Towards Sustainable Transport Integration: The Implementation of Bus Rapid Transit and Feeder Transport in Tangerang City

    No full text
This article presents a case study on policy implementation for a sustainable transportation system in Tangerang City, Indonesia. In an effort to tackle traffic congestion, reduce air pollution, and enhance public service quality, the Tangerang City Government launched a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in 2016. Today, the system has expanded to four BRT corridors, supported by feeder transport services, aiming to achieve an integrated public transportation network. Based on literature review and field research, findings indicate that the BRT and feeder operations have improved the quality of public transport services in the city. Performance analysis highlights improvements in three main areas: 1) velocity, 2) roundtrip time, and 3) headway. However, frequency and load factor remain areas needing further development. Challenges to full integration include underutilized infrastructure, such as shelters and bus stop, a non-integrated ticketing system, and a limited number of BRT and feeder buses. Moving forward, key sustainability issues involve the need for enhanced human resource capacity, increased budget allocation, and improved service performance to support long-term transport integration

Existing literature reveals that a lack of studies that comprehensively examine how this problem is addressed by local authorities. This qualitative research aims to describe the Makassar City government’s approach to managing vagrants and beggars by involving all relevant agencies. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, literature reviews, and direct observation, and analyzed using Edward III’s policy implementation theory. The findings indicate that current efforts remain short-term and lack a comprehensive strategy. The city’s policies focus on three main approaches: preventive guidance, educational guidance, and social rehabilitation. However, these efforts require stronger collaboration and synergy among stakeholders. The study recommends enhancing coordination among agencies and implementing more sustainable measures. Additionally, while it is important to maintain a humane approach, imposing social sanction or deterrents may be necessary to uphold public order

    No full text
As a public servant, ASN (Aparatur Sipil Negara/State Civil Apparatus) is required to have good attitudes and morals to serve the community, therefore, character building training is needed. One of the training techniques is Experiential Learning (EL). This approach is considered to be the most relevant to the process of implementing training in the context of shaping the ASN’s character because it emphasizes learning through doing the material being taught and can address non-technical learning objectives like enhancing trainees’ soft skills (social skills). This journal compares how the experiential learning approach is used in two government agencies; the Ministry of Transportation and the National Research and Innovation Agency. This comparison is based on aspects of Experiential Learning according to Kurt Lewin (1946) and Core Values of ASN BerAKHLAK. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through literature studies based on journals, books, and studies of laws and regulations and other data. The result of the research is that the Ministry of Transportation and BRIN have been able to implement the EL concept in character building training but in different ways. Kemenhub focuses on the concept of outdoor training by increasing activities in the form of games, the training material provided is broader in scope and informal in nature. Meanwhile, BRIN focuses on the method of interviewing the community regarding the understanding of nationalism values and then making a video of the interview results considering the learning material of the training is related to nationalism and is also formal

Given the nature of the Labuan Bajo tourist destination, this was because there was still a “wait and see” attitude towards what they expected the government to be able to give them after they handed over the assets. On the other hand, the problem of infrastructure has not been a priority for access to tourist destinations
