〔論文審査の要旨〕 
本学位論文では，典型的な三次元トポロジカル絶縁体である Bi2Te3について，10 ミクロ
ン程度に微小集光した紫外線レーザーを用いた高分解能角度分解光電子分光（ARPES）によ
り，バンド構造の温度依存性を詳細に解明し，電子−格子相互作用の始状態電子エネルギー
依存性について初めて定量的に評価している。 
本学位論文の構成は，以下の通りである。まず第１章ではトポロジカル絶縁体の発見に
いたるまで研究の歴史や基礎的事項をまとめ，第２章では結晶成長，試料の評価，ARPES
の原理について記述している。第３章では ARPESを用いた電子−格子相互作用の自己エネル
ギーの評価に関する理論的基礎づけを展開し，Bi2Se3や Bi2Te3の電子−格子相互作用に関連
して行われた実験および理論計算をレビューしている。ARPESの先行研究では，電子−格子
相互作用の結合定数の値が 0（弱結合）から 3（強結合）まで，定性的にも大きく異なる値
が報告されており，また温度に依存してトポロジカル表面準位のエネルギーがシフトする
ことが報告されているが，その起源は明らかになっていなかった。スラブ模型を用いた第
一原理バンド計算によれば，Bi2Te3の電子−格子結合定数はたかだか 0.1程度（弱結合）で
あり，その大きさは始状態電子エネルギーに依存し，またそのエネルギー依存性と電子状
態密度とが相関することが示されている。しかし実験的にはバンド構造の温度依存性や電
子−格子相互作用の始状態電子エネルギー依存性に関する系統的な研究はなされていない
状況であった。そこで本学位論文では，これまでに明らかにされていないトポロジカル表
面準位およびバルクバンドの温度依存性の解明，電子−格子相互作用の結合定数の始状態電
子エネルギー依存性の解明を研究の目的としている。第４章では，Bi2Se3 に比較して研究
例が少ない Bi2Te3に着目し，微小集光した紫外線レーザーを励起光源とする高分解能角度
分解光電子分光による精密な実験結果とその考察を記述している。バルクの価電子帯およ
び伝導帯の温度依存性を見るために，本研究ではフェルミ準位近傍に伝導帯が存在する n
型試料を用いている。まず低温（17 K）でトポロジカル表面準位のバンド分散を精密に調
べたところ，電子−格子相互作用に由来するバンド分散の折れ曲がり構造は明瞭に観測され
なかった。このことは電子−格子相互作用の結合定数がかなり弱いことを示している。温度
を室温まで上げていくと，ディラック点およびバルクの価電子帯が高エネルギー側にシフ
トしていくことが明らかになった。一方，フェルミ準位近傍のバルクの伝導帯のエネルギ
ーシフト量は，価電子帯に比較して小さいため，昇温に伴ってバンドギャップが減少する。
またトポロジカル表面準位の群速度および価電子帯とディラック点のエネルギー差も昇温
に伴い減少する。この結果はバルクおよびトポロジカル表面準位の温度依存性はリジッド
バンドシフトではなく，バンド構造が変化することを示している。価電子帯と伝導帯のエ
ネルギー差の温度依存性と電子−格子相互作用に由来する自己エネルギーの虚部の温度依
存性は相関しており，バンド構造の温度依存性が電子−格子相互作用に由来することを示唆
している。一方，こうしたバンド構造の変調にも関わらず，ディラック点におけるエネル
ギー縮退は解けず，トポロジカルに保護されていることが明らかとなった。次にディラッ
ク点を基準に始状態電子エネルギーを指定し，ARPES スペクトルの線幅の温度依存性を精
密に計測することにより，電子−格子相互作用の結合定数を決定している。その結果は，デ
ィラック点からエネルギーが上がると結合定数の値は 0.13から減少し，100 meVのところ
で 0.02 程度の極小値をとる。そこからフェルミ準位に向けてゆるやかに上昇して 0.05 程
度になる。この振る舞いは，準粒子寿命を与える自己エネルギーの虚部と相関している。
理論研究によれば，電子−格子相互作用の行列要素のエネルギー依存性は比較的弱く，その
始状態電子エネルギー依存性は概ね散乱チャンネル数を与える状態密度に比例する。本研
究では，自己エネルギーの虚部が極小となる 100 meV で価電子帯の状態密度が極小となっ
ており，結合定数が極小となることと整合する。さらに自己エネルギーの虚部がディラッ
ク点から測って 230 meV のところで極大値をとるが，これはトポロジカル表面準位の状態
密度が極大となることと一致している。すなわちディラック点から測って 100 meV からフ
ェルミ準位までのエネルギー範囲において，散乱チャンネルは主にトポロジカル表面準位
内に制限されることを示している。これらの実験結果はスラブ模型を用いた第一原理バン
ド計算の結果と定量的にも良く一致しており，電子−格子相互作用の結合定数の始状態電子
エネルギー依存性を初めて明らかにしたものである。第５章では本研究の結論をまとめて
いる。 
電子−格子相互作用は有限温度において準粒子の寿命，準粒子の平均自由行程，バンドギ
ャップに強く影響を与える。このため本研究で得られた知見は電気伝導度，電子移動度，
熱電特性を解明するうえで重要である。さらに温度変化によるトポロジカル相転移，金属
原子をドーピングしたときに生じるネマティック超伝導の研究においても電子−格子相互
作用が果たす役割について有益な知見を与えるものと期待できる。 
申請者は試料の評価，実験，解析，論文執筆に一貫して主体的に取り組んだ。今回得ら
れた研究結果は申請者の粘り強く，緻密な実験およびデータ解析無くしては得られないも
のである。トポロジカル絶縁体の表面準位における電子−格子相互作用の結合定数の始状態
電子エネルギー依存性を初めて定量的に評価し，それが自己エネルギーの虚部あるいは散
乱チャンネル数と相関していることを実験的に解明したことは高く評価できる。本研究手
法は他の物質にも適用できる一般的な手法であることから物性物理学へのインパクトも大
きい。 
 以上，審査の結果，本論文の著者は博士（理学）の学位を授与される十分な資格がある
ものと認める。

The sympathetic nervous system (SNS), one of the two antagonistic branches of the 
autonomic nervous system, plays an essential role in unconsciously regulating the responses 
