Fear of Missing Out and Problematic Social Media Use: A Literature Review
The development of digital technology and social media has had a significant impact on human behavior, including the emergence of the phenomena of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and Problematic Social Media Use (PSMU). This literature review aims to analyze the relationship between FOMO and PSMU and the factors that influence them. The results show that FOMO, the anxiety of missing out on information or experiences, is a strong predictor of PSMU, which is characterized by excessive, compulsive and disruptive use of social media in daily life. FOMO not only increases the intensity of social media use but is also associated with psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, decreased self-esteem and sleep disturbances. Internal factors such as neuroticism, boredom, and unmet psychological needs, as well as external factors such as peer influence and online culture, reinforce this relationship. Some studies have also identified the mediating role of state-FOMO and trait-FOMO in exacerbating PSMU tendencies. On the other hand, interventions such as physical activity, digital literacy and mindfulness practices can help reduce the negative impact of FOMO and PSMU. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach in understanding and treating PSMU, taking into account psychological, social, and cultural aspects
Efforts to Break the Chain of Verbal Bullying in Elementary Schools Through Sociodrama Techniques: A Literature Review
Data from Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) research in 2018 revealed that Indonesia ranks fifth highest in the world, with the number of students experiencing bullying at 41.1%. This shows that bullying, especially verbal bullying, still occurs and has a big impact on each of those involved, both perpetrators and victims. So, breaking the chain of verbal bullying at the elementary school level is necessary. One way to do this is through sociodrama techniques. The research was conducted through a literature review of relevant articles. The literature search was conducted on databases such as Garuda, Springer, Sage, Scholars, and Scopus. The criteria for the articles selected in this study were articles that discuss bullying cases in schools and the way they were handled, with specific explanations related to the effectiveness of using sociodrama techniques in overcoming bullying. From the search results, eight journal articles were obtained that met the criteria, with a publication range from 2018 to 2024. Based on the literature review, the research results showed that the sociodrama technique is relevant to be applied in education to overcome the problem of verbal bullying because it can develop language skills, creativity, and imagination, through a fun and interesting method that easily attracts students’ attention. This is very suitable for the development of concrete operational children who are developing the ability to interact with their environment
Adaptation of the Spousal Social Support Scale for Married Early Adult Women
This study aims to adapt the scale of spousal social support constructed by Dorio for use by married early adult women. This study involved 150 women aged 18-25 years as respondents. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to determine evidence of validity based on its internal structure using the Jeffreys’s Amazing Statistic Program (JASP) 0.19.0.30 application. The reliability of the spousal social support scale using construct reliability (CR) as part of the CFA analysis. The results showed a fit model with CFI=0.920; TLI=0.911; PNFI=0.735; IFI=0.921; RMSEA=0.666; SRMR=0.053 consisting of 20 items. This adapted spousal support scale can be used as a valid measuring instrument based on its internal structure and is reliable for future research on married early adult women. However, further improvements and adjustments still need to be made to make it a more reliable instrument
Potential Role of Carica papaya (Papaya) in Managing Inflammation and Hypertension
Background: Carica papaya is a tropical herb used traditionally for multiple medicinal uses. Its phytochemical compounds, like flavonoids and alkaloids, are antioxidant and anti-inflammatory in nature. The existing evidence indicates its possible involvement in cardiovascular health, especially in the control of hypertension. The objective of the current commentary is to highlight the dual therapeutic significance of C. papaya in the prevention and management of inflammation and hypertension.
Methods: This narrative review summarizes preclinical and clinical research on C. papaya. A targeted literature search (2000–2024) identified seven relevant studies on C. papaya in relation to hypertension and inflammation, which were included to support this commentary. Information was gathered from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, highlighting its antihypertensive and anti-inflammatory activity. Underlying mechanisms, such as antioxidant modulation and Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition, were examined critically.
Results: Research indicates that C. papaya extracts decrease inflammatory markers and enhance vascular function. Animal models exhibit marked decreases in blood pressure and oxidative stress levels. The reported beneficial effects demonstrated that papaya may exert these effects through multiple mechanisms, such as the modulation of inflammatory pathways, augmentation of antioxidant defence, and direct vasodilation. Limited clinical trials have indicated favorable results, which justify further research.
Conclusion: C. papaya is a promising natural adjunct to inflammation and hypertension management. Its phytochemical complexity underlies its therapeutic effects through several mechanisms. Human studies are required to establish its efficacy and standardized dosing
Comparative antibacterial activity of green-synthesized silver nanoparticles and solvent fruit extracts of Acacia nilotica (L.) Willd. against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella Typhi
Background: Green-synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are utilized to treat antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. This study investigated the antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate, methanolic, and hexane extracts of Acacia nilotica fruits, as well as biosynthesized silver nanoparticles, against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi.
