State-Owned Enterprise Partnership Program as a Form of Corporate Social Responsibility to Small and Medium Enterprises
State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) have a very important role in the implementation of the national economy in order to realize the welfare of the people. SOEs are seen as having a strategic role in fostering and developing private and cooperative businesses. The government through its regulations has mandated SOEs to participate in assisting the government in implementing the development policies that have been outlined, this is as mandated in Article 88 of Law no. 19 Year 2003 on SOEs, which in the article instructs SOEs to set aside a parcel of their net benefit for the reason of cultivating little businesses and cooperatives as well as cultivating the community around the company. The existence of the provisions of Article 88 means that SOEs are not only looking for profit, but also must play an active role in developing and fostering small businesses and cooperatives, so SOEs will have the responsibility Corporate social responsibility that can be sued is the same as other private companies in Indonesia
The Development of Cross-faculty/University Integrated Social Science Learning Model in the Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Medan
The development of Industrial Revolution 4.0 has implications for all areas, including education. One of the emerging indicators is the application of the independent learning curriculum. Every human being has the right to learn wherever and whenever this is in accordance with the conceptual application of the curriculum. This research aims to develop an integrated social science learning model between faculties/universities that will be used to succeed in the independent learning curriculum at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Medan State University (FIS Unimed). The research is research and development in the field of education that uses data collection techniques using documentation studies, interviews, and workshops, the data sources used are lecturers and students of FIS Unimed. The research stage refers to the R&D research stage (Gall, Borg, & Gall,) [5], the stages performed include: 1) Research Planning 2) Subject Determination Model 3) Preparing Learning Tools for Model 4 Courses)) Input Course Content into LMS 5) Testing (simulation) and evaluation of Content 6) Follow-up improvements 7) Dissemination. The results of the analysis show that the development of model courses as part of the integrated social science learning model across faculties/universities in preparation for independent learning in FIS Unimed based on 4 criteria for learning models, namely 1)field-based learning in the Anthropology education Study Program 2) practice-based learning in the Geography Education Study Program 3) seminar-based learning in the Historical Education Study Program and 4) attitude-based learning in the Civic Education Study Program is very practical. The average practicality score of this model is based on students 'and lecturers' responses was 85, which categorized as very practical. Thus, the learning model course that has been developed will be used as a prototype for other courses at FIS Unimed in the framework of implementing the curriculum for independent learning in the future
Spelling Worktext and Performance of Grade 11 Students of Esperanza National High School
This study examined the level of achievement in Spelling of the Grade 11 students of Esperanza National High School and acceptability of the Rule-based Spelling Worktext Module in helping the students improve their spelling competencies. It employed experimental design and utilized 50 students to the control group and 50 students to compose the experimental group. For the experimental group, the researcher used the Rule-based Spelling Worktext while Copy-Only Method was applied to the control group. After allotted weeks for spelling instruction, a post- test was conducted to see if there are significant differences on the performance of students in spelling in control and experimental groups. To solve, analyze and interpret the result of the study, percentages, mean, and z-test were used. Study showed that the acceptability level of the Rule-based Spelling Worktext based on its content, relevance and instructional aspect were all described as “Excellent.” The z-test results showed that the spelling performance of the students from the control and experimental groups was the same in pre-test but not significantly the same in post-test. This implied that the experimental group of students showed significant improvement in the post-test than in control group. This improvement in their performance in spelling could be credited to the Rule-based Spelling Worktext which was used with the experimental group in teaching spelling
Utilization of Financial Resources and Development of School Facilities and Services for Students and Teachers of Esperanza National High School
This study is a descriptive correlational study which determined the impact of the utilization of financial resources on the development of school facilities and services for students and teachers. Teachers, Supreme Student Council (SSG) Officers, class mayors, student athletes, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Officers, disbursing officer, bookkeeper and supply officer were the respondents of this study. They gave a reliable information regarding the utilization of financial resources. Findings revealed that Maintence and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), Special Education Fund (SEF) and other financial resources were well implemented and the development they have given to the school facilities and services for students and teachers was very satisfactory. Effective utilization of MOOE increased the positive perceptions of the respondents about the welfare and development of school facilities and services for students and teachers in terms of academic achievement and other school performance indicators. Thus, MOOE and SEF should be utilized according to the approved budget where the teachers, PTA officers and School Governing Council (SGC) members will be part of the budget hearing. School administrators should involve all the teachers and some stakeholders in budget planning and implementation and should follow the budget specifications in planning and implementation to avoid diversion of funds
Teaching English to Sanitary Students
English Specific Course books should fulfill the real needs and objectives of the learners of special fields, actually in Corona arena. This study enjoyed a mixed method that evaluated the public textbook for the professional health, taught at Medical Branch. Two standard questionnaires administered in this research after piloting based on a Likert-scale evaluation checklist and Davoodi’s needs analysis questionnaire followed by an interview from the students. Data was analyzed via SPSS software version 22.0 and the findings revealed that the text book entitled “English for professional health students” was suitable for the related course from the students’ attitude, but it did not meet the students’ actual needs. Moreover, it provided valuable implications for students, teachers, syllabus developers and administrators
Effects of DynEd Reading Course on Students’ Reading Proficiency and Reading Motivation