of stimuli and keeping homeostasis in the body. The SNS can be activated by stimuli such as 
emotional stress, motion, or pain, acting on the cardiovascular system, sweat glands, pupil, 
etc. Therefore, the evaluation of SNS activity (SNSA) can serve to objectively quantify such 
stimuli and provide health information, such as pain intensity and mental health, to further 
promote quality healthcare in daily life. In particular, numerous evaluation methods based 
on the response of the cardiovascular system to SNSA have been proposed and applied in 
practice. However, different types of stimuli and different structures of the cardiovascular 
system make it possible for the cardiovascular system to respond differently to the 
innervation of the SNS, which remains a challenge for the applicability of these evaluation 
methods. Therefore, it would be of interest to evaluate the sympathetic responsiveness of the 
cardiovascular system for a more applicable method of SNSA evaluation. 
The purpose of this dissertation is to outline the proposal and development of a 
quantitative method to evaluate changes in SNSA using cardiovascular biomarkers. The 
proposed method involves the hypothesis that there are regional differences in sympathetic 
responsiveness of the cardiovascular system depending on the type of stimulus. Centering on 
a piezoelectric sensor, the author constructs a system to measure and evaluate the 
sympathetic responsiveness of the cardiovascular system and attempts to extend it to 
wearables for health monitoring. The exploration and validation of the heterogeneity of 
sympathetic responsiveness also give rise to a robust method for estimating respiratory rate 
(RR). The outline of this dissertation is organized as follows. 
In Chapter 2, the author proposes a method to evaluate the sympathetic responsiveness of 
the cardiovascular system under respiratory modulation. In the proposed method, heart rate 
(HR) and pulse wave amplitude are extracted beat-by-beat from multiple pulse waves 
measured at different sites of the body using a piezoelectric sensor. Then, RR is extracted 
from periodic fluctuations in HR and pulse wave amplitude, and the consistency between RR 
extraction results from multiple sites and the reference RR is evaluated. This evaluation can 
further indicate the sympathetic responsiveness of their measurement sites under 
respiratory modulation involving SNS innervation. In addition, the validity and accuracy of 
the piezoelectric sensor in biosignal measurements are verified by comparing the extraction 
results with those of other commercially available medical devices. The measurement system 
can also be extended to wearables for health monitoring in daily life. 