Methods: Acacia nilotica fruit powders were extracted using methanol, hexane, and ethyl acetate at concentrations of 25%, 50%, and 75% weight per volume. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized from the aqueous extract of fruits and silver nitrate, and the disc diffusion method was performed.
Results: Change of solution color, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the successful synthesis of silver nanoparticles (The UV–Vis spectrum showed a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at ∼445 nm). FTIR results indicated the presence of biomolecules involved in silver (Ag+) reduction, including nitro compounds, amides, carboxyl groups, alcohols, benzene, and phenols. Hexane extract with a concentration of 75% inhibited S. typhi (19.67 ± 2.081) and S. aureus (11.33 ± 2.081), whereas Hexane extract with a 25% concentration had no effect against S. aureus. Ethyl acetate extract with 75% concentration inhibited S. aureus (16.33 ± 0.577), while ethyl acetate 75% and 50% and methanol 25% and 75% had no effect on S. typhi. Methanol 75% inhibited S. typhi (13 ± 0.1). AgNPs 25% and 50% inhibited S. aureus (17 ± 1.0 and 15 ± 1.0, respectively) and exhibited low activity against S. typhi. Control showed no inhibition zones.
Conclusion: AgNPs of A. nilotica fruit inhibited S. aureus more than S. typhi; for S. typhi, standard antibiotic discs produced measurable inhibition zones. Hexane showed greater efficacy against S. typhi than AgNPs. Further investigations are needed to identify specific antimicrobial components

Reformulation of Banana Flour Synbiotic Yoghurt High in FOS for Short-chain Fatty Acid (SCFA) Production
Dyslipidemia is one of the risk factors for heart attack. Reducing fat levels in people with dyslipidemia can be done by consuming foods containing short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) in the form of acetate, propionate, and butyrate. Sources of SCFA can come from complex carbohydrates such as fructooligosaccharides (FOS) derived from unripe bananas, fermentation by probiotics. This study aims to evaluate the highest FOS content of four types of bananas and three types of wild bananas in the flesh and seeds. Banana flour with the highest FOS will be applied as a prebiotic in yogurt. The design of this study was an experiment with a completely randomized design. FOS analysis used the GC method, the preference test used the hedonic test, SCFA used the HPLC method, and sensory characteristics used the description test. The highest FOS content was obtained from Klutuk Batu seed flour (6.1031% ± 0.0398). The prebiotic concentration of Klutuk Batu banana seed flour was set at 6% based on the results of the preference test. The best SCFA content was obtained from yoghurt added with probiotic Lactobacillus acydophillus FNCC 51 (acetate 40.35%, propionate 3.09 ppm, and butyrate 0.08 ppm). The highest SCFA found in yoghurt with the addition of 6% prebiotic Klutuk Batu seed flour using probiotic L. acydophillus FNCC 51. The slightly sandy texture can be minimized by reducing the particle size from 60 mesh to 100 mesh
Nutritional and Organoleptic Evaluation of Tempeh Made from Four Types of Legumes
This study investigates the production of tempeh using four types of legumes red beans (a), pigeon peas (b), cowpeas (c) and soybeans (d), with the aim of developing tempeh with favorable chemical and organoleptic properties as a healthy, nutritious food. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used with each legume type as a treatment, conducted in three replications. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a 5% significance level (P ≤ 0.05) when significant differences were found. The results showed that cowpea tempeh (c) was the most favorable in terms of color and taste with scores comparable to soybean tempeh (d). color (cowpea tempeh=4.19c; soybean tempeh=4.44c) and taste (cowpea tempeh=4.19c; soybean tempeh=4.44c). Soybean tempeh had the highest texture rating (4.69c) indicating strong consumer preference. Amino acid analysis revealed that all four tempeh types contained 17 amino acids, with glutamic acid, leucine, and aspartic acid being the most abundant. These findings suggest that tempeh made from various legumes can serve as a nutritious food source offering potential to address nutritional deficiencies, especially for children
Empowering 8 Model in Measuring Journalistic Information Literacy
In today’s fast-paced information era, literacy skills are becoming increasingly crucial, especially for those aspiring to be involved in journalism. This drives the need for better literacy so that recipients of information can be more critical in receiving information. Mahasantri engages in journalistic activities, but the obstacles experienced by them in creating journalistic works relate to finding information and not understanding how to determine the theme and material of journalistic works. Based on these facts, a measurement of information literacy of Mahasantri in producing journalistic works is needed using the empowering 8 model. This research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a sample of 265 respondents. It aims to determine the information literacy of Mahasantri in producing journalistic works using this model. It shows that Mahasantri have an understanding of information literacy in producing journalistic works in terms of identification, exploration, selection, organization, creation, presentation, assessment, and application with an average score of 2.86
