Revolutionary Strategies for Enhancing Education in Islamic Boarding Schools
This study aimed to provide an overview of the implementation of teacher learning management in improving student academic achievement at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Buriko. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation using a qualitative descriptive method. The findings indicate that effective learning management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Buriko involves three key stages: (1) Learning Planning: Lesson plans and other administrative tools are prepared, although often only to meet administrative requirements. (2) Implementation: Teachers generally follow their lesson plans, except in certain subjects where they rely solely on student textbooks. (3) Evaluation: This involves formative and summative assessments and evaluations of students' spiritual and social attitudes. Improved student learning outcomes are evidenced by fewer remedial cases attributed to teachers' innovative methods. However, challenges include insufficient infrastructure, additional teacher assignments, inadequate knowledge of planning and implementation, limited study duration, and student-related issues such as afternoon drowsiness, lack of enthusiasm, and discipline problems
Enhancing Potential: Performance Evaluation of Arabic Language Teachers
This study aims to contribute theoretically to the development of educational science and provide practical insights for Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Towuti and similar institutions in evaluating teacher performance to enhance educational quality. The research employs an evaluative approach using the discrepancy model, conducted through qualitative methods, including observation, interviews, and document analysis, focusing on the performance evaluation of Arabic language teachers at MTsN Towuti. The findings reveal that Arabic teachers excel in lesson planning, as evidenced by the comprehensive administrative preparations at the start of the academic year. However, while overall performance was good during the implementation phase, challenges such as ineffective classroom management, monotonous teaching methods, and insufficient encouragement for creative thinking were noted. In the assessment phase, teachers demonstrated strong performance in designing assessment tools, applying diverse strategies to monitor student progress, and providing constructive feedback, aligning with school and national standards. The evaluation concludes that the teachers' performance in planning, implementation, and assessment is generally good, adhering to established standards. The study recommends that these strengths be maintained and further enhanced. The implications suggest that stakeholders should pay greater attention to teacher qualifications, advocating for more extensive training and certification programs. Practically, the findings serve as constructive feedback for Arabic language teachers to improve their performance further
Strategic Management in Strengthening Religious Moderation: A Case Study in Primary Schools
Indonesia’s rich cultural and religious diversity presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly in fostering social harmony in pluralistic societies. This study examines the management of religious moderation in two primary education institutions, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta (MIS) Rantepao and SD Katolik Rantepao III, located in North Toraja Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative research design, the study explores the implementation, strategic steps, and challenges of strengthening religious moderation within these schools. Findings reveal that religious moderation is tailored to the unique contexts of each institution. MIS Rantepao integrates Islamic values with community engagement through activities such as celebrating Islamic holidays and promoting social harmony among students. Conversely, SD Katolik Rantepao III emphasizes humanistic values, inclusivity, and interfaith respect, creating a learning environment that prioritizes egalitarianism and collaboration. Both schools also incorporate nationalism and civic education, reinforcing unity through Indonesia’s foundational principles of Pancasila. Systematic steps, such as lesson planning, diverse teaching methodologies, and inclusive character education, demonstrate the commitment of both schools to fostering tolerance and inclusivity. Despite their efforts, challenges persist, including resource limitations, internal religious differences, and navigating local cultural traditions. These challenges underscore the need for sustained dialogue, enhanced resources, and innovative strategies to support religious moderation. This study contributes to understanding the role of education in promoting tolerance and social cohesion in multicultural societies. The findings offer practical insights for educators and policymakers aiming to foster inclusivity and harmonious coexistence through educational institutions
Boosting Listening Skills in Non-English Major Freshmen: Challenges and Solutions at Dong Nai Technology University
