The Value of Santri in Political Moments: an Identity
Get PDFNahdlatul Ulama (NU) is one of the largest religious organizations in Indonesia. The santri community that is very identical to NU has contributed to Indonesia's development. When viewed from history, Santri were actively involved in Indonesian politics. The contribution of the santri is seen in various strategic positions of the country. The purpose of this study was to determine the attitude of the santri identity in political moments. This study uses a case study method to determine the process and central dynamics of santri in political activity. Semi-structured interviews were used to determine the identity construction of two subjects who had different backgrounds, but both were NU members who were raised in the santri tradition. The results showed that the santri's attitude did not have a particular patron/command and was amoeba/spread in various positions. Santri builds a unique identity as pride and has more value than other groups. Another result shows that political activity is considered an activity in worship
The Patterns of Memorizing Qur'an for Primary School Students and the Management of Pesantren Tahfidz

The world of pesantren is an educational learning environment that effectively shapes the thinking and mentality of students effectively. Complete physical facilities such as buildings, learning environments, playgrounds or curricula and educational resources (asaatidz) that accompany 24 hours for the students intensively. The students are also protected from the temptation of contemporary social media which tends to have a negative impact during the education process on Pesantren, especially at an early age. The Madinatul Quran Islamic boarding school, which is located in Pecangaan, the South coast area in coastal Java, is interesting to be studied because the integration of this educational institution is the provision of Tahfidz Alquran for small children who are also study at formal education, Islamic primary school or state or primate primary school.
This study applied the perspective of management of Islamic boarding schools by using qualitative approach. Some informants as primary data sources were the founders and administrators of Islamic boarding schools. The data was collected through in-depth interview observation methods and observations at the pesantren. Another method is the collection of documentation as a secondary data source in this Madinatul Quran Islamic boarding school.
From various analyzes of the data in this study, it is found that the application of innovative methods from the teachers in the pattern of memorizing the Quran for primary school children. The two patterns of management of pesantren which are managed professionally and supported by various parties, especially on the pesantren facilities and the appreciation for human resources, the achievements of the students at the Madinatul Quran Pati Selatan pesantren

Halal certification requirements on food products are also a country protection effort against consumers. Consumers have the right to know the content of food and beverages they will consume. During this time, halal certification is synonymous with Muslim community needs. However, it is not only Muslims who have religious rules regarding food. For example, Christians and Hindus also have rules regarding food. Indonesia as a multicultural-multireligious country, should attention to this diversity. If the certification of halal products only targets the needs of Muslims only, then how with non-Muslim consumer protection efforts related to their right to know the content of food, cosmetics and medicines are not contradictory Their religious. This research is a research library with a normative juridical approach. This research aims to give readers an understanding of the principles related to halal certification, especially on food products. The research is also important to provide an understanding of the relationship between halal certification and transparency of food product composition with the fulfillment of Muslim and non-Muslim consumer rights
Contribution of Syaikh Muhammad Mahfuzh Al-Tarmasi in the Development of Intellectual-Spiritual Pesantren in Indonesia in the 20th Century

Shaykh Muhammad Mahfuzh al-Tarmasi who became one of the archipelago scholars who teach at the Haram Mosque was noted to have a major role in the development pesantren intellectual-spiritual in the archipelago in the 20th century AD Even though Indonesia at that time was still overshadowed by colonialism, but through its guidance to students in Mecca made a major contribution in improving the intellectual-spiritual boarding schools in the archipelago so that Indonesia was free from colonialism. Therefore, this research becomes important to know how the contribution of Shaykh Muhammad Mahfuzh al-Tarmasi in the intellectual-spiritual development in Indonesian pesantren in the 20th century AD. This study is a qualitative research with a historical approach. The results of this study stated that Shaykh Muhammad Mahfuzh al-Tarmasi contributed greatly to the development of the intellectual-spiritual boarding schools in Indonesia through his teaching to Indonesian students studying at the Haram Mosque and intensive coaching that combined fikriyah and ruhiyah to his students

The policy on Halal Product Certification in Indonesia has been formally regulated in the Constitution Republic of Indonesia No. 33 of 2014 concerning Guaranteed Halal Products and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 31 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee. The issuance of the policy received various responses and caused various polemics in the community, among the responses and polemics that arose in the community was the rejection of the implementation of the policy caused by the lack of readiness of micro and medium enterprises in carrying out the policy, disrupted economic stability due to the number of UMKM that have not been carry out these obligations, as well as other polemics that lead to the unpreparedness of this regulation to be enforced compulsorily to all business actors and the products they produce, most of the responses and polemics arising from several business community communities lead to negative assessments of regulations determined by the government. Apart from these polemics, this research was conducted to see the positive side of the halal certification policy in the perspective of protecting the benefit of the people, this research is a descriptive qualitative research that results in a conclusion that the policy of halal product certification has a positive side relating to the protection of the benefit of the people and deserves for all parties to strive for its implementation

