    No full text
This study aims to explore and synthesize the role of mental health literacy (MHL) in the development of policies that support the mental health of children with special needs. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was used by following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review guidelines and filter by year. Literature searches were conducted on integrated databases, including Elsevier Scholar, Science Direct, Sci-hub, Publish or Perish, Crossref and ResearchGate, for articles published between 2019 and 2024. The search keywords used were “mental health literacy” and “inclusive policy development”. From the search results, a total of ten articles were selected based on the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings suggest that improving mental health literacy among educators, policymakers, and parents can significantly support the development of more inclusive and effective policies. Future research needs to extend this analysis by considering cultural and demographic context variations in MHL implementation

    No full text
Happiness is an overall condition of one’s life that is pleasing. It also refers to two conditions: positive emotion and well-being. Special needs assistants’ jobs include assisting the children in their learning process and helping them develop their skills and adapt to the environment. Special needs assistants’ happiness is important for critical tasks. Religiosity is one of the many factors that can strengthen the motivation to do prosocial behavior and increase happiness. The study objective is to test religiosity’s role as a moderation variable. The sample included 100 special needs assistants in Malang were chosen using an accidental sampling technique. We used a quantitative method, and the Prosocialness for Adult Scale (PSA), The PERMA Profiler, and the 4 Basic Dimensions of Religiosity Scale (4 BDRS) were used for measurement. We analyzed the data using Moderated Analysis Regression (MRA). This study shows that religiosity can be a moderation variable and strengthen the relation between prosocial behavior and the happiness of special needs assistants

    No full text
Self-awareness about toddler growth and development is crucial. One such important developmental task is toilet training, as toddlers should start learning to be independent in terms of regulating their elimination. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of toilet training in improving the knowledge of mothers of toddlers, toddler cadres, and PAUD teachers. This study uses an experimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The subjects in this study were 32 people who met the subject criteria: mothers who have toddlers, toddler Posyandu cadres, and pre-kindergarten teachers who have the most interaction with toddlers. The result show an increase in the knowledge of PAUD cadres/teachers and mothers with toddlers related to toilet training, which was carried out with a significance of 0.00 (p <0.01). This result can be used as a consideration to provide training to individuals or related communities so that the phenomenon related to toilet training can be carried out sustainably

    No full text
The development of social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram has become a means to show and prove one’s existence to the public, so many teenagers use it to excessively post, causing narcissistic behavior. Such narcissistic behavior can be influenced by loneliness and a lack of self-control, as teenager use social media to entertain themselves and make friends. The study uses a quantitative method, using snowball sampling to study 150 adolescents (18-25 years old) who have been actively using Twitter and Instagram for at least one year. The measurements used are the UCLA Loneliness Scale Ver. 3, BSCS, and NPI-16 adaptation scales. Data were analyzed using the Linear Regression Test. The results showed the effect of loneliness on narcissism (p < 0.05) and the influence of self-control on narcissism (p < 0.05). This study proves the influence of loneliness and self-control on narcissism to be significant. Self-control has a greater influence on narcissism than loneliness

Interlinkage between inflammation, oxidative stress, and endoplasmic reticulum stress in bisphenols-induced testicular steroidogenesis disturbance: A mini review

    No full text
Bisphenols (BP) are endocrine-disrupting chemicals that cause adverse health effects, including testicular steroidogenesis disturbance. Cyclo-oxygenase-2 and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 are the target molecules involved in testicular steroidogenesis disturbance via inflammation and oxidative stress (OS), respectively. Interestingly, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress was found to be involved in various pathological conditions. However, the mechanisms involved in BP-induced testicular steroidogenesis disturbance remain unclear. Therefore, this research investigates the key mechanisms underlying BP-induced testicular steroidogenesis disturbances. We focus on 3 critical pathways: inflammation, OS, and ER stress. Our findings demonstrate that BP exposure triggers inflammatory responses by targeting the cyclo-oxygenase-2 molecules that impair Leydig cell function. Concurrently, we observed that BP-increased OS via inhibition of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2, further disrupting steroidogenic enzyme activity. Additionally, ER stress is activated in response to BP exposure, leading to impaired protein synthesis and exacerbating steroidogenic dysfunction. This review elucidates the interlinkage between inflammation, OS, and ER stress in BP-induced testicular steroidogenesis disturbance in which reactive oxygen species is proposed to be the main culprit in linking these 3 mechanisms. These insights provide a crucial foundation for understanding the reproductive toxicology of BPs and inform future strategies for mitigating their effects on male reproductive health

The role of diet and food supplements in infertility management in the Eastern Mediterranean Region: A narrative review

    No full text
According to the World Health Organization, 17.5% of the population suffers from infertility. This demonstrates the critical need to expand access to high-quality reproductive care and increase our understanding of the factors that contribute to this issue. This review aims to summarize findings and gaps in the literature regarding diet-related factors and infertility among the Eastern Mediterranean couples poorly studied compared to other populations. The literature search was conducted using PubMed and Scopus databases from January 2012-July 2023. In total, 112 papers described the influence of diet and supplementation on natural and artificial reproductive outcomes in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and were found eligible for the review synthesis. For men, a diet rich in red meat, fatty foods, whole grains, and low in fish, poultry, low-fat dairy products, and vegetables have a positive effect on sperm count. For women, maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for their fertility. Overall, various vitamins and supplements significantly enhance gametes quality, hormonal balance, and antioxidant capacity, despite the results not being consistent across all studies. The findings highlight distinct dietary patterns that mitigate or exacerbate infertility risks, considering macro and micronutrients. Studies unevenly describe potential risk factors, underscoring the need for further exploration across diverse populations

The Determination of the Beginning of SHAWWAL 1445H by the Jamaah Aolia of Gunung Kidul: An Astronomical Perspective

    No full text
The determination of the beginning of the Kamariah (lunar) months in Indonesia remains a subject of debate among different groups with each religious organization having its own methods and criteria which they consider to be the most accurate. One such group that frequently diverges from the government’s decisions is the Jamaah Aolia in Gunung Kidul. For instance, in determining the beginning of Shawwal 1445 H, the Jamaah Aolia’s decision differed by five days from the government’s announcement. Led by Mbah Benu, this group has garnered attention for claiming direct communication from Allah. Upon closer examination, Mbah Benu’s decision appears not to lack foundation but rather follows a spiritual path or inner connection, which in essence can be viewed as using a “rukyah bil qalbi” (spiritual sighting) approach. According to astronomical perspectives, this determination of Shawwal 1445 H does not align with the accepted criteria as the conjunction had not yet occurred and the altitude of the new moon (hilal) was still below the horizon, at approximately -37∘ 33’ 28.8”. In principle, the start of a lunar month is marked by three conditions: The conjunction occurs before sunset, the moon sets after the sun, and the altitude of the new moon is above the horizon
