The Role of Fear of Negative Evaluation to Self-disclosure on Social Media Among Emerging Adults
Social media serves as a platform for users to engage in self-disclosure. Self-disclosure is a form of communication intentionally used by individuals to reveal personal information to others. However, existing phenomena show that individuals in adolescence and early adulthood often avoid self-disclosure, one reason being the fear of negative evaluation. This study aims to examine the role of fear of negative evaluation in relation to self-disclosure on social media. The instrument used to measure fear of negative evaluation is a modified version of Leary’s (1983) scale, while the self-disclosure instrument is constructed based on the theory of Latifa. The analysis technique employed is simple regression analysis, with the hypothesis that fear of negative evaluation plays a role in influencing self-disclosure among emerging adults’ social media users. The results indicate that the hypothesis is supported, showing that fear of negative evaluation contributes to self-disclosure on social media, with a contribution rate of 12.2%
The Impact of the Ice Breaking Method on Improving Student Engagement: An Experimental Study
This study examines the icebreaker method’s influence on student engagement in learning English at MTSS Walisongo Bantur. An experimental method with a control group design between pre-test and post-test subjects was used to measure differences in student engagement levels before and after freeze-breaking treatment. The participants of this study were students in grades VII, VIII A, VIII B, and IX who were selected based on low commitment to English language learning. The results of the analysis using independent sample t-tests showed that after treatment, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group (p = 0.047), indicating that the ice-breaking method was effective in increasing students’ academic engagement. This significant increase is due to several factors, including interaction with peers, increased concentration, and a more enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study concludes that the application of ice-breaking methods can be an effective alternative to increase student motivation and involvement in learning. Therefore, this method is recommended to be applied in learning in other schools to improve the quality of learning and student engagement
Scrolling Through Stigma Experiment: How Negative Comments Affect Adolescents' Perception of Mental Illness
Adolescents who experience mental illness are vulnerable to stigma from society, especially from their peers, because of the condition they experience. Various factors, such as stigma in society and reactions from other peers, can influence adolescents’ views of peers with mental illness. As there is a shift in communication, and most adolescents interact through social media, it is important to know whether online communication through comments on social media can also influence adolescents’ stigmatisation of mental illness. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of exposure to negative comments on adolescents’ stigmatisation of mental illness on social media through Instagram. This study used an experimental quantitative method with a true experimental design type of post-test only control group with a Mann-Whitney (U-Test) testing model. The results of the study showed a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) and an r value of -0.539, indicating that there is an effect of exposure to negative comments on adolescents’ stigmatisation of mental illness on social media
Impact of COVID-19 infection on placental histopathology and maternal-perinatal outcomes: A cross-sectional study
Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) presents a broad spectrum of clinical outcomes and, unlike other coronaviruses, poses significant risks during pregnancy. A primary concern is the potential for vertical transmission from mother to fetus, affecting both maternal and fetal health.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the placental histopathology and maternal-perinatal outcomes in mothers infected with COVID-19.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 40 pregnant women referred to Ganjavian hospital, Dezful, Iran for delivery from June-October 2021 were enrolled in 2 groups: group I who were women with COVID-19 on the day of delivery (n = 30) and group II who were women without COVID-19 (n = 10). Placental tissue samples were collected post-delivery to assess histopathological changes and placental weight. Additionally, maternal and neonatal characteristics including maternal age, the number of prior deliveries and pregnancies, gestational age, 1- and 5-min Apgar scores, and maternal oxygen administration, mode of delivery, and neonatal COVID-19 test results, were compared between the groups.
Results: No significant differences were found between the groups regarding maternal age, gestational age, parity, Apgar scores, placental weight, oxygen therapy, or delivery method. However, group I showed significantly higher rates of placental abnormalities such as intravillous fetal thrombosis (p = 0.002), fibrin deposition, lymphocytic infiltration, chorangiosis, edema, intervillous hemorrhage, syncytial node formation, distal villous hypoplasia, and avascular villi (p < 0.001).