In Chapter 3, the author proposes a method to evaluate regional differences in RR 
estimates under painful stimuli to further evaluate the sympathetic responsiveness of the 
cardiovascular system. Based on the consistency of the RR estimation results in Chapter 2, 
short-term painful stimuli are invoked to evoke another SNSA and further modulate the 
cardiovascular system along with respiratory modulation. In the proposed method, 
electrocardiogram, fingertip photoplethysmogram, and arterial pulse waves near the elbow 
and wrist are measured simultaneously in a multi-intensity stimulus experiment. Six 
biomarkers are extracted from the measurements and their responses to SNSA are quantified 
and evaluated by frequency domain analysis and two evaluation indices of respiratory wave 
quality. The evaluation results can indicate whether there are regional differences in their 
robustness to pain, in other words, in their sympathetic responsiveness. This can also 
translate our evaluation results into a robust system for health monitoring in daily life. In 
addition, the proposed method tends to add to an appreciation that the choice of 
measurement location can help wearables enrich their functionality. 
In Chapter 4, the author proposes a quantitative method to evaluate functional changes in 
peripheral arterial stiffness and SNSA using local pulse wave velocity (LPWV) measured 
from the artery near the wrist to the artery near the forefinger. The proposed method 
incorporates the hypothesis, already demonstrated in Chapter 3, that there is heterogeneity 
in sympathetic responsiveness of the cardiovascular system. Therefore, the sympathetic 
responsivity of the peripheral arterial segment can be further quantified by using LPWV to 
estimate functional changes in its arterial stiffness. The relationship between LPWV, 
simultaneously measured peripheral arterial stiffness index, and self-reported pain intensity 
is quantified in a multi-intensity stimulus experiment to examine the validity of the proposed 
method. The proposed method establishes LPWV as a quantitative biomarker for SNSA 
evaluation and demonstrates the optionality of using arterial pressure correction in SNSA 
evaluation depending on the application scenario. Therefore, quantitative evaluation of the 
sympathetic responsiveness of the cardiovascular system will not only grow a non-invasive 
neurosensing method using cardiovascular biomarkers but also contribute to the 
development of wearables for health monitoring. 
Finally, Chapter 5 concludes the dissertation and outlines related challenges and future 
work.

〔論文審査の要旨〕Summary of Dissertation Review 
   This research was carried out to examine pharmaceutical properties and the anti-blood cancer 
activities of bioactive compounds from rice (Oryza sativa var. Koshihikari) and an invasive weed 
(Andropogon virginicus).  
   The dissertation includes 6 Chapters. Chapter 1: General introduction; Chapter 2: Pharmaceutical 
properties of the invasive weed Andropogon virginicus; Chapter 3: Cytotoxic activities of 
momilactones against leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma cell lines; Chapter 4: Cytotoxic 
mechanisms of momilactones against acute promyelocytic leukemia and multiple myeloma cell 
lines; Chapter 5: Effects of in vitro digestion on anti-blood cancer properties of momilactones and 
Chapter 6: General discussion. 
 The invasive weed A. virginicus is shown to be promising source of antioxidants, anti-⍺-
amylase, and anti-tyrosinase abilities, and cytotoxicity against chronic myeloid leukemia cell lines. 
Momilactone A (MA) and momilactone B (MB) at 5 µM can inhibit various blood cancer cell lines 
including chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), mantle cell 
lymphoma (MCL), and multiple myeloma (MM) by inducing cell apoptosis. In addition, MB and 
MAB (mixture of MA and MB) promote APL (HL-60) cell apoptosis by inhibiting the expression 
of BCL-2 and cleaving procaspase 3 to the active form. Finally, the cytotoxicity of momilactones 
significantly decreases through the digestive stages including oral, gastric, and intestinal phases 
which is in line with the reduction of momilactone contents in digested samples. 
  From the achievements mentioned above, the applicant La Hoang Anh has published 4 papers in 
international journals as first author. After carefully examining the results from presentation, 
dissertation, achievements, and the responses on the questions raised from the examiners, the 
committee agreed that the applicant passes the exam.