Abstrak
Kebijakan Sertifikasi Produk Halal di Indonesia secara formal telah diatur dalam Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia No. 33 Tahun 2014 tentang Jaminan Produk Halal Dan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia No. 31 Tahun 2019 tentang Pelaksanaan Undang-Undang No. 33 Tahun 2014 tentang Jaminan Produk Halal. Diterbitkannya kebijakan tersebut mendapatkan berbagai respon dan menimbulkan berbagai polemik di masyarakat, di antara respon dan polemik yang timbul dimasyarakat adalah penolakan atas pemberlakukan kebijakan tersebut yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya kesiapan usaha kecil mikro dan menengah dalam menjalankan kebijakan itu, terganggunya stabilitas ekonomi karena banyaknya UMKM yang belum melaksanakan kewajiban tersebut, serta polemik lainnya yang mengarah pada belum siapnya peraturan ini untuk diberlakukan secara wajib kepada seluruh pelaku usaha dan produk yang dihasilkannya, sebagian besar tanggapan dan polemik yang timbul dari beberapa komunitas pelaku usaha mengarah pada penilaian negatif atas regulasi yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah. Tidak terlepas dari berbagai polemik tersebut, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat sisi positif dari kebijakan sertifikasi halal dalam perspekstif perlindungan kemaslahatan umat, penelitian ini merupakan penelian kualitatif deskriptif yang menghasilkan sebuah kesimpulan bahwa kebijakan sertifikasi produk halal memiliki sisi positif yang berkaitan dengan perlindungan kemaslahatan umat dan patut untuk diperjuangkan pelaksanaannya oleh semua pihak.

The Thoughts of KH. Bisri Mustofa’s Moral Education and its Relevance with Development of Character Building
Get PDFThis study aims to describe the thoughts of K.H. Bisri Mustofa’s moral education in the books of Mitro Sejati and Ngudi Susilo and its relevance with the development of character building in Indonesia. To describe the concept of moral education in the aforementiod books, content analysis was used to grasp the main messages of the books. The finding showed that the thoughts of K.H. Bisri Mustofa’s moral education were relevant with the development of character building proclaimed by the government. The relevancyecould be found in the foundational thinking about moral education contended by K.H. Bisri Mustofa and character education in Indonesia, encompassing the importance of humanism in social interaction, moral degradation among adolescents, and the erosion of Eastern culture by Western culture. Relevance was also found in the five main character values that were prioritized in the implementation of the development of character building in which each value is relevant to KH. Bisri Mustofa. These values include religious, integrity, nationalist, independent, and mutual cooperation
The Existence of Pesantren: Implication Study of Pesantren Leadership Regeneration in Central Java

The differences of competencies among their successors contributed to the decreasing of pesantren development. This research is conducted to answer the issue of sustainability in the leadership regeneration system of pesantrens in Central Java, and its implications to sustaining pesantren. Data is collected using interview, observation and documentation. The research indicated that regeneration system in pesantren have three typologies: genealogy, professional, and genealogy-professional. Pesantren salaf or traditional pesantren use genealogy, modern pesantren use professional, and semi-modern pesantren use genealogy-professional. The research had information also regarding how to sustain the pesantren and showed that the leader of pesantren salaf try to hardly keep the founding father values particularly to be adapted in the educational curriculum. Modern pesantren use a modern managerial system to sustain their institution, while semi-modern pesantren keep the development by building various educational institution

Kitab Kuning and Javanese Language Maintenance in Pondok Pesantren Al-Falah Salafi Brebes
Get PDFThis study reveals the role of Pesantren and Kitab Kuning in maintaining Javanese Language. This focus on how the Javanese language maintenance process through the transmission of cultural values and learning at the Pesantren Al-Falah Salafi Brebes and other supporting factors of the Javanese language maintenance process. This qualitative research uses a sociolinguistic approach. The type of data is the form of socio-cultural words and expressions, learning curricula, and Javanese language maintenance programs in Pesantren. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and document study. Data analysis technique is done by identifying, classifying and interpreting the data. The results showed that the process of maintaining Javanese language takes place on several ways: 1) Learning Kitab Kuning through Sorogan, Bandongan, Pasaran methods. 2) Tradition of dialogue through Khitobahan, Majlis Orda and Bahtsul Masail. 3) Personification of Kiai with the necessity to use Javanese language, and 4) Formal and informal communication. All these activities make Javanese language be maintained in Pesantren
