    Maritime Defense Strategy Education as an Effort of the Indonesian Government in Maintaining Maritime Security

    To establish good maritime governance, the Indonesian government must pay attention to maritime security aspects in every maritime policy and integrate maritime security education into the national education curriculum. However, implementing the World Maritime Axis concept, the Indonesian government still needs to consider the maritime security perspective as a top priority. The ultimate goal of good maritime governance development should include the strength of the Navy as the most important supporting element and the implementation of maritime security training and education for Indonesian maritime society. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration in addressing maritime security issues through the implemented maritime security training and education programs. The research method used is qualitative descriptive by using secondary data from a literature review and interpretation found in previous journal articles, with data collection techniques through literature study. The study results indicate that addressing maritime security issues requires hard and soft efforts from the government, including implementing maritime security training and education programs for Indonesian maritime society and integrating maritime security education into the national education curriculum

    Transition to Academic Probation: A Phenomenological Inquiry

    Academic probation implementation in higher education institutions aims to ensure that students are meeting academic standards and making satisfactory progress toward their degree or program requirements. It serves as a warning to students not meeting these standards that their academic performance needs improvement. Hence, the purpose of this study was to unveil the lived experiences of board program students who have undergone probation period. The study is qualitative research utilizing the phenomenological approach. This research used purposive sampling. The participating ten board program students were identified and divided equally for in-depth interviews and focus group discussion. The data gathered were analyzed through the use of coding and thematic analysis. Results revealed from responses regarding their experiences: (1) the feeling of self-doubt, (2) gained focus due to limited units, (3) fear of judgment, (4) being challenged to strive more, and (5) kept on blaming the self. In response to the challenges they have encountered, they emphasized the following coping mechanisms as essential: (6) gaining motivation from significant others, (7) managing time properly, (8) becoming optimistic, and (9) having an attitude of acceptance. Also, upon reflecting on their overall experiences, they highlighted the following insights: (10) never giving up, taking full responsibility amidst results, (11) challenging policy with a purpose, (12) making self-realizations, and (13) avoiding taking advantage. The results implied that there are certain interventions to be made within the institution to extend assistance to the students’ situations, such as tutorial sessions, and enhance the guidelines of the academic probation policy to strengthen collaboration with its stakeholders. This study is therefore deemed significant as this highly contributes to the body of knowledge related to academic probation policy implementation by higher education institutions

    Adolescence Students’ Critical Thinking Skills in The Context of Christian Education

    The purpose of this study is to assess the critical thinking skills of adolescence students at junior high schools in Rantepao, particularly in the context of Christian education. This study employed a quantitative design research and using proportionate stratified random sampling method to select the sample. There are 66 students became the sample of this study. Data were collected through questionnaire that assessed the students' critical thinking skills based on the critical thinking indicators. The collected data then analyzed by using descriptive statistics calculation related to the variables of critical thinking skills. Result of this study found that adolescnence students at Junior High School in Rantepao have only a fair level of critical thinking skills in the context of Christian Education. This study highlights the need for improving students' critical thinking skills in the context of Christian Education. Teacher should foster students growth by growth by focusing on their learning process and offering appropriate activities.

    The Influence of Knowledge Aspects of The Multicultural on The Implementation of Multicultural Education in Elementary Schools

    This study examines the knowledge level of Multicultural Education among national school teachers in Negeri Sembilan. This study was conducted on 927 teachers who teach in national-type schools in Negeri Sembilan. This study aims to identify the influence of knowledge about multicultural education from content integration knowledge, knowledge construction, equity pedagogy, prejudice reduction and knowledge of school cultural empowerment and social structure on implementing multicultural education in primary schools. It is quantitative survey research. The questionnaire was distributed to 927 respondents consisting of teachers who teach in national-type schools in Negeri Sembilan. The data of this study was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 26.0. Two types of statistics are used, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation are used to describe the profile of the respondents and answer the research questions.     Enhancing Assertiveness Through Traditional Turkish Folk Dance

    The present study investigates the effects of assertiveness training programs through folk dances on high school students’ assertiveness levels. Pre-test post-test with control group design has been used to examine. Furthermore, a questionnaire including one open-ended question asked students to learn their opinion on training and its effects on themselves. Experiment and control group participants were administered the Rathus Assertiveness Inventory, and experiment group participants received a two–hour assertiveness training program through folk dances per week over eight weeks. The study sample included 203 students who were in first grade in the same school. Results revealed that students in the experiment group had significantly higher assertiveness levels than those in the control group (P<0.05), and experiment group students defined that this assertiveness training program positively affected them and increased their awareness about themselves