アジアの発展途上国のうち最貧国に位置付けられているバングラデシュにおいてどの
ように貧困から脱却できるのか、そのための方策として国際資金移動用の金融網の整備効
果、児童労働削減のための補助金効果、健康維持のための食事援助の効果などを実証的に
検討したのが本論文の主要内容となっている。 
博士論文は 5章から構成されており、 
第一章：研究動機と意義（バングラデシュ経済のインフォーマルセクター依存をどのよ
うに克服するのか） 
第二章：銀行ネットワークが移住者の非正規送金チャネル選択に与える影響

 使用データは二章が 2016 年の Survey on Investment from Remittances、三章では
2019年の Bangladesh Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys、そして四章では 2011、15、
18年の Bangladesh Integrated Household Surveysであり、分析方法は操作変数法（二
章）、回帰不連続デザイン法（三章）、傾向スコアマッチングと差の差分析法（四章）と
いずれも手堅い実証方法となっている。

The financial market plays a pivotal role in all aspects of human life. 
However, it is well known for its non-linearity and complexity. Many experts have 
applied various methods to understand how the financial market works. Getting 
such an understanding will provide critical benefits for related authorities and 
investors. It will support the related authorities in maintaining economic stability 
and the development process. On the other side, investors will have a bigger 
opportunity to get a higher return on their investments. This study aims to analyse 
how financial patterns change over time through machine learning and the 
wavelet method.  
The application of the machine learning approach in finance and economics 
fields flourished in recent decades. The ability to capture the nonlinearity and 
complexity of the financial market is one of the machine learning method’s 
attractiveness. Nevertheless, most of the existing machine learning applications 
focus on developing a better forecasting ability. Amid the huge potency of the 
machine learning approach, the application of machine learning beyond prediction 
purposes is still limited. This study proposes a machine learning approach to get 
an insightful understanding of the financial market pattern. This study constructs 
an “Error Monitoring Index” to identify the possibility of structural market pattern 
change (called the change-candidate). Then, this study applies the “Error Profile 
Analysis” to determine whether these change candidates come from temporary or 
persistent changes and the exact timing of these changes. If the changes come from 
persistent changes, we argue that structural changes occur in the change 
candidates. 
In chapter two, this study focuses on the stock market in the US and some 
other advanced countries (UK, German, and Japan). Utilizing the “Error 
Monitoring Index” and “the Error Profile Analysis”, this study identifies five 
significant change candidates in the US stock market from 2000 to 2021. These 
change candidates are persistent and coincide with some critical events such as 
the Global Financial Crisis in 2008 and the Covid-19 spread in 2020. But not all 
significant events are associated with these changes. This study also shows similar 
results for other advanced countries. These markets show some significant changes 
that are persistent and coincide with some US/Global and significant domestic 
events. 
In chapter three, this study applies the "Error Monitoring Index" to analyze 
Indonesia's financial market pattern change. This is one of the most attractive 
emerging countries compared to its peers. Different from the previous chapter, the 
analysis of Indonesia's financial market will focus on the two main markets, i.e., 
the stock and bond markets. The examination of the "Error Monitoring Index" for 
Indonesia's financial market shows some change candidates that coincide with 
some US/Global and major domestic events. Both the stock and bond markets 
share some similar changes in terms of the timings. It shows the association 
between the stock and bond market in Indonesia. Furthermore, this chapter also 
discusses the variables that significantly influence the forecasting process. It 
provides a clear picture of the differences between before and after a structural 
change occurs. This study focuses on the differences between pre-and post-Great 
Financial Crisis (GFC) in 2008. Utilizing Permuted Feature Importance (PFI), this 
study shows clear differences in variables' importance between pre-and post-GFC 
2008. 
In the third chapter, this study implements the wavelet analysis to provide 
the co-movements between foreign investment flows and the perception of credit 
risk (proxied by the Credit Default Swap (CDS) rate) in the Indonesian government 
bond (IGB) market. More specifically, this study utilizes the partial wavelet 
coherence (PWC) method. This method allows us to obtain the relationship 
information among two variables after excluding the effect from other variables 
(control variables). The wavelet examination results find that foreign investment 
flow and perception of sovereign credit risk co-move differently across frequencies 
and times. Strong co-movements are present in the medium run from 2010 to 2016. 
The beginning and the end of this co-movements period correspond to the second 
round of the Fed's quantitative easing program and the introduction of a new 
central bank instrument, respectively. Moreover, the analysis also exhibits that 
foreign investment flow generally leads perception of sovereign credit risk with 
their negative relationship.
