    Get PDF
The most common benign uterine tumours affecting women in reproductive and perimenopausal stages are fibroids or leiomyomas. There is strong evidence that estrogen and progesterone promote the growth of fibroids, despite the fact that their exact aetiology is still unclear. This is because fibroids seldom arise before menarche and retreat after menopause. The most prevalent reason for hysterectomy is fibroids. Menorrhagia, polymenorrhoea, metrorrhagia, intermenstrual bleeding, infertility, repeated abortions, pain and pressure feelings, abdominal lumps, and vaginal discharge are a few of the symptoms they exhibit clinically. In Ayurveda there is no exact correlation for uterine fibroid. Fibroids can be considered as Mamsa Grandhis, one among the Grandhis described by Charaka and Vagbhata. They increase the surface area of the endometrial tissue in the uterus when present, causing excessive bleeding, pressure feelings, dysmenorrhea, and even infertility. Vata-Kapha predominant Tridoshas have a role in the aetiology of the Granthi Roga, necessitating the use of Vata-kaphahara medicines. As Granthi can also be caused by Mandagni, in Granthi chikitsa we can make use of Dravyas that are Deepana pachana. According to Acharya Susrutha, Sopha Chikitsa is included in the Apakwa Granthi chikitsa. In Mamsa granthi chikitsa, Shothagna, Lekhana, Chedhana, and Vatanulomana dravyas may be utilised. Asrigdara chikitsa and Raktapitta chiktsa can be used to treat fibroids when heavy, prolonged menstrual cycles are present. A 38 year old lady was presented with complaints of heavy, prolonged bleeding during menstruation along with lower abdomen pain. On USG she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Guggulu tikitakam kashayam was given for 3 months and after follow up symptoms were evaluated. She was relieved from prolonged heavy bleeding during menstruation and lower abdomen pain. From this case report, it is evident that Guggulu tiktakam kashayam is effective in uterine fibroid

She was treated with selected Panchakarma treatments and specific Samana oushadhis. There was significant improvement in the symptoms which was assessed using relevant tools like VAS score for pain, goniometer for range of movement and Oxford Hip score for assessment of function and pain in hip. The present case study documents that Panchakarma procedures and Samana oushadhis can be effective in AVN and improve the quality of life of patient

Chronic liver disease (CLD) poses a significant global health challenge and has become a primary cause of mortality worldwide. The development of CLD can be attributed to various factors, such as alcohol abuse, obesity and metabolic disorders, autoimmune hepatitis, and viral hepatitis. This case series explores the clinical journey and combined Ayurvedic treatments used for patients with CLD, aiming to integrate various holistic approaches to enhance overall well-being and potentially achieve remission in CLD. Data were collected at Patanjali Wellness Center, Patanjali Yogpeeth II, Haridwar, from June 2023 to December 2023. In this period of 6 months, we had taken 4 cases of chronic liver disease from IPD. The cases that we found are in the age range of 40 to 60 years. The pre- and post-treatment data on the patient’s outcomes were studied over a period of 6 months, followed by a continuous 3-month follow-up. In this case series, a positive and effective outcome was observed through a holistic strategy. After undergoing treatment, the patient\u27s symptoms showed a noteworthy alleviation of CLD-related symptoms. Simultaneously, the patient\u27s quality of life improved. Their liver function test also showed balanced parameters. At present, they are leading a normal and fulfilling life. The collective impact of these alternative therapies played a significant role in the patient\u27s notable recovery from CLD. Nevertheless, further investigation and exploration are necessary to facilitate larger-scale clinical trials in this area

One of the most widely used Ayurvedic dosage forms is Sneha Kalpana. An Oleaginous Medication is prepared through a pharmaceutical process, includes heating of materials (Drava Dravyas, Kwatha, Kalka) in a prescribed pattern for a preordain duration. This process ensures the extraction of chemical constituents into an oil or fat base. Acharya Sushruta mentioned Ropana Taila in Sutrasthana Ch36/25, which has wound healing activity. It contains Haridra, Agaru, Daruharidra, Devdaru, Priyangu, Agaru, Lodhra, Tagara, and Tila Taila. Aim: The aim of the study was to standardize the pharmaceutical process, perform possible analytical parameters and its modification into ointment with suitable excipients. Methods: The general method of preparation of Taila Paka according to the classical text has followed for the preparation of Ropana Taila. An attempt has made to develop suitable dosage foam, an ointment from Ropana Taila. The preliminary analysis of raw materials and Ropana Taila has carried out with reference to the API standards. Possible evaluation parameters of the ointment have studied. Result: Physico-chemical parameters for Ropana Taila included specific gravity, which founded 0.9128, refractive index 1.471, viscosity 37.85, iodine value 110; acid value 4.1, and saponification value 182.33 has noted. HPTLC showed variable numbers of spots when visualized at 254nm, 366nm, and 510nm wavelengths. pH, spreadability, extrudability of ointment founded 6.5, 78mm, good respectively. Conclusion: The ratio adopted for the preparation of Ropana Taila ointment has found suitable as the ointment fulfilled the evaluation parameters for the quality of the ideal ointment
