Undergraduate Project Supervision: Constructive Strategies for Effective Mentorship
Undergraduate project supervision is one obligatory component of education in higher institutions that involves assisting students as they conduct personal research and/or practical work geared towards preparing a final document or presentation. Supervision of undergraduate project papers, however, remains a complex task that can hinder the success of supervision; hence, the learning of the students and their career growth go down as well. This study aims to analyse the literature on effective mentorship strategies in undergraduate project supervision. Literature analysis for this study has been carried out with great precision through a systematic search strategy based on some keywords. The literature analysis reveals several constructive strategies for effective mentorship in undergraduate project supervision, namely: (a) establish a regular consultation schedule; (b) guide the preparation of a timeline/Gantt chart; (c) encourage topic selection related to internship or industry needs; (d) avoid last-minute preparations; (e) review work methodically; and (f) adapt supervision to student needs. In conclusion, this study sheds light on how using efficient supervision for undergraduate project management requires active and ready mentorship. For future studies on the present study, it is a good idea to research the long-term effects of mentorship on the students and the way sustained mentorship factors affect the academic results and career paths of learners over time
Pelaksanaan Pendekatan Bermain dalam Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran di Pusat Asuhan Tunas Islam

Racial Complexity and Political Voting Decision: A Study on Young Voters in DUN Semenyih
Chaos theory is a useful tool for politicians and policymakers to achieve their political objectives through deliberate changes. Several political parties seem to gain advantages from chaotic situations, while others suffer significantly. Chaotic phenomena destabilize the emotions and behaviors of voters, making them complex, uncertain, and unpredictable. This research aims to examine how chaos theory has been significantly applicable to voter intentions and behaviors by analyzing a Malaysian political phenomenon. The Malaysian political landscape, before and after the 2018 general election, was filled with multiple chaotic phenomena. The political maneuver known as the "Sheraton Move" in February 2020 created massive political chaos, instantly altering the federal government and several elected state governments. With the collapse of the elected Federal Government, political realignments also took place in the states of Perak, Kedah, Melaka, and Johor, shifting from Pakatan Harapan to Perikatan Nasional, and subsequently, Barisan Nasional. The political chaos and the butterfly effect led to several unprecedented phenomena, including the cohabitation of numerous political adversaries, the gain of power without an election process, changes in the election cycle, and the resurgence of minority parties to state power. It has been established that social media played a role in mediating political chaos. Thus, this study will explore and explain the effects of political chaos on voters' intentions and behaviors, focusing on the impact on young voters' evaluations and decisions in the Semenyih Constituency, Selangor. The expected sample for this study is 380 respondents, and a survey will be used to collect and analyze the data
SNS Use, Depression Symptoms and the Moderating Role of Attachment Amongst Emerging Adults
Accumulating research suggests the positive relationship between Social Network Sites (SNS) use and depression symptoms. However, it is still unclear how the relationship between SNS use and depression develops and what are the contributing factors. The aim of the current study was to investigate the relationship between SNS use, symptoms of depression and attachment styles. Additionally, the study tested the moderation effect of insecure attachment on the relationship between SNS use and depression symptoms. A total of 266 participants aged 18-25 years old, students of a public university in Penang, Malaysia completed an online survey containing SNS use self-report, Bergen’s Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) and Relationship Experiences in Close Relationships – Revised Questionnaire (ECR-R). Findings suggested a significant relationship between SNS use and depression symptoms. Additionally, findings showed that insecure attachment, characterized by attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance, was significantly associated with depression symptoms. It is observed that attachment anxiety was only marginally significant in moderating the relationship between SNS use and depression symptoms. Theoretically, this study suggested the role of attachment as a possible antecedent of depression symptoms, as well as a potential moderator in the relationship between SNS use and depression symptoms. Findings of this study highlight the importance of establishing and nurturing a secure caretaker-child bond which could promote more mental resilience and serve as a buffer to negative SNS use effects
Factors Influencing TVET Choices among Secondary School Students in Kuching
