Sustainable Water Management in Rural Areas: Challenges and Strategies for Progress
Access to clean water in rural areas is crucial for public health, yet sustainable rural water management remains a significant challenge. Limited access is the main problem in sustainable water management in rural areas. The primary priority in addressing this issue is providing water infrastructure and developing appropriate technology. This study explores strategies for creating sustainable water management practices in rural areas using qualitative research methods with a single case study approach in West Java, Indonesia. We analyze current practices and identify potential solutions through semi-structured interviews. Findings highlight the importance of integrating community participation and technological innovations to improve water distribution, detect leaks, and enhance overall system efficiency. Practical implications include recommendations for policymakers, rural-owned enterprise managers, and stakeholders to prioritize investment in water infrastructure and technology development. Rural areas can achieve sustainable water management goals by empowering communities to participate actively in water management and leveraging innovative solutions. This study’s uniqueness lies in its holistic approach, addressing both technical and social aspects of sustainable rural water management to achieve community well-being and fill research gaps in environmental management accounting
Actual Environmental and Occupational Health Safety Performance Driven from Sustainability Reports of Energy Provision Corporations
Sustainability reports (SRs) are demanded by the global market. However, some stakeholders are sceptical of their direct effects to associated sites’ actual environmental health safety (EHS) performances. This research examines SRs’ content and processes to be compared with EHS achievement of three energy provisions corporations having third-party assurance during the study period. It is a qualitative study in which analysis is carried out on the basis of reviewing sustainability reports, observing directly verified events undertaken by third party assurers, and interviewing the three assurers. The research questions are: What are inherent weaknesses in improving actual EHS performance through SRs? What are difficulties in syncrhonizing SRs and sites’ EHS performance? How much are these differences impacting stakeholder assurance level? How does the third party assurer narrow the gaps? The results show that there were always inherent gaps between the SRs and actual sites’ achievement. The three corporates continously managed to narrowing the gaps through internal synchronization and external verification by which improvement occurs both in the SRs and sites. This research provides evidence on the benefit of the SRs in improving EHS sites’ implementation by which encouragement for other corporates apply the same practices and approaches
Strategic Human Resource Capabilities in Promoting Sustainable Energy Practices: An Integrative Framework
This research aims to provide an integrated framework that would make it clearer how strategic human resources (HR) can help organizations adopt sustainable energy practices. A thorough study of the literature was carried out on 97 peer-reviewed publications that were taken from large academic databases between 2019 and 2024. The report included a summary of organizational capacities, HR strategies, and sustainable energy projects. The effective adoption of sustainable energy practices is greatly aided by critical HR competencies such as eco-focused performance management, sustainability training, and green talent management. Three critical organizational competencies that serve as intermediaries between HR practices and sustainable energy outputs were found by the study: stakeholder involvement, green innovation, and environmental leadership. An integrated framework that shows the connections between these is suggested as the study’s conclusion. The framework offers HR professionals and sustainability managers a viable framework for coordinating HR strategy with sustainable development goals inside organizations. To further test and improve the recommended framework in a range of industrial and cultural situations, further research areas are suggested
Bridging the Skill Gap in Energy Transition: Towards a Sustainable Workforce Development
The shift to sustainable energy systems demands a staff with the abilities and know-how to oversee new procedures and technology. This study uses a systematic literature review (SLR) of studies that were published between 2021 and 2024 to investigate methods for closing the skills gap in the energy industry. A thorough search and assessment of pertinent research was conducted across many large academic databases, such as Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The significance of ongoing professional development, the incorporation of digital competences, and the function of cooperative industry-academy collaborations in workforce development are among the major topics that have been recognized. The results demonstrate that targeted expenditures in education and training that are adapted to new technology needs are essential for a successful energy transition. The study also shows that multidisciplinary skills are becoming more and more important, and that adaptive learning frameworks are necessary to stay up with the quick changes in the sector. One of the main conclusions is that in order to close the skills gap and guarantee a workforce skilled in sustainable energy for the future, a multifaceted strategy that combines corporate commitment, legislative assistance, and creative educational approaches is necessary. For policymakers, educators, and business executives seeking to improve worker competencies in the changing energy market, this research offers insightful information
International Student Engagement in Continuous Learning Participation: An Integrated Approach with Entrepreneurial Activities
This research examines international students’ involvement in continuous learning participation using data obtained from the integrated method and analyzed through a mixed methods approach and means-ends chains. Cluster analysis was conducted to identify mixed method types. An initial qualitative survey with 30 respondents generated questionnaire items, and a quantitative survey to compile a value map was conducted targeting 100 respondents. Cluster analysis identified bicultural acceptance, heritage culture maintenance, and bicultural marginalization as different types that differentiate the level of acculturation among international students. The results of the three types of acculturations show that significant items and strong associations between attribute-consequence and consequence-value at each level reflect the inner thoughts and intrinsic values of international students. These strong associations provide a value map, differentiated by acculturation type. The findings suggest that the availability of integrated services is necessary to better meet the specific interests of international students at different stages of acculturation. Given that the mobility of international students has increased substantially, professionals and relevant entrepreneurial organizations should understand that international students’ sustained engagement in entrepreneurial activities can only be achieved if attention is paid to the cultural context

Dynamics of Decision Making in Islamic Boarding School Students Who Choose to Date
Decision-making is the selection of one alternative from several alternative solutions with certain considerations in order to solve a problem. The focus of this study is to reveal the dynamics of decision-making in students who choose to date. This study was conducted using a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study were 6 teenage students aged 16-17 years who were in a relationship. The selection of subjects used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews and observations. The focus of this study was to determine the dynamics of decision-making for students who choose to date. The results of this study indicate that the dynamics of decision-making in teenage students who choose to date are influenced by factors, bases, and stages related to family background and the influence of the Islamic boarding school environment. The dynamics of the factors are related to understanding, motives, environmental reactions, cognitive, and attitudes. The dynamics of decision-making influenced by the base are related to subjective intuition and the experiences of the subjects. Meanwhile, the selection of alternatives and evaluation of the decision to date are dynamics that emerge based on the stages of decision-making
