    日本語版 Emotion Regulation Checklist の作成

    No full text
Emotion regulation is one of the most important factors in child development. However, it is a complex construct, few validated instruments are available to assess children. The mail purpose of this study was to test the factor structure of the Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC) in a sample of Japanese children. A total of 197 mothers (46% girls) completed the ERC. Although this scale has been validated in divers cultural contexts, no study has analyzed its psychometric properties in a Japanese sample. Using structural equation modeling to examine the internal structure, we found that the original two-dimensional model fit the data from preschool children well. The reliability of the ERC subscales was 0.75 for ER and 0.84 for L/N. Additionally, we investigated the relationship between the ERC and children’s problem behavior. L/N was positively and significantly correlated with problem behaviors. These findings provide some support for the use of the Japanese parent version of the ERC with young children

Influence of rotary axis angular positioning error motions on robotic probing

    No full text
The accuracy of touch-trigger probing by a six-axis robotic manipulator is determined by the accuracy of the robot forward kinematic model to estimate the stylus sphere position from angular positions of rotary axes. Many conventional studies have employed the Denavit–Hartenberg (DH) model, containing position and orientation errors of the rotary axis average lines as error sources. This paper proposes the application of a new kinematic model, containing the angular positioning deviations of all the rotary axes, to the robotic probing. The probing accuracy is experimentally investigated in profile probing of a straightedge over the robot's workspace

Free vibration analysis of thin-walled folded structures employing Galerkin-based RKPM and stabilized nodal integration methods

    No full text
A Galerkin-based meshfree flat shell formulation is chosen to study natural frequency and eigenmode of thin-walled folded structures. Reproducing kernel is used as the interpolation function. Stabilized conforming nodal integration is employed for numerical integration of the weak form. Additionally, sub-domain stabilized conforming integration is adopted for the folded region to integrate the stiffness matrix accurately. The first order shear deformation theory is utilized considering in-plane deformation, out-of-plane deformation and drilling components. The singular kernel function is introduced to effectively handle the folded geometry. An advanced free vibration simulation can be achieved. Accuracy and effectiveness of the meshfree modeling are demonstrated through the numerical examples

    日本学術会議「教育学参照基準」に基づく教育史教育の役割と課題

    No full text
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the role and challenges of teaching history of education in university by analyzing the“ Reference Standards for Curriculum Development for Quality Assurance in University Education by Discipline: Reference Standards for the Field of Education” set forth by the Science Council of Japan (SCJ). How should teachers of history of education respond to the call from the SCJ to“ educate students to what? The education posed by the reference standards is different from the education that has been variously criticized in the past. The education that is now called for is one that positions teacher education as an essential element, relativizes modern school education, and proposes measures for its improvement and alternatives. The reference standards clearly state the role of teaching history of education. This paper has organized them into seven competencies to be acquired through learning history of education. The characteristics and basic competencies of the education that correspond to each of the seven competencies are also listed. In addition, although not explicitly stated as a role of teaching history of education in the reference standards, there are some competencies that can be learned through learning history of education as well. This paper has organized them into five competencies that can be acquired through learning history of education

Exploring International Students from ASEAN Countries in International Double Degree Programs at Japanese Universities: Motivation, experience and challenges

    No full text
This study investigates international double degree programs at Japanese universities, focusing on the experiences of students from developing countries. Through qualitative research involving semi-structured interviews with seven master's-level students from Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, the study explores their motivations, expectations, learning experiences, and cultural challenges. Key motivations for choosing these programs include gaining international experience, enhancing career prospects, experiencing Japanese culture, accessing advanced research facilities, and receiving financial support. Students expect high-quality education and an internationalized campus environment. However, the research reveals a gap between expectations and reality, with many students feeling somewhat isolated from the main Japanese campus community. The study highlights differences in teaching methods between students' home countries and Japan, requiring adaptation to new learning strategies. Language barriers emerge as a significant obstacle to deeper integration and participation in campus life. Cultural adaptation, particularly to Japanese societal norms and communication styles, presents challenges but also opportunities for personal growth. Practical difficulties, such as navigating the Japanese banking system and handling administrative tasks, underscore the need for more robust support policies. Despite these challenges, students find their cultural immersion in Japan to be highly positive and transformative, fostering greater cultural awareness and adaptability. The study concludes with recommendations for Japanese universities to improve international double degree programs, including enhancing language support, promoting cultural integration, improving administrative assistance, and fostering inclusive campus environments. Future research should expand to include perspectives from Japanese students and those from developed countries, as well as investigate long-term impacts on students' careers and personal development. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the experiences of international students in Japanese double degree programs, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive support systems and inclusive practices in enhancing student experiences and promoting the internationalization of higher education