TVET has not been well known among the Malaysian population. Participation in TVET has not yet been given a clear status. In Malaysia, TVET is currently not a popular option for higher education and is viewed negatively as it only serves dropouts. The majority of SPM graduates are still uncertain about which educational path they want to follow, and TVET is usually not their first choice. Given the recent surge in demand for skilled workers, this issue needs to be addressed. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate the perception of TVET among the genders and class streams of secondary school students. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted with 234 students from three different schools in the Kuching area who completed a questionnaire. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. This finding implies that there is no statistically significant difference between male and female participants' overall impressions. As a result, the study indicates that there is insufficient data to establish the existence of a significant variation in overall perceptions across genders. According to the findings of the data analysis utilizing One-way ANOVA and post-hoc testing, there is no significant difference in overall perceptions amongst students from different class streams. To deepen students' interest in TVET, the government should continuously provide comprehensive information on TVET to students on a regular basis, helping them to make educated decisions regarding their tertiary education
Indigenous Cultural Tourism in Malaysia
There are almost 500 million indigenous people in the world, in over 90 countries. Each of the indigenous groups has its own culture, belief, and skills. This has made them a very special community in the world. The uniqueness of the indigenous people has attracted people to come to learn and experience their culture. Thus, indigenous culture has been used as part of tourist attractions in many countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The tourism sector will benefit the indigenous community and the government itself. The indigenous community gets to improve their socio-economy and will continue to practice their culture and the government gets to improve their revenue through tourism. Malaysia is home to almost 200,000 thousand Indigenous people (Orang Asli) from three main ethnic groups. Thus, Malaysia has implemented the indigenous culture of Orang Asli as part of its tourism sector. Hence, this study is conducted to analyze the law and practice of indigenous cultural tourism in the Orang Asli in Peninsular Malaysia. Apart from that, a comparison will be made to Australia to study its law and practice in promoting aboriginal cultural tourism. However, this study finds that challenges remain in the need to balance the protection of Orang Asli’s culture and socio-economic development. Furthermore, the inefficiency of local management remains a challenge in promoting indigenous cultural tourism in Malaysia. Therefore, Malaysia needs to improve on its management to enhance indigenous cultural tourism in Malaysia
Reviewing How Individual Differences in Working Memory Capacity Affect the Ability in Following Instructions
This literature review aims to analyze the role of individual differences in working memory capacity in following instructions based on theoretical perspectives and empirical evidence. Individual differences in working memory capacity have an impact on the encoding, and retrieval stage. In general, the output from the review stated that the performance difference between individuals relates to the experimental design and treatment, which include delivery of the instructions, presentation of objects, the length of instructions, involvement of dual tasks, and retrieval methods. In addition, the contents of instructions can be transferred into working memory space if the individuals can give a high level of attention and control the attention to suppress the distractors. Therefore, the ability to follow instructions depends on the individual's understanding of the instructions' meaning and matching them with the available space of their working memory (capacity). This review also adds value and suggestions to the need to conduct more research on the role of working memory capacity in following instructions
Malaysian Stereotypes on Adolescents Involved in Delinquency: Acquaintances vs Close Friends
There are several stereotypes on adolescents involved in delinquency (e.g., dislike academic studies, lazy, aggressive, rebellious). Looking into this point, literature regarding the factors contributing to delinquent behaviours in adolescents involved in delinquency indicates that parental neglect, peer pressure, low trust in teachers, lack of self-esteem, attention-seeking and risk-taking might be possible stereotypes upon adolescents involved in delinquency. This study proposes that close friends and acquaintances of delinquent adolescents might have different perspectives in terms of stereotyping adolescents involved in delinquency. With that, this study examined the differences in stereotypes on adolescents involved in delinquency, considering the factors established by literature regarding delinquent behaviors. The study aims to investigate the perspectives on this topic between close friends to delinquent adolescents (versus acquaintances) in the Malaysian context. 160 participants (Malaysian close friends versus acquaintances) were recruited to complete an online survey. Independent sample t-test was conducted to analyse the collected data. Findings show that acquaintances to delinquent adolescents have significant higher stereotypes on the factors peer pressure and risk-taking in the Malaysian context. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings were discussed
