Sustainable Post-mining Management is a Practical Solution in Ecology Restoration and Green Energy Innovation
Indonesia has a long history of mining. While this has contributed to the global mining industry, it has also led to environmental problems from illegal mining operations. These operations have negatively impacted both the local population and the surrounding environment. This research aims to explore a sustainable solution: re-mining abandoned mine sites and processing the extracted minerals (like silica) into valuable products for green energy. This approach can create economic opportunities and help restore the environment. This study reviews existing research on land restoration and silica processing. It focuses on ways to repurpose former mining areas while also extracting and refining valuable materials like silica for use in green technologies. Restoring degraded mining land requires careful planning and technical solutions. Scientists can improve soil quality and create suitable conditions for new plant growth. Silica, a common by-product of mining, has many potential applications in green energy products. This research proposes a sustainable business model to utilize silica for solar panels, batteries, and other green technologies. Re-mining abandoned mine sites and processing the minerals can be a sustainable way to manage post-mining areas. This approach can benefit both the environment and the economy by creating jobs and producing valuable materials for green energy
Utilizing the Vehicle Routing Problem Model to Determine Restaurant Outlet Waste Transport Routes
The capital’s traffic density affects the way waste is transported as well. The utilization of the vehicle routing problem (VRP) approach for determining the optimal route for the transportation of food waste from PT. ABC restaurants are covered in this study. PT. ABC owns a number of restaurants that are located on routes with traffic regulations that restrict the number of vehicles on the road. As a result, PT. ABC’s waste delivery vehicles must find new routes in order to continue moving waste. The transportation trucks return to the waste collecting place later than expected since they picked another route. It is anticipated that by streamlining the waste transportation route, the total time and distance required will be reduced. The VRP method is utilized to make the existing waste pickup route more effective and efficient. The suggested route was derived from the data processing procedure under two different scenarios: normal traffic conditions and vehicle restrictions. In the suggested route, 111 minutes would be needed to travel 36.3 km in normal conditions. In the meantime, the suggested trip took 126 minutes to complete and covered 46.8 km when vehicle restrictions were in place
Innovative Approaches to Talent Retention in the Energy Sector: An Analysis of Best Practices
This study aims to investigate novel strategies for retaining talent in the energy industry by conducting a thorough literature review and analysis of best practices. Retaining qualified staff has grown more important as the energy sector experiences considerable upheaval brought about by technological improvements and the switch to renewable energy sources. The objective of this study is to identify and assess effective talent retention techniques by conducting a systematic evaluation of peer-reviewed papers, industry reports, and policy documents published between 2015 and 2024. The technique focuses on efforts like flexible work schedules, professional development programmes, employee engagement strategies, and competitive remuneration packages. It does this by thoroughly analyzing 87 pertinent sources. The findings demonstrate the complexity of effective talent retention tactics in the energy industry, which include aspects of work-life balance, career progression possibilities, inclusive workplace cultures, and recognition initiatives. The key finding is that retaining a steady and engaged workforce requires an integrated strategy that combines several retention tactics catered to the particular requirements of workers in the energy sector. Sustainable Employee Performance and Energy Efficiency: Study on Telecommunication Access in North Jakarta
Advances in renewable technology can encourage high levels of innovation, adaptation, coordination, and collaboration to reduce energy use. This research aims to determine the influence of green transformational leadership and organizational commitment on the sustainability of employee performance as mediated by knowledge management. The respondents for this research were 168 telecommunication access implementing officers in North Jakarta. The sample was collected using saturated samples and analyzed using a quantitative approach. The analysis used is a statistical analysis in the form of SEM-PLS. The data collection method uses a survey method, with research instruments in the form of questionnaires. The findings of this research prove that green transformational leadership and organizational commitment have a significant positive effect on the sustainability of employee performance. Green transformational leadership and organizational commitment have a significant positive effect on knowledge management. Knowledge management does not affect the sustainability of employee performance. Knowledge management does not mediate the influence of organizational commitment on the sustainability of employee performance. Knowledge management does not mediate the influence of green transformational leadership on the sustainability of employee performance. Green transformational leadership generally increases the sustainability of employee performance, even though employees are in conditions of excessive workload
Enhancing Leadership Capacities for Energy Transition: A Framework for Future Challenges
The rapid evolution of the energy sector necessitates the development of robust leadership capacities to navigate the complexities of energy transition. This research aims to develop a comprehensive framework for enhancing leadership capacities to meet future challenges in the energy sector. A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing 72 peer-reviewed articles, industry reports, and policy documents published between 2015 and 2024. The review identified key themes, including the critical skills and competencies required for effective leadership, the effectiveness of existing leadership development programs, and innovative pedagogical approaches. Findings indicate a significant gap in leadership skills, particularly in areas such as strategic foresight, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adaptive management. The analysis also highlights successful models of leadership development, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning, mentorship, and cross-sector partnerships. Based on these insights, a conceptual framework is proposed, incorporating dynamic skills forecasting, continuous professional development pathways, and strong industryacademia- government collaboration. The study concludes that addressing the leadership skills gap is crucial for a successful energy transition, and recommends targeted policy interventions and innovative educational strategies to build a resilient leadership workforce capable of driving sustainable energy initiatives
Raising Awareness and Sustainable Action as Student Engagement in Energy Sustainability at Universitas Mercu Buana Dewi Nusraningrum
