    No full text
This study aimed to analyze Fachrudin Faiz’s thoughts on stoicism and Islam as presented on the Cahaya Indonesia YouTube channel. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. Data were obtained from primary sources in the form of a video uploaded by the Cahaya Indonesia YouTube channel, featuring content on the meeting point between stoicism and Islam. Secondary data consisted of books, scholarly writings, and several previous studies relevant to the research object. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques, followed by analysis and conclusion drawing. The results of this study revealed two meeting points between stoicism and Islam. First, the concept of harmony and alignment in stoic thought aligned with what is referred to as sunnatullah in the Islamic perspective. This was interpreted as a pattern for living life and the ability to exercise self-control over one’s desires. Second, the concept of virtue is in stoicism, and amal shaleh (righteous deeds) is in Islam. Amal shaleh, which is grounded in knowledge, will lead to virtue. Virtue, in turn, will bring about a peaceful and contented soul, as described by the concept of nafs al-muthmainnah in Islam

Thus, zakat can contribute significantly to the region’s inclusive economic development and poverty alleviation

Collaborative Governance in Fostering Functional Positions of Policy Analysts in Indonesia

    No full text
The policy analyst is a functional position within government institutions established by the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) to improve the quality of public policy. As the agency responsible for fostering this role, NIPA encounters significant complexities and challenges prompting the need for collaboration with various parties. In this context, collaborative governance emerges as the most appropriate governance model. This study explores how NIPA implements collaborative governance in the development and support of policy analysts. Using a qualitative research approach, the study combines interviews with policymakers and a literature review. The findings reveal that NIPA’s collaboration efforts are driven by multiple enabling factors. Furthermore, the three main components of collaborative governance–principled engagement, shared motivation, and capacity for joint action–have also been reflected in the collaboration process. The study concludes that NIPA’s approach to fostering policy analysts effectively aligns with the collaborative governance framework. Practically, this research demonstrates how collaborative governance can be applied to the development of functional positions within government. It contributes to the broader discourse on collaborative governance by highlighting its application in an underexplored area: the fostering of government functional roles

    No full text
Village independence status and the achievement of SDGs are related to community empowerment in Bojongcae Village and East Kaduagung Village, Lebak Regency. These villages have different statuses of village independence. Bojongcae Village is classified as an underdeveloped village, while East Kaduagung Village is categorized as developed village. Collaborative governance is crucial for building community development through empowerment. With collaborative governance, the government can work together with the community to address and provide solutions through various actors from both government and non-government sectors, ensuring that the benefits of such commitments are experienced by all parties involved. This study aims to analyze community empowerment in Bojongcae Village and East Kaduagung Village based on the five collaborative indicators of Ansell & Gash. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The results indicate that community empowerment in Bojongcae Village and East Kaduagung Village is carried out solely with the involvement of the government and the community. Furthermore, based on the collaborative indicators of Ansell & Gash, it is apparent that all indicators are not yet optimal for achieving collaborative governance in these villages due to the lack of specific empowerment programs from the village government for the community caused by budget constraints, gaps in understanding, and limited collaboration only between the government and the community. Therefore, there is a need for the expansion of collaboration in community empowerment efforts

    No full text
Based on data from the Higher Education Database (PDDikti), in 2023, the number of higher education institutions in Indonesia reached 4523, marking a 1.465% increase from the previous year, which had 3,107 institutions. With the rising number of higher education institutions in Indonesia, competition for student recruitment is becoming more intense. NIPA School of Administration Jakarta continuously works to enhance its appeal and visibility by optimizing its promotional strategies. The number of applicants increased by 28.82% from 2020 to 2021 but significantly decreased by 27.25% in 2021-2022 and by 14.48% in 2022-2023, despite the promotional and marketing budget increasing each year. This could be due to a gap between the marketing platforms used and the preferences and behaviors of the target market. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the promotional strategies and the consumer behavior shaped by NIPA School of Administration Jakarta’s promotional content. The research method used is mixed-method, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data analysis used an explanatory sequential design. The quantitative research population consists of new students from the 2024 cohort, selected using random sampling techniques. Based on the research findings, promotional efforts must be more varied, such as developing more tailored campaigns for different study programs, leveraging students as part of the promotional team, and enhancing the effectiveness of word-of-mouth marketing

    No full text
Bureaucratic reform is needed not only at the national level but also at the village level. Since 2014, Indonesia’s development focus has been directed towards villages, yet the performance of village-level bureaucracy is still considered weakMany villages have not been able to optimize their local potential due to a lack of collaboration and integration of communal values, such as gotong royong (mutual cooperation), within the village bureaucratic system. This study aims to formulate a model for measuring village-level bureaucratic reform based on gotong royong in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Lebak Regency, Banten. The research emphasizes the importance of community participation in village bureaucratic collaboration, particularly in the Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, which faces challenges in human resource empowerment and technological limitations. Despite having tourism potential, the villages in this area have not fully benefited from bureaucratic reform and village autonomy. In Lebak Regency, as of 2023, there were 78 underdeveloped villages where efforts toward bureaucratic reform was hindered by limited capacity of village officials and the low utilization of information technology. Moreover, some villages struggle with effectively managing village funds. This study employs a qualitative approach, enabling an in-depth exploration and development of a village-level bureaucratic reform model, particularly in villages classified as underdeveloped according to the Village Development Index. The findings suggest the implementation of a more collaborative bureaucratic reform, grounded in local wisdom, such as gotong royong in NTT and Lebak, to enhance village development effectiveness. Community empowerment and the integration of local wisdom into village governance are key factors in overcoming these challenges, aiming to improve village bureaucratic performance and maximize local potential
