    Development of Islamic Teachings through the Translation of the Quran in Various National Languages

    From the research on the translation of the Quran, in various countries in the center of places of worship, it is known that there are already translations so that it is hoped that it will increase interest in reading and understanding the contents of the Quran. The translation of the Quran is an interpretation of the holy book of Islam in a language other than Arabic. The Quran has been translated into most languages by the translator. The translation of the Quran has always been a troubled and difficult issue in Islamic theology. Because Muslims respect the Quran as a miracle and incomparable (i'jaz al-Quran), they argue that the Quranic text cannot be reproduced in other languages or other forms.     Analyzing the Text of the Regulation on Quarantine During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Forensic Linguistic Study

    This study aims to analyze the text of the regulations on quarantine during pandemic COVID-19. Since Indonesia reported its first case of COVID-19 in the capital, Jakarta, in early March 2020, the pandemic has impacted all sectors of lives. With the fast spread of the COVID-19, the government mandates all sectors to take the necessary actions to prevent the spread. The enactment of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine then published which is then followed by various regional regulations both at the provincial and municipal levels. Descriptive qualitative method applied in this research. The data are the Regulation Number 67 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Health Protocols in the Context of Prevention and Breaking the Chain of Spread of COVID-19 in the City of Surabaya followed by a Circular Letter Mayor of Surabaya Number 443 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Emergency Community Activities for COVID-19 in the City of Surabaya. The study found out that there was inconsistency between one article and another which tend to contradict and create ambiguity. This ambiguation leads to misunderstandings and allows violations of the rule

    Gender, Achievement, and Language Learning Strategies of Tertiary Students

    The paper aimed to determine the predominant strategies in language learning of tertiary students. It also examined the relationships between the students’ gender and their language learning strategies, the students’ achievement and the language learning strategies used according to their gender, and students’ achievement according to their gender. The researchers adopted a questionnaire which was floated to 300 first year students to gather data. The findings showed that students who were bisexuals often used metacognitive and cognitive strategies in learning English. Lesbians, on the other hand, frequently used social and compensation strategies to learn English while gays commonly employed social and meta-cognitive strategies. Male students regularly used social and memory strategies while female students often employed social and meta-cognitive strategies. It also appeared that there was significant relationship between language learning strategies used and students’ gender when it came to gay respondents only. Moreover, the study showed that language learning strategies used by the students did not influence their achievement in English. Lastly, findings revealed that the result of the mean grades of the students in their academic achievement was different from each gender. Therefore, students’ achievement in English varies according to gender

    The types of guarantee institutions known in the Indonesian legal system can be classified according to their type, nature, purpose and management. Late payment will result in a claim for the guaranteed goods. Execution is an attempt by the ruling party to seek justice through res judicata. Bank guarantees, which are individual guarantees, and trustees, which are physical guarantee institutions, have different implementation methods at the time of default. This study tries to explain the problem of comparing legal situations with bank guarantees and trustees in a normative and juridical way. The results show that The authority to enforce bank guarantees on assets belonging to debtors in default refers to Articles 1131 and 1132 of the Civil Code. According to Articles 1131 and 1132 of the Civil Code, the goods belonging to the debtor (the guarantor) are generally collateral for the debtor's debt, and the proceeds from the sale of the collateral are charged to the recipient of the guarantee

    Parenting Styles of Teen Mothers in a Selected City in Mindanao, Philippines

    The study explored the parenting styles of teen mothers in a particular city in Mindanao, Philippines. It used a descriptive cross-sectional quantitative approach specifically a survey to gather the needed data among 377 teen mothers who were chosen based on stratified random sampling. Findings revealed that parenting styles are authoritative followed by permissive, and lastly, authoritarian. Variables involved were age, civil status, family structure, ethnicity, educational attainment, and age of menarche. Moreover, using multiple regression, findings revealed that age, civil status, family structure, ethnicity, educational attainment, and age of menarche are not predictors for the parenting styles of the teen mother participants of the study

