Characteristic-Based Development Students Aspect
The characteristics of students from cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects so that educators are able to cultivate and develop the potential and talents of each student so that educators easily evaluate the strengths and weaknesses in learning. Different characteristics possessed by each student can provide an understanding for each educator to use strategies and methods in developing these different talents and potentials. Understanding the development of student characteristics can be seen from three aspects, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The cognitive element is the domain that includes mental activities (brain). Emotional issues are those related to attitudes and values, which include behavioral traits such as feelings, interests, beliefs, emotions, and values. Psychomotor aspects are domains that include movement behavior and physical coordination, motor skills, and physical abilities of a person so that the skills that will develop if often practiced can be measured based on distance, speed, speed, technique, and manner of implementation. Analyzing students can be seen in four key factors that determine student success, including general characteristics (general characteristics), specific entry competencies (special initial abilities), learning styles (learning styles), and multiple intelligences (plural intelligences)
Siri' Culture in Tana Toraja: How to Embed it on Muslim Children in Islamic Education Perspective
The purpose of this study was to determine the process of cultivating siri’ cultural values, developing Islamic education in Muslim children in Tana Toraja, also looking at the opportunities and challenges on the cultivation of siri’ cultural values in Muslim children in Tana Toraja, The research method used is qualitative research with a naturalistic type. The research location is in Sangalla, Tana Toraja Regency. The data collection method uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the result of the research and the discussions found, siri’s cultural values for Muslim children in Tana Toraja towards Muslim children aged 7-18 years are continuous, individually carried out in the household environment and groups carried out in the school community. They are planting siri’ cultural values for Muslim children in Tana Toraja in line with Islamic education. Opportunities in cultivating siri’ cultural values for Muslim children in Tana Toraja through socio-cultural/customs environment, dakwah, education activities, and religious harmony are maintained. Siri’s cultural values’ challenges are the lack of Da’i/ Muballigh and Islamic Education Teachers, customs, and dakwah competition
Developing School Information Program: Integrated Management System based on Character Value at SMP Negeri 9 Tapung
This research aims to develop a student data management system at 9 Tapung Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 9 Tapung, which has not documented using a computer or school web using text-based programming languages like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP. The student information system design at SMP Negeri 9 Tapung in its manufacture uses a literacy methodology where each phase can be carries repeatedly until it gets the desired results. The phase of system manufacture is the investigation, analysis, design, and implementation. To make this application, the author uses PHP and MySQL. This development research results create a student information system application that can display school data, student data, which graphics form, and its development, including data on the development of honesty and discipline. The system also displays the student interests and talents observed, extracurricular activities, student violations, and achievement. This application still needs development, refinement, the addition of features, and suggestions, and criticism from all related parties to create a better and structured information system to improve the quality and character of SMP Negeri 9 Tapung
Learning Evaluation Management: Improving The Quality of Graduates in State Islamic Institute of Palopo
The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of learning evaluation management in improving the quality of graduates at the Palopo State Islamic Institute. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with pedagogical, juridical, and sociological approaches. The objects in the study were academic implementers and students, and the instruments used were observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. The results showed that the learning evaluation management at IAIN Palopo consisted of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating programs. At the planning stage, the academic side prepares every need for learning evaluation, then holds the schedule by referring to the academic calendar and arranges the place for lectures, at the evaluation stage, the UTS and UAS are supervised by a lecturer or lecturer who teaches the subject in question. Constraints in learning evaluation management include; the incomplete several course material so that it affects planning; besides that, some students who have not received a score in the previous semester (comprehensive examination), in the organizational aspect, some lecturers are late in entering exam questions. Some have even tested the material but did not provide information to the study program/faculty, aspects of the facilities that have less influence on organizing learning evaluation. Obstacles in the implementation of the evaluation are the lack of student preparation in facing exams, the existence of cheating by students during the exam, and the constraints on program evaluation, namely the absence of a set time in evaluating the program
How the Distance Learning can be a Solution during the Covid-19 Pandemic
This study investigates the implemented distance learning system from home as the Indonesian government's policy slogans during the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of various distance learning system platforms currently available adjusted to the learning process's needs to carry out provides a solution to break the chain of spreading COVID-19 in Indonesia. The research using a literature review that consists of four stages, namely (1) Identification of research topic keywords, (2) identification of abstracts from various literature sources, (3) making notes of identification results, and (4) link notes periodically. Based on the results and discussion, distance learning is an effective solution to continuing the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it does not allow direct learning in the classroom. However, to increase distance learning success, various considerations are needed, such as infrastructure, teacher and student readiness, and expected learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers as an essential factor in the achievement of the learning process, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, must be able to create and provide usefully and not dull learning conditions, one of which is by trying to use various learning models platforms such as Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Forms, Jitsi Meet App, Whatsapp Groups and more
Poverty's Effects on the Ability to Engage with Education Actively: A Case Study of the Access and Participation Plan
The research investigates and understands how poverty creates risk and affects the ability to actively engage with education using a case study from an alternative provider's perspective—the research considered case study methods where data was collected using the qualitative research approach. The collection of data used data triangulation (focus groups and interviews of the students and senior staff members) using open-ended questions at the undergraduate level. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to assess the impact poverty has on educational attainment. Different ethical aspects and challenges were considered during the research process to ensure anonymity, confidentiality, power, and authority. Based on the case study research, the institution developed their five years strategic plan, which submitting to the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and also Office for Students (OFS) for their approval. The institution also introduced the Employers' Forum, which will continue to be effectively utilizing to enhance the student experience and retention and progression rates. The research only considered one case study institution and thus was limited to the data set. The research could have produced a comparative study if more institutions were choosing with a more significant data set
Humanist Education: Its Implementation on Scavengers Children’s at TPA Mancani Palopo City
This study aims to determine the models and constraints of humanistic education carried out by educators for the child scavengers in the garbage dumps in Palopo City. This research is qualitative research for disclosing facts—Miles and Huberman's analysis using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that: Education of scavenger children at TPA Mancani, Palopo City is more directed to public and religious educational institutions outside the garbage dumps area, educational guidance on Sundays at church for those who are Christian while those who are Muslim get an education at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ); humanist education is developing in Sunday schools with the concept of primary religious education, regular discussions, counseling, the formation of work and study groups with materials consisting of: beliefs, politeness/ethics, and memorizing verses. The methods used include: exemplary and discipline, habituation, advice and guidance, deliberation and discussion, stories or stories, as well as balancing the giving of praise and punishment; The obstacles faced in implementing humanist education for child scavengers at TPA Mancani Palopo City include; the recruitment as fostered children in Sunday School, the lack of support from parents, child scavengers feel that their freedom is losing after entering school, and not guarantee their worthiness of life. Another obstacle is the limited number of assistants of child scavengers, limited facilities, infrastructure, funds, and the character traits of scavenger children that are difficult to change