Teacher Education Curriculum Reform in Cambodia: Perspectives, Practices, and Challenges

    No full text
Over the past four decades, the Global Education Reform Movement has emphasized the evaluation and improvement of teacher education programs. Worldwide, concerns about unqualified teachers have prompted Cambodia to initiate teacher reforms. This qualitative case study examines educators’ perspectives, practices, and challenges in teacher education curriculum reform, distinguishing between “teacher training” and “teacher education” within Cambodian teacher education colleges. The findings indicate that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport decided to provide the teacher education system more flexibility and autonomy as a higher education institution in governance and management, curriculum structure, teacher educators’ qualifications, professional status and responsibility, and functional allowance. Additionally, in the context of institutional change, educators conceptualized a clear distinction: “education” refers to learning activities that contribute to human development, whereas “training” focuses on practical teaching skills in the classroom. The study revealed that implementing reforms brought about opportunities and challenges, as demonstrated by varying evidence of autonomous leadership and management, curriculum development, interpretation, implementation, assessment, and improvement of curricula and syllabi. However, teacher educators’ mindsets, knowledge, and skills in the pedagogy of the field and fear new practices remain challenges, and the top-down approach still has influence. This study provides insight into the observations that middle leaders are linchpins of curriculum reform and teacher educators, as curriculum implementers, require a mindset change

Gender dynamics of the impact of cash transfer on female educational expenditure of informal settlements in Bangladesh

    No full text
Gender-biased educational investment remains a critical issue for vulnerable households. Despite increased female enrolment in the past decade, motivation to invest on female education remains low. Resource scarcity and low woman empowerment are two major reasons of low educational expenditure on female children of a vulnerable household. As the most vulnerable households in a society, informal settlers (slum households) are supposed to spend less on female children. However, whether there is any gender bias in informally settled households’ spending on education remains a question. Further, Cash Transfer (CT) programs provide resources to vulnerable households for investing on human capital elements like education. This study aims to examine three research questions: whether a informally settled household’s spending on education is gender biased, whether the households in which women receive CT spend more for female education than those in which women do not receive CT, and finally whether the impact of female receipt of CT differs from that of male receipt of CT in terms of female education expenditure. As the assignment of female access to CT is not randomized, the simple comparison between the treated and untreated suffers from selection bias. We employ propensity score matching (PSM) as an identification strategy to address selection bias. Inverse probability weighted regression adjustment (IPWRA) has been applied as a robustness check. The study's policy implications highlight the significance for policymakers in the domains of women's education, empowerment, and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. An earlier version of this paper was presented at the NERPS Conference 2023 in Thailand, themed “Bridging Peace and Sustainability amidst Global Transformations.

Synthesis and characterization of alginate-polyacrylic acid/multiwalled carbon nanotubes composite with efficient removal for nigrosine dye

    No full text
The current study detailed the efficacy of a simply prepared alginate-polyacrylic acid/functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (Alg-PAA/f-MWCNTs) composite for adsorption of nigrosine dye (acid black II) from aqueous environments. Firstly, preparation of the Alg-PAA/f-MWCNTs composite was achieved via gamma radiation-induced template polymerization of AA onto the Alg/f-MWCNTs surface. The maximum grafting efficiency (GE%) of AA onto the surface of Alg/f-MWCNTs was ~ 82% under the optimized conditions: (2.5 wt% Alg, 30 wt% AA, 0.5 wt% f-MWCNTs, 0.6 wt% N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide (NMBA), and irradiation dose ~ 20 kGy). The structural characteristics, thermal features as well as the morphological appearance of the Alg-PAA/f-MWCNTs composite were validated using different analyses including FTIR, TGA, DTA, XRD and SEM. Additionally, the composite exhibited uniform particle size distribution (~150.7 nm), point of zero charge at pH = 6.28, and negative Zeta potentials of a minimum at pH = 2. The adsorption batch experiments showed good adsorption capacity for the nigrosine dye from their aqueous media with adsorption efficiency up to 83% using the batch technique at pH = 2.0 for 420 min. The adsorption of nigrosine dye onto Alg-PAA/f-MWCNTs is favorable thermodynamically, obeying the Freundlich isotherm model and controlled by a chemisorption mechanism. Additionally, the composite showed a good regeneration ability up to five times with almost the same removal of ~80%. The results demonstrated that the Alg-PAA/f-MWCNTs composite could be a promising candidate for the removal of nigrosine dye from industrial aqueous environments