    Accounts of Culled Out Students from Board Programs: A Phenomenological Inquiry

    The Culling System in every higher education institution ensures that only students who meet specific academic or performance standards remain in the program, which helps uphold the program's standards and effectiveness. Thus, this study aims to delve into the lived experiences of the students who were culled out from the board programs offered by the Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology in which qualitative research utilizing a phenomenological approach was utilized. The participants were the 14 students who were culled out from the board programs being offered by Kapalong College of Agriculture, Sciences and Technology who were purposively selected. Further, there were five (5) participants for the in-depth interview and another five (5) for the focus group discussion. The data gathered were analyzed through the use of coding and thematic analysis. The study is deemed beneficial since it can provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of culling practices in board programs wherein higher authorities can use this information to evaluate existing policies and programs related to student retention and support. It may lead to identifying potential flaws or areas for improvement in the current system

    Implementation of Inspirative Models of Guidance and Counseling Services Curriculum Independent at Inspiring School

    This study aims to determine the implementation of an inspirational model for Guidance and Counseling services in one of the Inspiring Schools, namely SMP Negeri 16 Banjarmasin. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects included school principals as the Inspiring School program implementers, Grade 7 Guidance, Counseling teachers as independent curriculum implementers, and two learning committee teachers. Data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The study results show that implementing Guidance and Counseling using the Inspirational BK service model shows that the collaboration between Guidance and Counseling teachers and subject teachers is more intensive when implementing the independent curriculum. Guidance and Counseling service values ​​refer to the profile of Pancasila students. Therefore, guidance and counseling teachers are also involved in planning and implementing projects to strengthen Pancasila student profiles. However, the teacher's understanding of the achievements of Guidance and Counseling services in phase D needs to be further strengthened. Barriers experienced due to teacher training in the implementation of inspirational service models are still limited, so Guidance and Counseling teachers try to independently develop the implementation of inspirational guidance and counseling service models. References to implementing Guidance and Counseling services in the independent curriculum in Inspiring schools from independent teaching platforms and other sources are also limited

    Management of Santri Moral Education at the Modern Islamic Boarding School

    Methodologically this research is qualitative research by searching, analyzing, and interpreting the data found through document studies, interviews, and observations. The data that has been collected is checked for validity through data validity standards in the form of trustworthiness, transferability, reliability, and certainty. The data analysis technique reduces, presents, and draws conclusions from the research results. The results of the research are 1. The planning of moral education at the Babussa'adah Bajo Modern Islamic Boarding School since its inception has placed morals as a top priority in the da'wah movement and its education, 2. Organizing is done by determining the duties, responsibilities, authorities, and work mechanisms to achieve the objectives. Achieved, 3. Implementing moral education at the Babussa'adah Bajo Modern Islamic Boarding School places moral perfection as the main target in the moral education process, 4. The supervision of the moral education of students is carried out with the extended family of the Islamic boarding school, the local community, and the parents of students, 5. Evaluation of moral education at the Babussa'adah Bajo Modern Islamic Boarding School showed a significant increase, especially in its application in everyday life both in the Islamic boarding school environment and the family environment. Babussa'adah Bajo Modern Islamic Boarding School places moral perfection as the main target in the Islamic education process, and the target that becomes a reference in moral education is to produce outputs that can serve as role models for the community

    Towards Liberating Education: A Proposed Rights-based Instructional Planning Approach for Teaching Higaonon Learners in the Philippines

    This study proposes a rights-based instructional planning approach for teachers serving indigenous learners, particularly those assigned to schools in Higaonon communities (IPEd). The content of the paper focuses on the following:(1) assumptions about Higaonon indigenous learners; (2) components of the right-based instructional planning approach; and (3) facilitating and hindering factors that may affect the implementation of the right-based instructional planning approach. The researcher used an exploratory research design to develop the proposed planning approach. It was conducted in Higaonon communities in the Municipality of Esperanza, Agusan Del Sur, Philippines. The responses of the selected school officials, IPEd teachers, Higaonon tribal leaders, parents, students, and external stakeholders. The responses of the selected school officials, IPEd teachers, Higaonon tribal leaders, parents, students, and external stakeholders. This paper strongly believes that shifting from a culture-based to right-based IPEd teaching approach is expected to lay down positive changes in all aspects of life for indigenous learners, including social, economic, education, civic, and political, as they begin to understand and protect the inherent rights to ancestral domains, cultural integrity, self-governance, and social justice which are accounted for them. The early inculcation of Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) law into their identity formation through school curriculum is projected to eradicate all forms of discrimination, exclusion, alienation, disintegration, and vulnerabilities in mainstream societies

    The Integration of Digital Technology in Public Management Transformation: : Implications for Educational Advancements in Indonesia

    The study aims to explore how integrating digital tools and platforms in public management practices can enhance educational outcomes and address the challenges faced by the Indonesian education system.  The research methodology employs a qualitative approach, including interviews with key stakeholders, document analysis, and case studies.  The results indicate that digital technology can revolutionize teaching and learning methods, promote student engagement, and facilitate access to quality educational resources. However, infrastructure gaps, teacher training, and equitable access to technology remain key concerns. The implications of this study emphasize the need for strategic planning, policy development, and investment in digital infrastructure and teacher professional development programs to effectively leverage digital technology in transforming public management and advancing education in Indonesia
