algorithm to achieve better-performing forecasts. Case study showed that the proposed Hybrid-2-Best model performs the best forecast performance among other combination techniques and individual methods. Furthermore, GP integration in the first and second stages gives flexibility. Experimental results indicate that the proposed Hybrid-2-Best model is a promising alternative for sales demand forecasting. MAPE of the proposed model is 0,13. CVD Yöntemi ile Karbon Katkılanmış Bor Kullanılarak Üretilen MgB2 Süperiletkeninin Yapısal ve Manyetiksel Özelliklerine Sıcaklık Etkisinin İncelenmesi
Carbon, which is known to play a improvement role on the superconductivity properties of MgB2, was doped into MgB2 by CVD (chemical vapor deposition) method, and the change of structural and magnetic properties observed in MgB2 in relation to the change of reaction temperature was investigated. In this context, in the sample preparation step, amorphous nano boron powders with carbon added by chemical vapor deposition method were mixed with magnesium powders at certain mass ratios and sintered at four different temperatures (700-800- 900-1000 0C) with the classical solid state reaction method and converted into carbon-added MgB2 samples. SEM photographs of amorphous nano-boron powders with carbon added were taken and subjected to elemental analysis. The structural and magnetic properties of the samples obtained were examined. X-ray diffraction graph, magnetization values and Magnetic Field-Magnetic Moment (M-H) graphs of the samples obtained by XRD method and the critical current density values with Bean Method were found and Magnetic Field-Critical Current Density (Jc-H) graph was created. It was determined that, in all the samples obtained, the MgB2 superconductor structure was formed and the carbon structures included in the structure caused changes in the lattice parameters due to the ion radius difference, that fracture occurred in the magnetization curve of the sample prepared by sintered at 1000 0C due to the intense impurities caused by the phase transitions due to the high temperature, in samples prepared at low temperatures, and that magnetization curves that could not expand sufficiently were observed, flux jumping occurs in the magnetization curve and this also affected the critical current density. In addition, the change in the critical current density value from 7.0x103 A/cm2 to 2.8x104 A/cm2 showed that the reaction temperature was an effective parameter on the experimental results. As a result of the examinations, when compared between the 4 different sintering temperature values used, it was found that the sintering temperature of 900 0C was the temperature at which the best physical results were obtained in MgB2
Study of the Decay D-s(+) -> pi(+) pi(+) pi(-)eta and Observation of the W-annihilation Decay D-s(+) -> a(0)(980)(+)rho(0)
The decay D-s(+) -> pi(+) pi(+) pi(-)eta is observed for the first time, using e(+)e(-) collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb(-1), collected by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. The absolute branching fraction for this decay is measured to be B(D-s(+) -> pi(+) pi(+) pi(-)eta) = (3.12 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.09(syst))% The first amplitude analysis of this decay reveals the substructures in D-s(+) -> pi(+) pi(+) pi(-)eta and determines the relative fractions and the phases among these substructures. The dominant intermediate process is D-s(+) -> a(1)(1260)(+)eta, a(1)(1260)(+) -> rho(770)(0)pi(+) with a branching fraction of (1.73 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.08(syst))%. We also observe the W-annihilation process D-s(+) -> a(0)(980)(+) rho(770)(0), a(0)(980)(+) -> pi(+)eta. with a branching fraction of (0.21 +/- 0.08(stat) +/- 0.05(syst))%, which is larger than the branching fractions of other measured pure W-annihilation decays by 1 order of magnitude
Uzaktan Eğitim Sürecinde Öğretmenlerin Yaşadığı Sorunlar
Öğretmenlerin pandemi döneminde uygulanan uzaktan eğitim sürecinde yaşadıkları sorunların çözülebilmesi için öncelikle bu sorunların belirlenmesine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin pandemi döneminde uygulanan uzaktan eğitim sürecinde yaşadıkları sorunları belirlemektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yapılan bu araştırmada durum çalışması modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Ankara’nın Altındağ ilçesindeki ortaöğretim kurumlarında (Lise) görevli 20öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın amaçlarına uygun olarak 4 açık uçlu soru hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada bazı öğretmenlerin bilgisayarının olmadığı, evde eş ya da çocuklarla dönüşümlü kullandıkları ve bilgisayarla ilgili teknik sorun yaşadıkları sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğunun evde bağımsız çalışma odasının olmadığı, eş yada çocukların da uzaktan eğitim/iş amaçlı çalışması halinde gürültü yaşandığı, bazı öğretmenlerin çalışma masasının olmadığı saptanmıştır. Ayrıca uzaktan eğitim sürecinde öğrencilerin çoğunluğunun derse katılmadığı ve ödev takibinde sorunlar yaşandığı, derslerin içeriğinin uzaktan eğitime uygun olmadığı, özellikle uygulamalı dersler için uygun mekân ve materyalin bulunmadığı ve derslerin işlenmesinde zorluk yaşandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır
