Dark Humor in the Poetry of Sherman Alexie and Ahmed Matar: A Comparative Study
Dark humor is a form of comedy that explores taboo topics such as death, disease, and tragedy. While it is often controversial and can be offensive to some, it is also a means of coping with difficult or uncomfortable topics and offering a fresh perspective on societal norms. Just as stated by Merriam-Webster’s Encyclopedia of Literature, dark humor or black humor is a kind of humor that is marked by the use of morbid, ironic, or grotesquely comic episodes that ridicule human folly. However, this paper examines the concept of dark humor by tackling some of the significant poems of the English poet “Sherman Alexie” and the Iraqi poet “Ahmed Matar.” Those two poets discuss subjects and problems of real-life experiences. The purpose of this research is to shed light on Native Americans' daily lives on reservations and demonstrate their pain as well as the poet’s personal experience there, which is discussed by Sherman Alexie in his poems, “Futures”, “Traveling”, “Translated from the American”, “Giving Blood”, “War all the time”, “Reservation cap driver”, “The mice war”. While the Iraqi poet tended to criticize Arab rules, the lack of freedom they force, their use of torture, the government, and their persuasion of authority at all costs. Here are some of his notable poems that this research are going to explain and make critique in details. “They put a watchdog on my mouth", "وَضَعوا فوقَ فمي كلبَ حِراسه", “My awful silence”, "صمتي الرهيب", “The lost Caravan”, "قافلة تائهة". Ultimately, this paper aims to offer a fair viewpoint on the usage of dark humor and to stimulate additional investigation into its psychological and social significance. It can be hypothesized that Dark humor has been used heavenly by Ahmed Matar and Sherman Alexie in their poetry, and the researcher is going to show the importance of using humor is to attack the capitalist system, as in Sherman Alexie country, and the ruthless hegemonic government as in Ahmed Matar' country. It is used to show vulgarity of governments and to amuse the audience to certain extent
Exploring Transformative Leadership Approaches in Modern Educational Institutions
This study examines transformative leadership within Philippine educational settings to discern its impact on student outcomes, staff development, and institutional effectiveness. A descriptive qualitative analysis involving diverse stakeholders revealed that transformative leadership diverges significantly from traditional management, emphasizing innovation, empathy, and adaptability. It fosters a culture where staff confidence and autonomy lead to professional growth and improved educational outcomes. In addition, the findings suggest that such leadership is essential for educational institutions navigating the complexities of modern education, including technological advancements and societal changes. Effective communication and systematic evaluation were identified as key for transformative leaders to measure and enhance student success, despite facing resistance to change. The study concludes that transformative leadership will become increasingly central in education, driving institutions towards inclusivity and a forward-thinking ethos. It was recommended that Philippine educational institutions adopt transformative leadership to bridge disparities, enhance quality, and prepare for future educational demands. The approach is particularly beneficial for public schools, higher education, TVET institutions, private educational providers, policymakers, and community learning centers, promising to elevate the quality of education in a rapidly evolving global landscape

TPACK – UDL Scale for Science Teachers: Construction, Validation and Reliability
The Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) has been widely studied, but only a few have been found that integrate it with the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. This study aims to develop the TPACK-UDL Scale to examine teacher’s knowledge of pedagogic, content, and technology related to inclusive science learning. The development of the scale refers to the eight development steps by DeVellis. After reviewing the constructs of TPACK and UDL, and examining for intersections between them, the next step was preparing the initial draft, which produced 60 items, which were divided into eight aspects (Pedagogical Knowledge/PK, Technological Knowledge/TK, Content Knowledge/CK, Technological Content Knowledge/TCK, Pedagogical Content Knowledge/PCK, Technological Pedagogical Knowledge/TPK, TPACK, and Inclusive Education Knowledge/IEK). Six-panel experts examined the initial draft of the TPACK-UDL Scale, focusing on the content and items construction. The panel experts’ feedback was used to revise the initial draft and produced the second draft. This draft was then tested on 42 science teachers who were randomly selected and asked for their willingness to fill out the scale voluntarily. Validity and reliability of the scale were tested using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. Several iterative stages of testing were conducted and produced a final 48 valid items with a Cronbach’s Alpha value > 0.8, ????A value > 0.8, and composite reliability > 0.9. Therefore, the TPACK-UDL Scale is valid and reliable for measuring teachers’ knowledge and abilities in designing inclusive science learning. Suggestions are made for the use of the TPACK-UDL scale from a practical and theoretical perspective for future research
