This study examines community scrap recycling platforms as an important tool for promoting sustainable development. Focusing on the i-City community in Malaysia, the investigation used user journey mapping, desktop research, questionnaires, and affinity diagrams to collect and then categorize residents' needs, designed and distributed Kano questionnaires, analysed and counted the attribute categories of each need, and calculated the sensitivity of each need through a Better-worse four quadrant scatter diagram. A detailed requirements analysis report was ultimately developed to provide insights into the service design of the community scrap recycling platform and to help guide future improvements and innovations to better meet user expectations and promote the sustainable development of the community scrap recycling business
Maps Pelantar Benua Malaysia 1979 and Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI): Malaysia Approach to Settle Overlapping
This paper examines the Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) map issued by Indonesia in 2017, which affects the Malaysia maritime zone based on Peta Pelantar Benua Malaysia 1979 (Peta Baru 1979), as well as and Malaysia approach to settle the overlapping with Indonesia. This paper has three objectives. First, to describe Peta Baru 1979 and NKRI Map 2017; second, to compare the responses of Malaysia and Indonesia towards overlapping issues; third, to analyse the Malaysian approach to settle the overlapping issues. The concept used for this paper is national security to support discourse surrounding the actions of Malaysia. The method used in this paper is a qualitative one derived from secondary data sources collected from reliable printed and online documents. The findings of this paper are that first, there is an overlapping maritime zone area between Malaysia and Indonesia based on a map issued by both countries; second, the Malaysian and Indonesian government responses to settle the overlapping issue without involving war; and third, Malaysia adopts a diplomacy approach in relation to the resolution of maritime delimitation issues. This paper concludes that Malaysia's approach and strategy in addressing the issue of overlapping maritime boundaries and at the same time maintaining relations with Indonesia as a neighbouring country
Analysis of the Report Framing of China's Mainstream News Media During Major Epidemics
The major epidemic poses a huge threat to public health and social stability and require a joint response by the government, health authorities, media and the public. The high level of attention paid to the coverage of such events poses a huge challenge for the news media. However, different media have different news frames, and audiences can understand and recognize things through the news frames constructed by media. In this paper, People's Daily, one of the most influential national mainstream media in China, and Hubei Daily, a representative of local mainstream media, are selected as the research objects, and relevant reports on the epidemic from these two news portals from December 31, 2019, to April 8, 2020 are selected. The news framing theory of Pan and Kosicki (1993) is utilized. This paper analyzes the media framework adopted by different types of media in reporting the epidemic situation, and what role this media framework plays in the epidemic situation report, so as to provide useful reference for the media reporting of such major emergency public health events
Boundary Spanning and Isomorphism Interactions
This study explores the relationship between isomorphism, boundary-spanning, institutional restrictions, and procedural congruence. Using fuzzy (set-theoretic) logic and concepts of causal dependence, we aim to clarify the presence of isomorphism on firms designated as protected origins and boundary-spanning. Employing fuzzy (set-theoretic) logic, we analyse the interactions between isomorphism, institutional restrictions, procedural congruence, and boundary-spanning. By investigating causal dependencies, we uncover the underlying mechanisms shaping firms’ interactions within diverse contexts. Our study reveals that isomorphism interactions can be examined through causal (counterfactual) dependence, emphasising their significance. Furthermore, causal dependence can occur without explicit causation, indicating a transitive relationship involving interactions. Isomorphism can serve as a counterexample to causal dependence, maintaining a boundary interaction between contextual factors and institutional constraints. Additionally, causal dependence involving interactions may not necessarily constrain isomorphism, suggesting an intransitive relationship. Isomorphism may also present a facade of conformity when analysed through causal (counterfactual) dependence, highlighting the complexity of these interactions. This research contributes to the literature by examining the relationship between isomorphism and institutional constraints, providing original insights into boundary-spanning and isomorphism. Moreover, our study advances understanding of causal dependence in explaining firm interactions, with implications for international business
Assessing Mukah Community's Readiness Participation in the Ecotourism Industry
Ecotourism is a distinct category within the broader tourism sector. Ecotourism is an excellent option for enhancing local socioeconomic circumstances and generating economic activity that positively impacts the national economy. The involvement of local communities, specifically rural youth communities, in ecotourism activities can offer employment prospects such as serving as nature guides, engaging in business ventures within the ecotourism industry, benefiting from the activities and products of ecotourism, and fostering social connections and local income growth. However, an essential determinant of the effectiveness of tourist development programs is the level of readiness within the community to engage in these ecotourism activities. The objective of this essay is to evaluate the preparedness of the local community in Mukah for the implementation of ecotourism activities. The study was carried out as part of the community program. A total of 62 respondents originated from the surrounding communities of Mukah, Sarawak. The findings indicated that most participants had neither attended nor received any kind of training in nature guiding. Although most respondents initially did not engage in ecotourism activities, a significant number of them showed a newfound interest in becoming nature guides and stated a readiness to pursue relevant courses in the future after enrolling in the program. It indicates that a significant proportion of young people participating in this program had the necessary readiness to engage in local ecotourism initiatives
The Influence of Parenting Styles on Mental Health Among Children in Henan Province, China
This study aims to examine the correlation between parenting styles of children and their mental health. A cross-sectional study with 384 children with parents was carried out in Henan Province with children aged 10-13 years old. The findings showed a significant negative correlation between emotional warmth and mental health (β = -0.253, p< 0.001), indicating that the higher the level of emotional warmth perceived during the parenting process, the lower the mental health symptom scores, reflecting better mental health in children. There is a significant positive correlation between rejection and mental health (β = 0.381, p < 0.001), indicating that higher levels of perceived rejection during the parenting process are associated with higher mental health symptom scores, reflecting poorer mental health in children. There is a significant difference in parenting styles by grade level (F = 3.491, p = 0.016). In conclusion, only some of the research hypotheses are supported in this study. The mental health of children is greatly impacted by the parenting methods of their parents. Parenting philosophies that prioritised rejection and emotional warmth had a stronger effect on children's mental health