This research investigates the difficulties non-major students face in English listening comprehension, focusing on those who have undergone a TOEIC-oriented English module. Listening is a critical skill for effective communication, yet many learners find it challenging. The study identifies specific listening obstacles and evaluates students' performance across different listening tasks. A descriptive statistical approach was employed, with data collected via a listening test based on the TOEIC format, administered to 190 first-year students at Dong Nai Technology University. Results indicate that students perform better in tasks involving discrete statements and responses but struggle significantly with conversations and monologues, which require more complex listening skills. The analysis reveals that while students can manage straightforward, detailed information, their inferencing abilities and handling of long, complex sentences are inadequate. These findings suggest a need for targeted instructional strategies to enhance listening comprehension, particularly in making inferences and processing detailed auditory information. Improving these skills is essential for students' overall listening proficiency and success in TOEIC and real-world communication
The Utilization of Virtual Learning Environment in Malaysian Non-Arabic Speaking Learners’ Classroom
This study aimed to understand the utilization of VLE in Non-Arabic Speaking Learners’ classrooms from the perspective of Arabic teachers in higher education institutions. Purposive sampling was utilized to pick the research sample for this study. Then, the sample used for this study consisted of 3 Arabic language teachers. One-to-one in-depth interviews were conducted with the three informants. Semi-structured interviews were used to gather the data to allow the informants to express their experiences in an accessible manner. A case study was used in this study to create a qualitative design. The researcher used a method called thematic analysis (TA) and followed a few steps, including (i) word-by-word transcription, (ii) interview transcription, (iii) coding, and (iv) labeling. The findings illustrated the Arabic teachers’ perspectives on using VLE, the approaches when implementing VLE, and how VLE can effectively teach the Arabic language. The responses of the three informants would illustrate the main themes found using the thematic analysis (TA) method. The analysis of this study helps provide such information to universities on the perspectives of Arabic teachers on the use of VLE, their approaches when implementing VLE, and how VLE can be effective in their language teaching in a virtual learning context. This study allows us to understand better how Malaysian Arabic teachers adapt to virtual language learning environments by utilizing VLE at the university level
Expanding Demand for Master’s Degree Programs in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education in Mongolia
The fourth revolution of industrialization has enormously influenced the education sector and needs to be dynamic and sensible in light of the changeable requirements of employers. Specifically, higher education institutions (HEIs) must focus on the global labor market to offer an innovative curriculum and attract prospective students. One of the current trends in the higher education sector is to design interdisciplinary degree programs. The interdisciplinary master's degree program is relatively new in Mongolian tertiary education. Therefore, we aimed to identify the need for a master’s degree program in interdisciplinary studies in education from the perspective of prospective students and also determine the areas of studies that have been preferred in the field of education. In this study, two online surveys and a focused-group interview were conducted. Three hundred ten educators were involved in the online surveys and focused-group interviews. The research questions were created on Google form, data was collected electronically, and focused group interviews were conducted simultaneously. The findings indicated that 52% of the prospective students preferred a master’s degree program in interdisciplinary studies in education, and a diverse combination of areas has been demanded, in particular, education and modern teaching methodology (26.4%); teaching and linguistics (25.5%); education and international studies (23%) and, teaching and psychology (19.4%). The other important finding was that interdisciplinary studies would be able to provide the necessary knowledge and skills that make graduates competitive in the labor market
Infrastructure and Enrolment of Scheduled Tribe Students in India
This paper examines the school infrastructure and student enrolment among the tribal community in India. Data from the UDISE+ Reports of the Government of India for 2012-13 to 2020-21 was used for the analysis. Tribal welfare schools in the country increased between 2012-13 and 2014-15 before declining. In tribal welfare schools, water access has improved, although many schools still lack drinking water and handwash facilities. One-fifth of tribal welfare schools do not have restrooms, which infers open defecation practices. Other facilities, such as the library, playground, electricity, and computers, are unavailable to all the tribal welfare schools. However, meager school improvements, enrolment, and infrastructure have been witnessed since 2019. Given this, it is critical to stress that an increasing number of schools with good infrastructure would encourage the tribal students' enrollment. Therefore, equity and high-quality education for all citizens can aid in a country's pursuit of sustainable growth