The increase in awareness and sustainable action as student involvement in energy sustainability at Mercu Buana University is driven by the global urgency to overcome climate change and limited energy resources, as well as the strategic role of higher education in forming a generation that is aware of the importance of sustainable energy practices. This research was conducted to explore the active engagement of students who have a role as agents of change in energy sustainability efforts within Universitas Mercu Buana (UMB). The right qualitative research method to increase awareness and sustainable action as student involvement in energy sustainability at Universitas Mercu Buana is to conduct in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGD) involving student representatives from six faculties to explore their perceptions, motivations, and barriers related to energy sustainability initiatives on campus. The results show that students from the six faculties at Universitas Mercu Buana have varying awareness of energy sustainability, with some faculties being more responsive to the initiative, while others require a more intensive and relevant approach to education. The implication is that Universitas Mercu Buana needs to design an educational strategy tailored to the needs and characteristics of each faculty to increase student involvement equally in energy sustainability
Fostering Sustainable Partnership in the Halal Sector: A Triple Helix Model for Enhanced Food Security and Graduate Employability
The global food system faces significant challenges in ensuring food security, food safety, and sustainability, which are vital for public health and economic stability. In Malaysia, the halal food supply chain is under increasing pressure to meet the rising demand for Shariah-compliant practices while also addressing sustainability concerns. However, the current system lacks an integrated framework that brings together universities, industries, and government agencies. Furthermore, there is a notable skills gap among graduates, making it difficult for them to meet industry requirements, thereby limiting their employability. Given these challenges, there is an urgent need for a model that not only enhances food security and safety but also improves the employability of graduates through sustainable and Shariah-compliant practice. This research seeks to address these issues by developing a sustainable Shariah-compliant model that enhances Malaysia’s food security and safety. The approach will be grounded in the triple helix model, which fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and government. This model aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge, industrial needs, and government policies. This research uses quantitative research, in the form of surveys among graduates and employers, will explore the existing skill gap and assess metrics related to food safety and security. The expected outcomes of this research are multifaceted. First, it aims to enhance food security by developing a comprehensive model for Shariah-compliant food production that aligns with Malaysia’s sustainability and food safety goals. Second, the employability of graduates will be significantly improved through the acquisition of industry-relevant skills, particularly in the halal sector. Third, the research will strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and government, leading to more effective knowledge transfer, policy-making, and industrial innovation. Finally, the research will promote sustainability within halal practices, encouraging the halal industry to adopt environmentally friendly methods without compromising Shariah compliance
Discovering Multicultural Semarang Through its Urban Landscape: Educational Materials for Non-degree International Program
This paper explores the development of Discovering Multicultural Semarang Through Its Urban Landscape, a program designed for non-degree international students at Soegijapranata Catholic University (SCU). The program addresses the demand for educational activities that combine academic learning with cultural learning, using the rich cultural heritage of Semarang, influenced by Javanese, Chinese, Arab, and Dutch cultures. The main objective is to develop tailor-made teaching resources that align with SCU’s vision of global engagement while enhancing international students’ understanding of Semarang’s multicultural environment. Utilizing the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) methodology, the research collects data from the stakeholders through focus group discussions (FGDs), interviews with faculty, staff, and students, and feedback from the current students. The findings show the need to integrate Semarang’s history and coastal culture, unique architecture, traditional food and beverages, local arts, and arts performance into the curriculum. Experiential learning activities such as fieldwork and cultural interactions are arranged to enhance exposure to cultural experiences. The program is expected to meet international students’ needs and interests. In short, this study highlights the importance of blending the academic programs with the local cultural elements, improving the inclusivity and depth of the learning experience for international students studying at SCU
Exploring Social Support of Adolescent Mothers in Blitar City
Teenage pregnancy remains a significant issue in Indonesia, including in Blitar City, where many teenagers apply for marriage dispensation due to pregnancy. Adolescence is not an ideal age for pregnancy, as it can lead to various negative impacts on health, psychological well-being, and economic stability. To cope with the challenges of pregnancy, teenagers require social support. With support from those around them, pregnant teenagers may feel safer and more comfortable in facing their situation. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the social support available to pregnant teenagers. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore participants’ lived experiences. Researchers conducted in-depth interviews to obtain comprehensive data. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of five individuals aged 18 to 20, each in their 5th, 6th, or 7th month of pregnancy. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, and validity was enhanced through triangulation with interviews involving participants, significant others, and document analysis. The results indicated that pregnant teenagers need various forms of social support, particularly emotional, instrumental, and informational support. The limitation of this study related to gestational age should be taken into account by future researchers
An Overview of Emotion Dynamics Among Omah Bocah Annaafi' Daycare Teachers
Early Child Education (ECD) daycare teachers face various complex emotional situations in daily interactions when caring for children. This study aims to understand the description of the emotional dynamics of PAUD daycare teachers. The method used in this research was qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with six ECD daycare teachers. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The validity test of the data was carried out using triangulating techniques, which were done by matching the results of interviews with observations during the preliminary study. This research obtained the results that ECD daycare teachers feel negative emotions more intensely, and emotion regulation techniques applied by ECD daycare teachers include situation selection, situation modification, attentional deployment, cognitive change, and response modulation. There are factors that influence the emotional regulation of ECD daycare teachers, namely marital status, educational background, coworker relations, activities outside of care, and care trauma and the meaning of care for ECD daycare teachers. Based on the findings of this study, ECD daycare teachers are expected to conduct self-reflection to be better able to realize and appreciate the positive emotions felt and for agencies to organize activities that can strengthen emotional support among ECD daycare teachers
