Development of MSMEs Potential Based on Pineapple Raw Materials in Prabumulih City
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in supporting the economy. However, MSMEs still face several challenges, such as limitations in human resources, access to capital, technological knowledge, as well as marketing and infrastructure issues. In Prabumulih City, South Sumatra, MSMEs are developing rapidly across various sectors, including fashion, food, beverages, and handicrafts. Nevertheless, the lack of organization in MSME data in Prabumulih poses an obstacle to maximizing its potential, particularly concerning pineapples. Therefore, this research aims to elucidate and examine the development of MSME potential based on pineapple products in Prabumulih City. The methodology employed in this study is descriptive qualitative. The research findings indicate that the development of MSMEs based on local products such as pineapples should be a primary focus for the Prabumulih City government. Various innovations, such as tutilizing pineapple fibers and product diversification based on pineapples, have been implemented to enhance competitiveness in both local and national markets. However, challenges related to MSME data management and the use of marketing technology remains underutilized or insufficiently adopted. Consequently, the integration of MSME data and further support in the application of digital technology are essential to strengthen the position of MSMEs in the market

Vicious Circle on Smoking Households in Rural Areas in an Effort to Efficiently Spend on Human Resource Investment
This study aims to examine family welfare in the context of a vicious circle between investment in human resources and cigarette consumption. Parents’ decision to allocate their consumption between smoking and investment in human resources will have an effect on the next generation and if this continues, a vicious circle of smoking families will form. Human resources are projected into education and health. The data cited are sourced from IFLS in 1993 and 2014. The method of analysis, the first step, is to apply the simultaneous equation model in the context of the quadratic engle curve by using the 1997 and 2014 IFLS data, we find that cigarette consumption significantly reduces the share of education and health spending. The model also includes the head of the household’s education level. The results show that parent households in rural areas significantly increased spending on education investment when their spending on cigarettes was lower. The condition has a similar pattern with their children’s household. The conclusion is that parents behavior on cigarette spending patterns have a similar effect on the investment in their children’s human resources. So the vicious circle of household smoker continuously happened, especially those who live in rural areas

Green Building and Cost Efficiency: Life Cycle Cost Study at ITSB Campus
This study examines the implementation of the green building concept at ITSB campus using life cycle cost (LCC) analysis. The focus of the research is to determine cost efficiency in the use of energy and water, as well as to identify the proportion of costs incurred throughout the building’s operational period. The results indicate that the initial investment dominates the total project cost, accounting for 92%. Despite the high initial investment, the application of environmentally friendly technologies in the building successfully reduced operational costs, particularly energy usage, resulting in savings of Rp 678,890,260. Recent Development on Halal Tourism: Evidence From Global Muslim Travel Index
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the development of global religious tourism based on the results of the latest report from the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) in 2024. The GMTI is a strategic index designed to assess the readiness of a tourist destination to attract Muslim tourists, both from Muslim-majority and non-Muslim countries. The index reflects the destination’s commitment to providing services that align with Muslim needs and values, as well as offering a safe, comfortable, and Islamic principles travel experience. GMTI also plays a role in mapping out new opportunities in the halal tourism sector, which has great potential to continue to grow in the future. The results of the assessment from the GMTI study show that Malaysia has consistently been the main reference in global religious tourism. Recently, Indonesia has also emerged as the first ranking in the GMT qualifiers. Surprisingly, it turns out that Saudi Arabia, which is the main reference for Muslim worship, is still in third place. These results show that the potential for religious tourism in Malaysia and Indonesia is still very high
Draped in Meaning: The Evolving Symbolism of the Black Abaya in Saudi Arabia
This study explores the symbolism of the Black Abaya within contemporary Saudi society. This loose-fitting, full-length garment, prevalent as an item of women’s clothing in the Arabian Peninsula, has a long history as the standard modest dress for day-today wear among Muslim women. In recent years, academic and media attention toward the attire in the West has seen it come to serve as a symbol for Muslim womanhood sometimes associated with religious extremism, oppression, and personal agency. This interpretation has underscored the need for greater understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultural practices and traditions associated with the Abaya within Arab and Muslim societies. This study investigates how contemporary Saudi women interact with and explore the garment, especially their relationship with the traditional Black Abaya. This is pursued through undertaking ethnographic research consisting of interviews, observations, autoethnographic methods, and documentary analysis. The study notes the ambiguous and diverse interpretations of the Abaya as well as a trend toward embellishing the traditional Black Abaya form to better suit the needs of modern Saudi women for self-expression
A Contemporary Reading on Changing the Character of Men in Light of Islamic Law
Allah (glory to him) has created man in the best manner, and guided the believers among them to his straight path, so they won the good of this world and the afterlife, and one of the marvels of the miracle of our law is that He did not leave any aspect of human life without having an explanation for it, and among other things He made clear its limits and defined its restrictions, changing one’s character. By Allah, it is one of the topics that has sparked a lot of debate from a legal perspective that is currently taking place. , and the changes that occur to human creation; For various reasons and with various suspicions that call for changing one’s shape and changing one’s character, this matter has spread widely and through various means, especially electronic and technological development, which has helped spread this phenomenon among Muslims. I wanted to look into these suspicions, and collect the texts contained in that, to determine what is permissible and what is forbidden, and to provide a contemporary reading on changing the character of men, by reviewing the opinions of jurists and commentators and the contemporary fatwas issued in this regard. This research includes four demands, preceded by an introduction and ending with results and recommendations. Then, it was documented with research sources and references
Methodological Fallacies in the Modernist Reading of the Prophetic Sunnah: A Critical Study
This research aims to defend the Sunnah, which is one of the greatest legal duties in the face of campaigns of skepticism, distortion, and slander from many parties that seek to exclude the Sunnah as a methodology and system of life, including those so-called modernists who raise the slogan of renewing thought and heritage, adding the mantle of “impartial” scientific research and calling for rereading the Islamic “heritage” and applying modern methods of criticism to it. The research question lies in how the modernist reading has contributed to presenting methodological fallacies in understanding and dealing with the Sunnah. The paper is organized into three sections. The first section provides the theoretical and conceptual framework of the research. The second section examines the statements of the methodological fallacies in the modernist reading of the Sunnah, including six fallacies, namely: imitation rather than innovation, selectivity, lack of accuracy and objectivity, dropping the value of the hadith, adopting abstract reason as a criterion for criticizing hadiths, the indiscipline of the criteria of criticism, and finally the fallacy of speaking in a non-specialized field. The third section balances the modernists’ approach with that of the Hadith Scholars in Hadith criticism, followed by the conclusion and the important findings and recommendations