Conclusion: According to our study, the placental tissue of pregnant women who have been infected with COVID-19 during their third trimester indicates tissue changes that can lead to poor exchanges between mother and fetus
The Relation Between Farmer's Socio-economic Characteristics and Community Forest Management: Study in Semoyo Village, Gunungkidul Regency
Community forest management practices among farmers vary based on several socio-economic factors. This study aimed to identify the types of community forest management adopted by farmers and to examine the factors influencing their choice of management practices. Data were collected through interviews with 40 respondents selected using an incidental sampling method. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to determine the factors influencing management choices. The results revealed that teak and mahogany were commonly selected tree species due to inheritance, ease of marketability, the presence of naturally growing saplings, and low maintenance requirements. Maintenance activities, primarily weeding and fertilizing, were conducted alongside food crop cultivation. Harvesting was carried out as needed (tebang butuh) by selectively cutting trees with sufficiently large diameters for use or sale. Factors influencing planting decisions included age, mentoring, farming experience, participation in farmer group, and land size. Maintenance practices were influenced by the farmer’s main occupation, income from timber, and land area. Meanwhile, harvesting decisions were affected by family size and income from non-timber sources
Growth and Yield of Biosoy Soybeans During Rainy Season Using Mycorrhiza Biofertilizer and NPK
Soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) are typically cultivated at the beginning of the dry season, as they do not grow optimally during the rainy season. This study investigates the combined effects of mycorrhizal biofertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the growth of the Biosoy soybean variety during the rainy season. The experiment was conducted from 7 December 2022 to 7 March 2023, in Sidoharjo, Wonogiri District, Central Java, Indonesia using a Randomized Completely Block Design with two factors: mycorrhizal biofertilizer (0, 2.5 g, 5 g, and 7.5 g per plant) and NPK fertilizer (0, 1 g, 2 g, and 3 g per plant), with three replications. Results showed that mycorrhizal biofertilizer application significantly impacted the weight of 100 dried seeds and seed yield per plot. NPK treatment significantly impacted plant height, fresh pods weight, 100 dried seeds weight, and seed per plot yield per plot, which reached up to 154.23 g. The interaction between mycorrhiza and NPK also had a significant effect on fresh pod and dry seed weights. The optimal combination was 5 g mycorrhiza and 2 g NPK per plant, which resulted in improved growth parameters: plant height (33.17 cm), number of leaves (83.25 strands), wet plant weight (25.20 g), dry plant weight (9.18 g), number of pods (29.83 fruits), fresh pod weight (29.11 g), dry seed weight (10.43 g), and 100 dried seed weight (25.97 g). These findings suggest that Biosoy soybeans can be effectively cultivated during the rainy season with proper fertilization
Da'wah Movement in an Environment-based Campus: Strategy and Implementation at Islamic State University of Raden Intan Lampung
Campus da’wah is ilallah da’wah that aims to encourage students to Islam using formal or informal facilities at the university. In Indonesia, campus da’wah is vital and almost every university has a campus da’wah institution with a different name. The increasing density of populations, vehicles, and the application of contemporary technology to exploit nature unintentionally has led to a decline in the quality of the campus environment. The other is green, clean, and beautiful in the campus environment of UIN Raden Intan Lampung. This research aims to analyze the da’wah movement in the campus environment, focusing on the strategy and implementation carried out at the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung. Da’wah in the campus environment has an important role in shaping the character of students and strengthening Islamic values. The research method with a qualitative descriptive approach and data were collected through observation techniques, interviews, and documentation supported by primary and secondary data. The results conclude that the success of the da’wah movement on campus is greatly influenced by the organization’s ability to design strategies that are relate to the characteristics of students and the ability to collaborate with various parties. In sentimental da’wah strategies, partners are motivated to think, reflect, and learn from what they do. Rational strategies encourage da’wah partners to think, reflect, and take lessons from what they do. Finally, the sensory strategy uses their five senses to produce the truth. The study recommends to increase the capacity of human resources involved in da’wah, optimize the use of information technology, and develop a more inclusive and participatory da’wah program
Effects of QazVac Vaccination on Immune and Clinical Characteristics in Patients With and Without Long COVID-19
Long COVID-19 is characterized by the persistence of symptoms and immune alterations beyond the acute phase of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Understanding the demographic, clinical, and immunological differences between individuals with and without long COVID-19 is crucial for developing targeted interventions. This observational study included 206 participants, comprising 90 patients with long COVID-19 and 116 without. Data on demographic, lifestyle, and clinical characteristics were collected, alongside immune cell profiles and SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels. Statistical analyses compared these parameters between the two groups. Long COVID-19 patients were predominantly female (77.8%), older (47.78% aged 41–60, 20% >60 years), and had higher BMI, hypertension (31.1%), and autoimmune diseases (11.1%) compared to nonlong COVID-19 individuals (P < 0.001). Clinical symptoms unique to long COVID-19 included memory loss (40.0%), hair loss (37.8%), fatigue (35.6%), and myalgia/arthralgia (28.9%), all absent in the control group (P < 0.001). Immunologically, patients with long COVID-19 exhibited distinct immune profiles, including elevated cytotoxic T cells (CD3+CD8+), reduced B cells, and higher CD4/CD8 ratios. Moreover, long COVID-19 patients had higher SARS-CoV-2 antibody levels, with 15.5% showing levels between 1000–2500 BAU/ml, compared to 6.9% in controls. These immunological biomarkers, including altered T cell subsets and antibody levels, highlight the complex immune dysregulation associated with long COVID-19. These findings could inform future clinical management and therapeutic strategies targeting immune modulation

Assessment of Beep Test Performance and Cardiorespiratory Endurance in Young Footballers: A Cross-sectional Study in the UAE
Aim: The study aims to examine the Beep test performance and the cardiorespiratory endurance among young footballers in the United Arab Emirates while also analyzing the correlations of lower limb muscle strength (quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscle) with the Beep test performance.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 78 participants were selected according to the inclusion criteria, and demographic data was collected. Preparatory tests such as heart rate (HR), blood pressure (BP), and lower limb strength measurements were recorded. Parameters such as peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), and forced vital capacity (FVC) were measured using MIR SPIRODOC. The data was collected in two stages, before and after conducting the Beep test.
Results: The mean age and body mass index (BMI) of the participants were 13.71 years and 19.18 kg/m2. The variables like heart rate, systolic blood pressure, FEV1, FVC, and PEFR for pre- and post-Beep test performance showed statistical significance (p<0.05). The correlation coefficients for quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscle strength with Beep test performance were found to be r=0.87, r=0.79, and r=0.31, respectively, indicating a strong correlation for quadriceps and hamstrings and a weak correlation for calf muscles.
Conclusion: The study found a direct correlation of quadriceps and hamstrings with Beep test performance, and the pre-and post-Beep test values of various cardiorespiratory parameters such as HR, systolic blood pressure (SBP), FEV1, FVC, and PEFR showed significance, highlighting the physiological demands of the test