    This article tried to explain that the phenomenon of Chinese Indonesians in the eyes of Native Indonesians had received such diverse perceptions, it often seemed tendentious. However, in recent years, the view was disappeared due to a change in the term of designation stipulated in state legislation by no longer using the term Chinese, but Indonesian people of Chinese descent. The main problem of this study was how the shifting of cultural assimilation patterns had an impact on the harmonization of social relations between Chinese Indonesians and Native Indonesians in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province (viewed from a social anthropological perspective). This study was conducted using a quantitative approach with field data collection instruments using a questionnaire technique for selected informants. The results of data analysis showed that there had been a shift in the assimilation pattern of Chinese Indonesians so that it had an impact on the harmonization of social relations in the community of Pekanbaru City, Riau Province

    Students’ Views toward the Usage of Weblogs for Educational Purposes in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions

    The  aim  of  this  paper  was  to  evaluate  students’  views  toward  the  usage  of  weblogs  for educational purposes in Ondo state tertiary institutions. Three research questions were designed to guide the study. The population consisted of all undergraduates in three selected tertiary institutions in Ondo state. The sample of the study consisted of 358 respondents who were selected using convenience and purposive sampling techniques. A self-structured questionnaire was used to collect data. The result of the findings revealed that students are aware of the usage of weblogs for educational purposes. The findings revealed that students show a positive perception toward the weblog. It was also revealed that Blogs help to provide solutions to Group assignments through enhanced interaction, promote reflective learning, and enhance interaction between teachers and students. Lastly, the results of the study revealed that constraints such as inadequate electricity, bad internet facility, lack of mobile phones and personal computers, lack of relevant software, and insufficient knowledge are the constraints toward the usage of weblogs. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended among other things that administrators of tertiary institutions should create an enabling environment for intellectual exchange, aligning with tertiary institutions' curriculum to promote the use of weblogs for educational purposes. It was also recommended that Governments should install robust and reliable Internet (Wi-Fi) facilities through the Department of ICT Directorate in the tertiary institutions

    Scientific temper is an essential skill of 21st century youth. The  New Education Policy (NEP 2020) in its recommendation clearly mentioned Specific skills and abilities, such as scientific temper, creativity, communication, fitness and wellness, teamwork, problem-solving, digital literacy, ethics, and so on, will be emphasized in school. In this context each and every individual should process scientific temper for holistic development. Recently it was conducted to find out the scientific temper of high school students in relation to their gender and locality.  The current study used a descriptive survey method. The sample for the present study consisted of 112 students of 10th standard studying in government schools of Sadar block and Remuna block of Balasore District of Odisha were got as the example through stratified random sampling method.  Data was collected by using scientific temper test constructed by Elizabeth Joshua of Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. Statistical techniques like Mean, Median, S.D. and t-test to examine the data. The results of the study stated that Girls have high level of Scientific Temper compared to that of Boys, and students studying in school urban area are having high level of Scientific Temper compared to the students studying in rural area

    Eco-Literacy Citizenship Education Materials Based on Cultural Value: Research and Development Study at Universitas Negeri Medan

    This study aims to develop and validate Eco-Literacy Citizenship Education materials based on cultural value. This teaching material was developed in the Citizenship Education (PKn) subject in Higher Education. The development of teaching materials aims to strengthen citizenship competence, especially students' responsible attitudes towards various global issues such as the environment. The teaching materials developed integrate the principles of environmental awareness and the values ​​of Indonesian local wisdom. The method used is research and development (R&D) by Borg and Gall (1983). Data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. The subjects in this study were adjusted to the stages of the research. For introduction, the respondents were 30 Universitas Negeri Medan’s students from the three of study programs, namely Elementary School Teacher Education, Computer Science Engineering Education and Pancasila and Citizenship Education. At the planning stage and initial product development, the subjects of the research were 4 lecturers of Citizenship Education courses. While at the stage of field testing, the subjects of the research were 2 experts on the subject of Citizenship Education. The results of the study indicate that Eco-literacy Citizenship Education Materials based on cultural value are needed to strengthen student citizenship competencies. Expert validation results get an average score of 86.50. These results indicate that the teaching materials developed are categorized as suitable for use in the next test
