The literal translations of the terms "Rasa" and "Ayana" are "Dhatu" and "Path," respectively. Hence, Rasayana refers to Rasa and its motion inside the body. Rasayana\u27s role in the body is to nourish each cell and tissue. Ahara Rasa serves as the raw ingredient. Stanya, the Prasada baga of Madhura rasa and Rasa dhatu, is created during the digestion of food. Ideal milk must have normal Prakrthi Varna, Gandha, Rasa, and Sparsha entirely dissolved in water due to its watery nature. Acharya Charaka asserts that Godughdha has 10 Gunas, which are similar to the Gunas of Ojas. Ojas, a crucial Dhatu in our bodies, enlarges as a result of this. Go ksheera is referred to as Shrestha Rasayana because it is the finest Jeevaniya Padartha. Goksheera is regarded as the best Rasayana dravya since it may be used by individuals of all ages as a part of a healthy diet and as a dietary supplement. Ghrita is composed of the following elements: Pitta-nilaharam, Rasa, Shukra, and Ojo Hitam; Niravapanam; Mrdukaram; Swaravarna Prasadanam; Kapha Medo Vivardhanam; Smruthi Budhi vardhakam; and Agni vardhakam as per Acharya Charaka. Rasayana Dravya can be appropriately ingested to encourage the normal growth and expansion of Sapta Dhatu, which in turn raises Ojas. Ojas are raised as a result of the regeneration of biological tissues and cells. It is common knowledge that the developing world has a higher risk of infectious diseases due to increased pollution, bad lifestyle choices, fast food consumption, unhygienic living conditions, and improper eating habits. In the present study, we will collect the scientific facts to re-establish the statement ‘Ksheeraghrtaabhyaso Rasayananaam’ to know the effects of regular intake of ghee and milk in the diet for rejuvenation and longevity of life

In this article an effort is made to highlight a disciplined protocol in view of ancient Acharyas regarding appropriate Aahara and Vihara for a disease-free society

    Get PDF
Cholelithiasis or gall stones is one of the most common diseases of biliary tree. Modern medicine majorly relies on surgical management of the disease as conservative treatment is usually futile. Although, Ayurvedic sciences has no mention of gallstones but the contextual representation of stones comes under Bastigata Ashmari (renal calculi). After thoroughly revising Ayurvedic texts, we discover that the bile secreted from gallbladder can correspond to Accha Pitta mentioned in Ayurveda due to its similarity in location and function. Case Report: A 64-year-old male patient approached with complaints of heaviness of abdomen, mild-to-moderate intermittent abdomen pain, nausea and with ultrasonography report which was suggestive of chronic cholecystitis with cholelithiasis measuring 0.44cm. Conclusion: The patient was diagnosed with Pittashmari and Ayurvedic treatment protocol was followed for approx. 2 months resulting in dissolution of stone and relief in signs and symptoms. Hence our article is a step further for understanding and pursuing conventional and non-surgical management of cholelithiasis

Rasashastra is the Iatrochemistry of Ayurveda which deals with the various pharmaceutical processes of Shodhana (purification/potentiation), Marana (incineration/calcination), Jarana (polling), Murchhana (a procedure by which substances especially mercury is transformed for therapeutic application) and other detail description of metals, minerals, poisonous plants and animal products which are of therapeutic importance in Ayurveda. Satvapatana is one of the processes of Rasashastra for achieving the Satva (essence) of metals and minerals from their original source. The main objective of Satvapatana is to obtain the active component of ore and to minimise the dose of Dhatu without lowering its efficacy for therapeutic uses. The process of Satvapatana was first described by Acharya Nagarjuna in Rasendra Mangala. It has also been mentioned in other classical texts such as Anandakanda, Rasarnava, Rasa Hridaya Tantra, Rasendra Chudamani, Rasa Ratna Samucchayam, Rasa Tarangini. Satvapatana occurs in two stages which are Beejavarta and Shuddhavarta. Beejavarta indicates the melting of material and Shuddhavarta indicates the time for extraction of Satva. Satva of the different drugs is of different colours. The basic requirements for Satvapatana include Satvayukta Dravyas, Dravaka Varga, Musha, Koshti etc. Satva after extracting out is again subjected to Shodhana, Mridukarana and Marana processes to use for various therapeutic purposes. Mridukarana process is mentioned only in the case of Abhraka Satvapatana. Various uses of Satvas are mentioned in different classical texts such as Abhraka Satva for Charan and Jarana of mercury, Makshika Satva for Dehaveda and Lohaveda, Tuvari Satva for Bandhana of Rasa and Uparasa, Tuttha Satva and Bhunaga Satva for relieving pain, in wound healing etc. Satvapatana is an utmost process of Rasashastra not only for therapeutic uses but also for processing of mercury