Dynamic Education (DynEd) International Inc. is a leading provider of Interactive Language Program designed to enhance learners’ English communication skills. This study aimed to determine the effect of the DynEd’s Reading course on reading proficiency and reading motivation of the students in Mindanao State University-Maguindanao during 2nd Semester of A.Y. 2017-2018. The study was conducted with the college students taking Job Enabling English Proficiency (JEEP) Start 2 courses. Sixty students were randomly selected among the eligible students to take Reading for Success course of the DynEd courseware. In this study, single group experimental with pretest and posttest design was used. The reading section of a TOEFL and Motivation for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ) by Wang and Guthrie (2004) were used as research instruments. The results showed that before DynEd Reading course was introduced, the students’ reading proficiency level was described as low. However, after the 8-week long intervention using courseware, the students’ reading proficiency level increased to intermediate level. Moreover, the students’ intrinsic and extrinsic reading motivation level before and after the intervention were all found out to be in “motivated” level. It was also found out that comparison between the pretest and posttest in reading proficiency and intrinsic reading motivation were significant. It was then concluded that the DynEd Reading course is effective in improving the reading proficiency level and intrinsic reading motivation of the college students. The result implies that DynEd courseware is an effective tool to enhance the reading skills of the students
Analysis of Students’ Perceptions of Online Learning Media During the Covid-19 Pandemic (Study of E-learning Media: Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, and LMS)
Learning in the pandemic period requires students to be able to use a variety of online learning media. Zoom, Google meet, Google classroom, and LMS platforms are the most frequently used media. Students' behavior to use learning media is influenced by perceptions of the learning media. This study aimed to describe the ease and usefulness perceptions that students feel about the various available learning media. This research is designed as quantitative research with a survey approach. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The results show that students' perceived ease of learning media, namely Zoom, Google meet, Google classroom, and LMS, is perceived as relatively easy. Zoom is an application/platform that is considered the easiest of the other media, while LMS is considered more complicated than the other three media. Meanwhile, this study's results also show that the perspective of the usefulness of the learning media is considered to have good benefits. Zoom is the application/platform that is considered the most useful from other media, while LMS is considered less useful than the other three media
Type-2 DM and Its Complication and Relationship among the Patients at Rajshahi Diabetes Association General Hospital: Socio-demographic Characteristics
The aim of this cross-sectional study of Type-2 diabetes mellitus and its complication among the patients admitted in Rajshahi Diabetes Association General Hospital and its relationship with their socio-demographic characteristics. Total fifty (50) respondents were selected for the study. Complication of Type-2 diabetes mellitus were mainly investigated. The instrument developed by the researcher was divided into 2 sections including, 1) Demographic questionnaire. 2) Question regarding complications of type-2 diabetes mellitus patients. The main findings of this thesis are that the proportion of complication of type-2 diabetes mellitus patients. The age of the respondents which 14% were between 31-40 years of age about 30% between 41-50 years, about 40% between 51-64 years, 16% between 65-90 years. Type of family 46 (92%) were the members of nuclear family 4 (8%) were the member of joint family. This study would like to examine the respondents’ ratings of different religions who were married or divorced. Socio-economic status 74% were poor, 26& respondents were middle. For this purpose, this study would like to investigate the complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients; the ratings of nephropathy, hypertension, the loss of sensation, heart problem, homeopathy, and Kobiraji treatment
Burnout Knowledge of Female Nurses during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Study at dr. Agoesdjam Hospital in Ketapang Regency, Indonesia
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit Indonesia where the worrying situation has affected almost every all-region in Indonesia, including West Kalimantan. One of the referral hospitals for the case of COVID-19 in West Kalimantan is RSUD dr. Agoesdjam is the only one referral hospital in the Ketapang Regency area. This makes a critical situation, considering that Ketapang Regency is very large and there is only one referral hospital. The problem that arises later is the number of patients from various regions who come to check themselves at RSUD dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang, where this hospital has a limited number of doctors and health workers. This causes job burnout for health workers, where they have to work extra in monitoring and handling patients regularly in their work environment. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an exploration of primary and secondary data. Primary data refers to the interview results while secondary data comes from journal searches and online media coverage. Based on the results and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the COVID-19 situation in RSUD dr. Agoesdjam is quite worrying so that it increases the alertness of the hospital, in this case, the job burnout of health workers is increasing. The duties and responsibilities of nurses are a priority in handling COVID-19 patients and this case raises fear, worry, and energy burden and thoughts for health workers, especially nurses at RSUD dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang. Furthermore, the job burnout experienced by nurses in dealing with the COVID-19 situation is work overload, poor performance, fatigue, and reduced alertness because they are overshadowed by anxiety and worry
Semiotic Analysis of Kerja Adat Erdemu Bayu in Karonese
This research deals with Semiotic Analysis of Kerja Adat Erdemu Bayu in Karonese. This research was aimed to find out the values and meanings contained in the Karo tribe's wedding ceremony so that people do not consider the ceremonial rituals as mere obligations and customs. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from the video of the Karonese wedding ceremony on YouTube channel which uploaded on 07 May 2021 and also through interview from an elder who really understands the customs of the Karonese tribe, especially in wedding ceremonies. There were found 15 symbols, they are beka buluh (male’s hood), uis jongkit dilaki (male’s sarong), uis jujung-jujungen (veil), uis ragi barat (sarong), amak tayangen (bed mat), kalang ulu (pillows), perembah (long chloth, baby carrier), beras meciho (pure rice), naruh manuk (egg), sumpit (basket rice), uis nipes (traditional cloth), lampu terlong (oil lamp /lamp), kudin (cooking pot), manuk asuhen (hen), perkakas dapur (kitchen utensils) each of which has an interpretation in the form of advice, prayers and wishes for the bride and groom in living their domestic life