SARS-CoV-2 Enfeksiyonu ve Bağırsak-Akciğer Aksı
Koronavirüs hastalığı-2019 (COVID-19), 2019 yılının Aralık ayı sonunda Çin'in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkan ve şiddetli akut solunum sıkıntısı sendromu koronavirüs 2’nin (SARS-CoV-2) neden olduğu bulaşıcı bir hastalıktır. COVID-19'un solunum sıkıntısının yanı sıra ülseratif kolit ile birlikte gastrointestinal enfeksiyon ve diyare gibi diğer organları etkileyen bazı klasik olmayan semptomlarla ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Gastrointestinal enfeksiyon semptomları olan hastalar hastalığı çok daha şiddetli geçirmektedir ve bunun sebebinin Lactobacillus ve Bifidobacterium sayısındaki azalma ile birlikte ortaya çıkan mikrobiyal disbiyoz ile ilişkili olabileceği düşünülmektedir. SARS-CoV-2 virüsünün konak organizmaya girişi, anjiyotensin dönüştürücü enzim 2 (ACE-2) hücre reseptörü aracılığı ile gerçekleşmektedir ve ACE-2 reseptörleri gastrointestinal kanalda da eksprese edilmektedir. SARS-CoV-2 virüsü COVID-19 hastalarının özefagus, mide, duodenum, rektum ve dışkı örneklerinde tespit edilmiş, bağırsak epitel hücrelerinde viral replikasyonun yüksek olduğu gösterilmiştir. Gastarointestinal sistemin sadece SARS-CoV-2’nin vücuda giriş yolu olmadığı aynı zamanda viral aktivite ve replikasyon yeri olabileceği de düşünülmektedir. Bağırsak-akciğer aksı olarak bilinen, solunum mukozası ile bağırsak mikrobiyotası arasındaki çift yönlü etkileşimlerin, SARS-CoV-2'ye karşı sağlıklı veya patolojik bağışıklık tepkilerinde yer aldığı varsayılmaktadır. Bağırsak mikrobiyotasının modülasyonuna ve eubiosis koşullarının yeniden oluşturulmasına dayalı ek tedavilerin, COVID-19'un zararlı sonuçlarını sınırlamak için önemli bir terapötik yaklaşım olabileceği varsayılmaktadır. Bu derleme çalışmasında bağırsak akciğer ekseni ve SARS-CoV-2 virüsü enfeksiyonunda bu eksende değişen mikrobiyota ile ilgili çalışmaların sonuçları araştırılmıştır
How Does the Social Support Affect Refugees' Life Satisfaction in Turkey? Stress as a Mediator, Social Aids and Coronavirus Anxiety as Moderators
The number of refugees has increased exponentially due to international crises, wars, and political pressures in recent years worldwide. Turkey hosts the largest refugee population in the world with 3,672,646 Syrian refugees. This study aimed to examine the relationship among refugees’ stress, life satisfaction, social support, coronavirus anxiety, and social aids they get during the COVID-19 process. We hypothesized that stress, social aids, and coronavirus anxiety could play a role in the relationship between life satisfaction, stress, and social support. A cross-sectional survey was used to collect data from 628 Syrian refugees via an online questionnaire in Turkey. Confirmatory factor, correlation, and multiple regression analyses were conducted. In addition, the moderator and mediator role of variables tested using the 95% bias-corrected confidence interval from 5000 resamples was generated by the bias-corrected bootstrapping method. The study results show that stress partially mediated the relationship between family support and life satisfaction and between friend support and life satisfaction. In addition, coronavirus anxiety had a moderating effect on the relationship between family support and stress and friend support and stress. Finally, social aids moderated the relationship between stress and life satisfaction. In conclusion, the role of social aids, stress, and coronavirus anxiety in the relationship between social support, stress, and life satisfaction has been revealed. © 2021 by the authors. Cross section measurement of e(+)e(-) -> pi(+) pi(-) psi (3686) from root s=4.0076 GeV to 4.6984 GeV
The first amplitude analysis of the decay Ds+→K-K+π+π0 is presented using the data samples, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb-1, collected with the BESIII detector at e+e- center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV. More than 3000 events selected with a purity of 97.5% are used to perform the amplitude analysis, and nine components are found necessary to describe the data. Relative fractions and phases of the intermediate decays are determined. With the detection efficiency estimated by the results of the amplitude analysis, the branching fraction of Ds+→K-K+π+π0 decay is measured to be (5.42±0.10stat±0.17syst)%. © 2021 authors
