Prediction Model of School Drop Out Factors Using Classification Techniques in Selangor
Malaysia has been struggling to sustain the number of students graduating from school, with an increasing number leaving early, which poses significant concerns for the future generation. Several factors contribute to this issue, such as economic constraints, geographical challenges, transportation problems, and sociocultural norms. This paper uses a data mining approach to identify the attributes that lead to school dropouts and to determine the predictive model with the highest accuracy for forecasting dropout rates. The application of data mining approaches has proven effective in predicting students at risk of dropping out in general education. Nevertheless, there is a shortage of data mining-related studies on student attrition in public schools in Malaysia. The study utilized student and school datasets with consent from the respective departments in the Ministry of Education. This data includes information from 2,482 students across various primary schools in Selangor with initially 22 attributes collected from the dataset. After the attributes undergone feature selection process by using InfoGainAttributeEval, there are 12 features left including class attribute Status_DO. The collected data encompasses student demographics, academic performance and socioeconomic background. The experiments for this study used Decision Trees (J48), Naïve Bayes and Random Forest. By using classification techniques that were made available in WEKA, all attributes from the dataset were tested. The results of the analysis shown that Random Forest with the highest accuracy of 79.5729% in term of predicting student drop out hence indicate the reliability of this research as a decision support tool

This study was conducted to identify the level of knowledge and awareness of used cooking oil management among the community in the Kuala Nerus district, Terengganu. The study involved 30 respondents in the community, namely traders, used cooking oil wholesalers, households, students and the government. The study used a mixed method, i.e. qualitative and quantitative research using fuzzy cognitive modelling including individual mental model modeling. The results of the study showed that the knowledge of cooking oil waste recycling among the respondents was still at a moderate level. The results of the study found that for the aspect of qualitative analysis, there were four themes that emerged, namely knowledge, awareness, attitude and culture. While descriptive analysis identifies the most dominant relationship strength is the theme of awareness. However, studies showed that most Arab patients are unable to speak other than their mother tongue language which is Arabic language, and they are very attached to their unique culture, which makes them prefer specialized services at healthcare centers. Thus, this research aims at acquiring the challenges faced by Arab patients and their utmost needs toward Arabic communication aspects to be addressed by healthcare personnel while attending them. This qualitative research employed semi-structured interview using needs analysis theory by Hutchinson and Waters (1987) toward 6 Arab patients at 5 different selected healthcare centers in Klang valley. The results demonstrated that the informants faced communication problems with limited understanding of formal Arabic including management and promotional issues. In addressing these problems, informants indicated their needs toward a competent healthcare public relations personnel who are able to assist them in their communication issues especially related to translation and interpretation, as well as knowledgeable in Arabic dialects and culture to boost effective communication. Evaluating the Quality of Training Programs for Pre-Service Music Teachers in Chinese Higher Education Institutions
This research utilized an explanatory sequential design within a mixed-methods framework to assess the effectiveness of three pre-service music teacher programs aimed at Grades 1-12 in China. First, a group of four evaluators was asked to holistically assess the overall quality of these programs on a scale ranging from 1 to 10. Second, the evaluators were invited answer four open-ended questions about the areas for improvement in terms of program goals and objectives, program curricula, instructional methods, and learning assessments, respectively. The generalizability (G-) theory framework was employed to analyze the quantitative data, particularly to examine the variability in ratings and the reliability of the program evaluations. The qualitative data underwent coding, categorization, and organization according to recurring themes. The results indicated that the rating of the quality of these programs by the four program evaluators was extremely consistent and unbelievably reliable. Furthermore, major areas for improvement are identified in program objectives and curricula as well as instructional methods and learning assessments. Implications for pre-service music teacher training program developers in Chinese colleges and universities are discussed

Regulation of Rainwater in Quyuan Park Using the SWMM: A Case of Changde City, China
This study focuses on Quyuan Park in Changde City, Hunan Province, China, and compares two development scenarios: one without a sponge facility and one with a combined sponge facility. The SWMM model was used to simulate total runoff, peak flow, and peak time under 2-hour rainfall events with recurrence periods of 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, and 10 years. The results demonstrate that the SWMM model can accurately quantify the runoff reduction performance of various sponge facilities, providing a reliable theoretical foundation and data support for addressing urban stormwater management challenges. The findings highlight the significant advantages of sponge facilities in reducing runoff and delaying flood peaks, particularly in controlling peak flow and extending the peak occurrence time. This study offers valuable data and insights for advancing the application of sponge city strategies to mitigate urban flooding
